  6. what part of, "mvp is not about having the best stats", dont you understand? Chicago was picked before the season started as a 4-6th seed team, possibly battling it out with the hawks and bucks. Chicago now sits at the number 1 spot. Rose does not have the number 1 stats, no, but he does have good stats and a huge improvement over last year. Dwights a great player, i just feel rose has done a better job with how the season has turned out. Rookie first year head coach, key players sitting out for long periods of time, while he remained healthy and started in all of his games. he improved greatly in some of the key areas of his game this season. Bulls are a legit contender this year, I dont think anyone has orlando in the finals. lebron james now has wade and bosh to get looks, and fell way short of the 72+ wins they guaranteed. I'd be shocked if lbj won mvp.
  7. By Henry Abbott "First, the basics: Bryant finished with 42 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists. Watch the highlights and you'll see him not just hitting big shots, but also getting big assists. Heroic, to be sure. But from the play-by-play, here's what he did with the game on the line Tuesday night. With just under five minutes to play in regulation, he hit a jumper to put the Lakers up by seven. (By no measure does a seven-point lead with five minutes to go even count as crunch time. The game's not close enough. But it was about to get close.) Here's what Bryant did next, with stars by the positive contributions: Fourth quarter * 4:30 missed 20 footer * 3:44 assist to Lamar Odom* * 3:00 bad pass turnover * 2:26 missed seven-foot jumper * 1:16 made 19-foot jumper* * 0:10 missed nine-foot jumper Overtime 1 * 4:33 missed 20-foot jumper * 3:29 missed nine-foot jumper * 3:20 missed 13-footer * 2:04 assist to Odom* * 1:27 assist to Artest* * 1:17 rebound* * 0:14 missed 3 Overtime 2 * 4:28 offensive rebound* * 4:00 two made free throws* * 3:42 defensive rebound* * 3:42 turnover (Grant Hill steal) * 3:18 defensive rebound* * 3:08 20-foot jumper* * 1:47 one of two free throws* * 0:36 shot blocked by Marcin Gortat Overtime 3 * 4:03 offensive rebound* * 4:03 putback attempt, miss * 3:26 missed 22-foot jumper * 2:30 draws a foul on Hill* * 2:18 draws a foul on Hill, who fouls out* * 2:09 made 3* * 0:44 18-foot miss * 0:14 made 11-footer* Everyone goes home remembering the 3 at the end of the third overtime, and most importantly the make to win the game with 14 seconds left in a classic. The box score and the highlights confirm a tremendous performance. The analysis can end there, and Bryant is the best crunch time performer in the game. But if we're crowning kings of crunch time, in some way we have to account for 11 missed shots in the the most important chunk of the game. Not to mention: four made shots, three of four free throws, five rebounds, three assists, two turnovers and fouling out Hill. How to weigh all that? A great player, on a great team, who won yet another game with a big bucket. But also a player who was lucky enough to be able to fire away near the end of regulation and the first two overtimes and miss them all. A player who went about eight minutes, encapsulating the first overtime, without hitting a field goal. A player who had the ball in his hands most of the time as his heavily favored home team turned a seven-point lead into a cliffhanger. And that brings us to the ultimate point of all this. It's not about Bryant. It's not about the Lakers. It's not even about basketball. It's about assumptions. They're not good enough anymore. Not in a world of nearly limitless evidence. Yes, Bryant is a hell of a player, and he blatantly brings something special to crunch time. But if you want to convince anyone that he's by far the best, you're going to have to explain all those teammates left open, and all those misses, and his shot selection, which are entirely in keeping with evidence gathered from his entire career." http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/26698/kobe-bryant-delivers-for-everybod
  8. I agree, knicks imo used to be a dark horse team before the trade, now they seem like garbage. Melo cant play any defense which hurts ny and is very overrated, him and amare are not a great combo. Hopefully this will send a league message that its not always a good idea to leave your team/system behind in order to team up with another star.
  9. damn rose 5-5 from the 3 point line. crazy

Despite what your political beliefs may be, or what you may have agreed/disagreed with whats being done now or what has been done in the past, in this present time, are you proud to be an American? http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_HKrxDdTVLT0/TQMMU2x7KrI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/Sm0tYWraiiU/s1600/United-States-Flag-Statue-of-Liberty-Large.jpg
  16. Really? Cause the arguments I hear is that its not that teams did not run zone most of the time, its just refs rarely called for it or cared. Teams would use it to help disrupt jordans game. I'm just showing clips for visual evidence, must I show all the games hes played? Why on earth would analyst, coaches, players, and fans of the game say jordan constantly faced tough doubles/triples/zones/physical defenses/handchecking/entire teams against him, if it was rarely done? Start listening? where do you think I'm getting my info from? haha, obviously I'm too young to have fully appreciated jordans career and understand it from game to game bases, but I would not be making these assumptions based on a few utube clips. Must I get my dad to make a post? Hes 51 years old and has watched jordan and the bulls respectfully since the beginning. Or maybe I should get my uncle who's 57 years old, lived in the suburbs of chicago his whole life, and is more active in sports betting than anyone I know, to put his 2cents into it? Not that it bleeping matters, since its just one persons view of the game vs another. Point basically, your gonna need a more valid argument other than, "I've watched all of mj's games and you haven't, even though I was only 7-9 years old when mj won his first ring". I provide stats and percentages, you say they dont mater, I provide visual evidence, you say youtube clips don't matter, quotes of players and coaches/analyst, you say they dont matter. And its not as if I'm taking it from only one source, couple sources, or a biased source, its a common ground on which many other people did some thorough research and debunked the claims. Only thing that matters is that you claim to have watched his whole career, even though your argument includes a bunch of what if's and what thats, like what if kobe did not play with shaq? What if kobe was given the green light? What if kobe was not so damn lazy on defense at times and gave it his full effort? What if kobe did not have phil jackson? What if kobe was the primary scoring option since day one? What if kobe came before jordan? Lets go ahead and play the "what if" game for every other player in the league while we are at it. But, I do respect you for creating your own opinion and observation of the game. Its just that I, like so many others, simply disagree with it. I provide facts and knowledgeable analyst, so take it as you wish, and get over it. And, when mj was 38 years old on the wizards, his first 42 games of that season before he ran into knee/work load problems that slowed him down and put him on the injury list ,Jordan was only one of two players to average more than 25 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds as he led the Wizards to a 26–21 record. They ended finishing the season 37-45 after that. You say if players such as pippen ect make a comment, you will give it some thought? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7U8_LoyxSM but yeah, what does pippen know, or his opinion does not matter cause its obvious hes trying to protect "his era".
  17. If Wade and LeBron are both candidates for MVP and Rose's team is ahead in the standings, what does that tell you? And rose not top 5 defensively for point guards? really? Hes been on ball defensively this year, hes made quite a bit of the top pg's have sub par nights.
  18. np, Jordans career would be too large and cant fit on a youtube video, but nether less it was a cool video i agree :glasses: Specially since it was made in response to this kobe kid who claims jordan didn't have to deal with zones, double/ or tripled teams like kb. Here's the video it was made in response too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDwJPY-Nneg&feature=player_embedded "kobe and his unstopable mentality compared to the older days isolations and todays zone defenses kobe is better than jordan because jordan had week defences on him and almost no double teams kobe gets both of them every game." Lmao that was in his info box or w/e you call it, Grade A ownage

  20. Cause D rose is from chicago baby, and chicago is the greatest city in the world. /end of discussion. It also does not help that hes lead the bulls to the best record in the east, despite the amount of injuries the bulls have had with key players. And hes putting up good numbers, and has been very clutch for the most part. Lebron won back to back mvps, and they want to give it to someone new and fresh. Miami has had very high expectations before the season started, and anything less of that would be considered a failure, and so far it looks that way. Things may be different next year.
