  1. the oberto deal is a good one, im not disagreeing with it, especially in a perfect situation in which haywood doesn't get hurt. but what if haywood goes down for 10 games and all we have left at center are mcgee(pushed around a lot because of his frame) and oberto as options for center. i doubt obi would be able to step up and fill haywood's shoes as a true center. i don't feel it was the best big guy we could have gotten(really wanted wilcox), but its decent. but hey i wasn't really a big fan of javale mcgee before the season started last year, and now he's one of my favorites players. oberto may turn out to be a heaven sent, but im not banking on it....
  2. ^^^^there nothing really wrong with oberto, its jsut that i didn't see a lot of stuff that he did positively on the court, besides flopping once in a while and taking up space. i trust ernie though, he's a very good GM
  3. im going to leave out sg's. lebron- as much as i hate the guy(and i do hate him), you can't deny his courtvision and passing abilities shaq- shaq is the best passing player out of double teams by far in the nba and has been for a while now. his combination of size, force, paint position, iq, and skills all allow him to be an excellent and crafty passer from the post bogut- underrated big guy that makes crisp passes in all of his games. gasol- playged pg until his body went on a growth spurt so the skills and mindset are still there to a degree. he can pull of passes like a guard with his mix of hand size, speed, and agility. duncan- the big duncamental. he is probably the most fundamentally sound player in the nba today and is an excellent passer for a pg. he is smart and has good chemistry with his teammates so he is comfortable passing to them time and time again.
  4. whats up real deal. this is billtimore from nbad. i came by to post in the wiz section, and hopefully continue to post their in the future.

  5. is ready for the influx of bandwaggoners this season. go wiz.

  6. im not really a big fan of oberto, but im not against this signing. i would hate this signing if rasclot was still our head coach because he'd probably play oberto 20 minutes a game and have mcgee on the bench. as long as oberto can come in and make heady plays, defend, rebounds, and take chargers im all for him on the team.i can't really complain, washington has had some really [expletive]ty backup/centers for a while now like ruffin, booth, white, brown, etc..
  7. i think they all will show up this year. each has shown potential with our dismantled team in the past, and being with a healthy gil, tawn, and butler will only make them better. i think nick young could thrive off of playing sg alongside gil like how stevenson did. stevenson was a horrible thre point shooter before he came to washington but he got so many open looks with gil on the floor he started to knock them down consistently. nick young can flat out score so with gil at the helm he should really show some improvement this season. i think he averaged 9 or 10 points a game last season, and i see him doing equal to that this season, but it will be much more effective. that 10 ppg last season was the result of an increased role on an injured team and the stats were inflated. having flip as the coach will make or break young. he's already giving him the same drills he did with rip and we all know how well rip hamilton has turned out. out of the ones listed nick young will probably step up the most even though its due time for cabbage blatche to breakt out. for all of you saying foye,do you realize that he averaged 16 and 4 last season? i doubt he reaches those same numbers here in washington with a healthy squad. his ppg will dip, but hopefully his assist will rise.
  8. honestly i don't think mcgee could ever take over the spotting spot on this team with a healthy haywood playing even in a few years. brendan is no dwight howard, but he also isn't a kwame. he's a center that plays defense, and hits freethrows and doesn't get bodied. im high on javale mcgee but i won't let that cloud my judgement. he's a tall athletic center, that is lanky and often looks lost on offense and defense. he would thrive in a place like golden state as the center. he has fundamentals, but i think he needs to work with a big man coach to tell him how to use his body effectively. i'd take 10 points 2 blocks and 8 rebounds from haywood anyday over 10,8 and 2 from mcgee. they don't impact the game the same way. i hope mcgee can put it together, but he needs to hit the weight room if he is ever going to be a consistent starter.
