It's pointless but at some point was important but now it's just the norm so why change it?

Is Amare Stoudemire a "Top 5" PF?
headliner replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in General NBA Discussion
Most teams would want a player like Amare Stoudemire on their team but is he a top 5 PF in the league no but he is a top 10 PF in the league. -
I’m not a fan of Calderon and to suggest that is defence was good is genuinely funny to me. Look at the point guards he was facing. Sessions wasn’t a real offensive threat to Calderon which made his defensive assignment very easy for him. I’m more than positive that throughout the year were going to hate his defence. I loved what Demar accomplished in this game but I felt that his teammates did a poor job of looking for him. Whenever he got the ball he was able to create for himself and others. He defence on Parker was very good but just would like to see him more involved in the overall offensive scheme because he is capable of putting up more than 14 points and 3 assist.

The game thus far is very slow and a bit boring

Amir TV Presents: Halloween Holla
headliner replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
Amir clearly has nothing better to do but some of that was funny -
If the Raptors don't win this game before the west coast trip it will be very difficult for them to win any games come the next few weeks.

I hope Bryan himself is committed to rebuilding and doing it through youth. We need to accumulate young talent and develop them. Demar and Davis is a good start to a youth movement. Teams like Memphis, Portland and Oklahoma improved through the draft and there is no reason why the Raptors can’t improve through the draft. My concern is Colangelo capable of drafting the right talented and allows them enough time to grow. In my opinion this has to be a 5 year commitment to rebuilding this team I just don’t believe that Colangelo is the right guy to rebuild this team.
-
I can understand why you think the Raptors are rebuilding but I believe that Bryan Colangelo tried his hardest to retool this past summer which he failed at. He made it clear he wanted to retool and he has made it clear that something most likely will happen with the trade exception that will improve the team. This team needs to rebuild and the Raptors have good core pieces to start with.
-
Well this is going to be the start of an interesting season for the Raptors. So many question and as of right now the Raptors don’t have a real direction. Bryan has the trade exception which he has to use up until the summer. At the end of the day I’m going to watch the season to tune in on the development of Demar.

Grant Hill Says Lockout Won't Affect His Future
headliner replied to Sun Tzu's topic in Phoenix Suns Team Forum
A player of his age understands how their body works. It’s a matter of taking care of his body and remaining in great shape. He has Steve Nash as an excellent example for him so I wouldn’t worry about him if the NBA does in fact have a lock out. -
The way LeBron went about making his decision was wrong but in the end he made a career and a business decision which clearly he is very happy with and at the end of the day it’s about winning a championship which should be every player’s goal. How he decides to go about is on LeBron.

LeBron made is point clear

Point taken but you forget the Demar is still a very raw basketball player and he has a lot to learn but it’s his work ethic that I honestly believe will propel to new heights. As the season progress we will see a significant improvement in his game and his overall basketball IQ. In year 3 and 4 is when we’ll see what kind of player we have in Demar.

Who was the most overrated player of the past decade?
headliner replied to Flash's topic in General NBA Discussion
He is overrated. He never once made it past the second round and the one year he was injured and couldn’t play for the rockets the team managed to advance to the second round of the playoffs with out him. So what does that say about Tmac as a player? -
I absolutely agree with you I just think Darren Collison has all the right tools to be a star point guard in the league and he proved that last season when Chris Paul was injured. He has a great opportunity to shine in Indiana. Definitely a smart move by the Pacers.

I found your article entertaining especially the piece pertaining to the Toronto Raptors. Considering I’ve been a fan for a while you may consider me a homer but I do agree that this team will have a losing season but I disagree with calling Demar a mistake player at one wing. I honestly think Demar will surprise a lot of people this year and I think he will continue to improve as the year progress.

What Happened to Jose Calderon?
headliner replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
Calderon has been terrible for the past two seasons. Its the most common thing among NBA players when they receive their large contracts after having one stellar season. Based on his talent level I don't believe were ever going to see a better Calderon. Look at his career average. He averages 9.8 ppg and 6.6 apg not remotely enough to help this team win. Top it all off he is a terrible defender. -
Young Gunz was a more suitable name for these guys but of course the NBA had that changed. The video itself was interesting I think its a joke that these guys think they're the future of the franchise. In my mind they're just core players and Demar has a chance to be something special.
-
Honestly I didn't expect him to lose especially in the first round. It looked like he was not prepared for the fight and he under estimated Velasquez
-
I`m beginning to feel the same as you. If your shots not falling then take it to the basket instead he shoots more bricks and it`s going to cost the raptors the game.
-
Call me crazy but I would rather play Marco at the point than Jack. I'm just putting this idea out there.
-
Calderon is sucking so bad. He is missing everything

Dude you kill me. I just love reading your post.

The raptors are two steps behind on defence. Obviously they weren’t seeing man and ball but to me they were just chasing the Jazz around and they were getting caught up on the screens. They need to do a better job of fighting through screens and they need to push the jazz out of the paint. On offense they have to stop taking so many jump shots. The raptors have to play inside out because in my mind the strength of this team is in the paint and they have the ability to bully the jazz around cause the raptors are bigger and faster than the jazz and we saw that towards the end of the second quarter.
