  1. Trouble, Clue, Life...Monopoly was too boring after a while...you'd have crooked bankers making deals with other buyers and people elongating the game way too long.
  2. Nah, we're more humid than you guys, but not by too much. Now Ames, IA, where I went to college, that is an unbearably humid place at times in the summer. I can handle any day in Dallas...in Ames, there were some days that you literally couldn't go outside until about 6 PM.
  3. What they were firing were only capable of traveling 300-400 miles. California is over 6000 miles away from N. Korea. We are fine.
  4. Went down to the pool, got some free hot dogs and chips, then came back and now we're just hanging out in the apartment. We won't do anything tonight as usual.
  5. Went to Iowa State University. Graduated May '07. Management and MIS (Management Information Systems).
  6. Better player offensively is Jefferson, better player defensively is Artest, although I've never seen RJ to be a slouch on that side of the ball. I would say, though that Ron brings more of an all-around game to your team than RJ would, even with the slight drop in offensive production. But for my team, in its current construction, Artest is far and away the better player out of the two.
  7. Battier is a better perimeter defender than almost everyone in the league. Artest, however, is just as good on that side of the ball and a lot better in the defensive post. Battier - Perimeter Artest - All-around defender Howard - Post D and rebounding A question of who's strictly the best doesn't factor in all the qualities.
  8. Kobe has more left than Duncan, and likewise, Duncan has more left than Shaq. That's a pretty big factor as far as competing for that 5th 'ship. I take our addition over the Spurs' addition giving Kobe the best chance.
  9. I watched Felton's and Lawson's entire college careers. They will be pretty similar NBA players.
  10. One's cute, the other's sexy. You should know which is which. It's too easy of a question to answer.
  11. Luckily it didn't happen in the U.S. or we would be seeing that.
  12. I played soccer before. I'm familiar with it. It's still remarkable. It would be just as remarkable is he kicked it into the goal "soccer-style" from that far away.
  13. Pretty simple. Lakers 1st. We did nothing but get better with Artest. Still have to retain Odom, though. We get a healthy Bynum (we'll see for how long), and if Phil signs on he's in for the whole season so there's no problem there. Spurs 2nd. They'll get a big man (they always rent one) to help them content. RJ is a huge addition for them, but there's is no way that the addition of Jefferson on an old team can trump the addition of Artest on a championship team. Nuggets 3rd. Reliable backup point guard now in Everybody-Loves-Raymond clone Tywon Lawson. 'Melo has a strong year coming up to expand on his defensive intensity. Looks like that team will retain what got them to the WCF. Jazz deserve a mention. Boozer a whole year, Okur staying, and Deron vying for starter in the All Star game as he gets to start the year off completely without having to work himself back from injury.
  14. Artest. Simply stated he's better on both sides of the ball, especially post defense. Ariza was getting killed in the post all year. Now Kobe doesn't have to worry about guarding that post in the situations that Ariza couldn't. Ron Ron is salivating to play some D in there.
  15. That guy sings great on his back
  16. Take away the basketball focus and that seems like an eerie gay porn scene Artest baby!!! He's coming in here running the Triangle. He's not coming in here in a freelance offense, so the concerns with his offensive disruption need to be set aside. We don't rely on dribble penetration as much as other teams, so he's not going to be dribbling the clock out every other possession. In the games that McGrady played this past season, Artest was at 13 FG/game. In McGrady's absence, he was at 16.5 FG/game. That's easily attributed to having to pick up the slack. This is a big win for us on both sides of the ball. Training camp can't come fast enough
  17. Man is it true You can see about 90% of the haters in that very comic strip, with those exact words.
  18. If he's trying to get a 5 year deal then it's not a lot of dough. Salary goes up in the following years slightly from the $5.8 mil or so MLE and that's a good $30+ mil. If he can get it, more power to him.
  19. His agent has his mouth at too many microphones these days. Houston flew to Vegas to meet with Ariza. Sorry Trev, but the Rox aren't sniffing the title any time soon. That's really a bummer that we couldn't get it worked out.
  20. Of course he hasn't surpassed Jordan. But, Kobe's career isn't over yet
  21. Looks like he's going to Houston now just out of spite if the word is true. They're only offering him the MLE. I thought that's what we were offering him?
  22. Hill is a glue guy for sure...at least in this stage of his career. He would be a good fit on our team, or anyone's team. But if Artest is coming over for sure, I'm sure Hill is not looking to compete with Odom for time at the 3.
  23. The only reason I would want Coach K is because of Kobe's tremendous respect for him and I would believe Krzyzewski would be able to get even more out of 24. Besides that, he can stay in that blue devil crap factory.
  24. Too bad he and Gasol are the same position. We wouldn't play him at Center or SF, so he's pretty much out of our cross hairs.
