Teams in need of a big-play wide receiver should take note. Despite the fact that he retired, former Raiders, Patriots, Vikings and Titans receiver Randy Moss is staying in shape in the event that the right team calls with the right opportunity. An NFL source said Moss would consider an opportunity from a team that could combine a winning record, with a seasoned quarterback and the proper compensation. Candidates could include the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, New York Jets, Chicago Bears, and Dallas Cowboys. Moss will not call any of them, the source said, but if any called him, he'll listen. Source: ESPN

Michael Vick wore a pack of ice with a bandage wrapped around it on his right hand, and as the Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback sat behind the microphone in the wake of his team's 29-16 loss to the New York Giants, he was furious."Looking at the replays, I'm on the ground every time, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't frustrated," Vick said. "The refs have got to do their jobs. And I mentioned it to the refs in training camp when I talked to them. I'm on the ground constantly, all the time. Every time I throw the ball, I'm on the ground. And I don't know why I don't get the 15-yard flags like everybody else does." Vick's right hand -- his non-throwing hand -- is broken as a result of a hit he took in Sunday's game "I'm not blaming the officials," Vick said shortly after and before more quotes that seemed to do just that. "I'm not going to sit here and complain about the officials. I'm just going to talk about it and hope somebody takes notice." Source: ESPN.com

Michael Vick left the Eagles' 29-16 loss to the Giants with a broken right hand. It's uncertain how long Vick will be out.Vick tried twice unsuccessfully to get into the end zone at the end of a second-half touchdown drive on quarterback sneaks, and shortly after the field goal that followed he left the field and went to the locker room for X-rays on his non-throwing hand. He returned to the field for the Eagles' next drive, but later in the fourth quarter he was replaced by backup Mike Kafka, who threw an interception on his first play of the game.Vick started Sunday's game despite suffering a concussion in last Sunday's loss at Atlanta. Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa both topped Roger Maris' single-season home run mark of 61 in 1998. Barry Bonds broke McGwire's record with 73 homers in 2001.But because of the steroid allegations surrounding McGwire, Sosa and Bonds, Roger Maris' sons believe that their father should still have the single-season record."I think there needs to be a distinction," Randy Maris said on Saturday. "Obviously, unfortunately I think major league baseball turned an eye to that era."Randy and Roger Maris Jr. were at Yankee Stadium with other members of the Maris family to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Roger Maris' 61st home run, which he hit on Oct. 1, 1961. Golden State Warriors guard Acie Law got dinged up during a local basketball tournament Sunday.Law collided knees with another player during the 24th annual Dallas Fed X Pro-Am Basketball Classic. The Dallas native out of Kimball High School said he felt soreness in his knee and decided to sit out for his team's final two games Sunday out of precaution."I didn't want to keep playing with the situation in the NBA and then have something small like this grow into something big," Law said.Law played during the majority of the tournament despite playing in just 51 games last season with the Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies because of an injured right wrist. The former Texas A&M star underwent surgery to remove bone spurs in April that shelved him for the season. Though Law wasn't released to play by the Warriors due to the lockout, he said the wrist has progressed through therapy. Source: ESPN
