While he may now get a chance to play in the postseason, Marcus Camby isn't thrilled that the Clippers traded him to the Trail Blazers. Camby's agent, Rick Kaplan, informed him of the deal while he was having dinner on Monday night in Portland. The Clippers will play the Blazers on Tuesday night. After receiving the call, Camby reportedly stormed out of the restaurant. A source close to Camby says that while he recognizes that the Blazers are a better team, he is upset because his family is settled in Los Angeles and had hoped to re-sign with the Clippers this summer. "He likes the Clippers, he likes the organization, he likes L.A.," the source said. "His wife is happy in L.A. And he's not one for change. He's definitely not happy about this." http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/64752/20100216/source_camby_unhappy_with_trade/#ixzz0fkYsCtPd

According to a source, Amar'e Stoudemire has let it be known that he does not want to play in Cleveland. The news was passed along to the Cavs who are now going in another direction. Over the weekend, the Cavs and Suns appeared close to a trade that would send Stoudemire to Cleveland. But the deal might not be completely dead yet. One key factor that could change Stoudemire's mind is if the Cavs make Stoudemire an offer to extend his contract. He is believed to be seeking $60 million over three years. Note: Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer refutes the report and says that Stoudemire has made no such statement. At the All-Star festivities in Dallas, Stoudemire cryptically said "Best of luck to [shaquille O'Neal] and the Cavs" in talking to reporters about the possible trade to Cleveland. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/64724/20100215/source_amare_does_not_want_to_play_in_cleveland/

On Saturday, Dwight Howard added a world record to what has already been an excellent five-and-a-half year career. Dwight Howard entered the Guinness Book of World Records by making a shot from 52 feet, six inches away while sitting down. Here’s the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crIi1lK4Z_c

Mavericks guard Jason Terry will gladly move to the bench to make room for newcomer Caron Butler in the starting lineup. Terry was the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year last season, but he moved into the starting lineup last month after struggling and has since started playing better. "I've been there," Terry said Sunday. "Why would you make a guy like that come in and make a huge adjustment? He's already making an adjustment to a new city. We want to make him as comfortable as we can to make the process as smooth as we can." Terry said he regained his rhythm during his stint as a starter and that he'll be fine coming off the bench. "That got my rhythm right," Terry said. "For some reason or another, I was out of rhythm. Getting back in the lineup, it got me back going. "I'm ready, so coming back off the bench is not going to be a problem for me because now I feel like I'm in rhythm. We'll see how it goes, but I'll do whatever this team needs me to do to be successful. I believe that for the better of our team with Caron now, that's to come off the bench." http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/64705/20100215/terry_will_be_6th_man_so_butler_can_start/

Alas, in addition to having a nice contract, Dampier happens to be a valuable player. Trading him for Hamilton would have left an even larger gap in the front court. Now Dallas has Haywood to fill the gap, and with better defense to boot. This has all the hallmarks of an "other shoe to drop" trade. As it stands, the Mavs are doubled up at the Center position. The trade was made early enough that there is some breathing room for negotiations. Hamilton hasn't played particularly well this year, but, then, neither has Butler. If Cuban wants to win a championship with this squad, he is going to have to take a risk. The Mavericks are solid enough that Hamilton could ease back from the injuries that still seem to be plaguing him, saving his best work for the playoffs. Hamilton's playoff experience has to be alluring to a team looking to get over the hump. As it stands, acquiring Hamilton might be the last big play Cuban has left. He could make a push for Andre Iguodala, but that would mean taking on Dalembert's contract, which makes it about $30 million more for Cuban to deal with them, even if the two sides can Memphis away the contract discrepancies. http://www.detroitbadboys.com/2010/2/13/1309761/hamilton-to-dallas

With the reigning MVP of the All-Star Game sidelined for this year's event, who will win the honor this year? "Dirk," Kobe Bryant said Saturday. "He should, he should come out and play the way he plays in Dallas." Bryant shared MVP honors last year with Shaquille O'Neal, but will miss the game with a sore left ankle. Western Conference coach George Karl tabbed Mavericks forward Nowitzki to replace Bryant in the starting lineup. Bryant believes the All-Stars will follow usual game tradition of trying to set up the hometown player. "I certainly would," Bryant said. "He should go out there and just play his game. He's well deserving." http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/allstar2010/news/story?id=4912335
