Big Penny replied to kingfish's topic in General NBA Discussion
Wizards definately... i thought they would be able to get the 4th seed in the east this year and the spurs... there was so much hype about San Antonio becoming argubly the best team in the West. uhhhh -

who is the better player throghout the first 6 years of their career? this is assuming Dwight wins the DPOY award this year, is 1st team all defense and all NBA, and make sure to consider the different eras of bigmen, and the different teams they play on (more or less touches, etc) Dwight Howard 17.5 PPG - 12.7 RPG - 1.5 APG - 2.1 BPG - 0.9 SPG - 3.0 TPG (.574) 4x NBA All Star 2x NBA Defensive Player Of The Year 2x All NBA First Team 1x All NBA Third Team 2x All Defensive First Team 1x All Defensive Second Team 1x All Rookie First Team Alonzo Mourning 21.4 PPG - 10.2 RPG - 1.5 APG - 2.9 BPG - 0.5 SPG - 3.3 TPG (.524) 4x NBA All Star 1x All Rookie First Team Dikembe Mutombo 13.0 PPG - 12.3 RPG - 1.6 APG - 3.7 BPG - 0.6 SPG - 2.6 TPG (.526) 3x NBA All Star 2x NBA Defensive Player Of The Year 1x All Defensive First Team 1x All Defensive Second Team 1x All Rookie First Team

what? i see no reason why the Bengals and the Ravens can't make the playoffs... the Bengals were very good last season, and the Ravens had a very solid team last year (as the world saw by how they killed New England) , and now with the addition of Anquan Boldin, and now Ray Rice has another year of experience under his belt.

but when Kobe retires, and the Lakers fall to the lottery, Jashaun Agosto will be old enough to come to the NBA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KR9_eF9Ef4

Jennings Takes Shot At Warriors, Kings
Big Penny replied to Legacy's topic in Milwaukee Bucks Team Forum
why are you guys complaining? i loved it when Jennings said this. 99% of players in the NBA are all in love with eachother... good to see someone taking shots http://media.masslive.com/hoophallclassic_impact/photo/brandon-jennings-55-points-47106f0237f82c39_large.jpg -
i do watch the cavs. and im not saying Varejo is a bad sixth man, im saying he wouldn't be very good as a starter, because of the type of player he is. and +/- doesn't mean much in the NBA yes, Z did start last year, im not denying he could start... im saying he wouldn't be a quality starter. i guess me and you must have different definitions of the word 'Quality' because to me it doesn't mean average. and in 2007-08 Z averaged 14/9, in 2008-09 he averaged 13/7. he's getting old an declining, his averages would be down even if he did start.

Varejo isnt a quality starter... hes an energy hustle guy who is suited for coming off the bench. Z isn't even a quality starter anymore. sure you could start him, and he wouldn't be absolutely terrible, but he would be an average starter at best. The Lakers don't need backup bigs because Pau/Drew/Odom are the only 3 that play. even so, JP and Dacos are very underrated. Powell can strech the floor and DJ had about 10 boards and 4 blocks during all his starts in the pre season. are they good starters? no, far from it, but they do what is asked from them. its a shame they dont get more minutes Farmar isn't inconsistent some times, Farmar is incosistent all the time. Shannon isn't overrated, it's just when people look at his scoring, they don't see 8PPG, they see 4DPG (dunks per game) and assume he can't do anything else, when he is primarily a jumpshooter (too much of a jumpshooter imo) btw im not trying to make it sound like i think the Laker bench is good, because i dont. PS. Gibson got nothing on THE MACHINE!!!! http://www.vujacic.net/wp-content/gallery/photo-session/sasha3.jpg

Andrew Bynum suffers strained achilles tendon
Big Penny replied to The Regime's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
"Healing times are usually 2 to 10 days for a mild strain, 10 days to 6 weeks for a moderate strain, or 6 to 10 weeks for a severe strain. Repeated injuries may take longer to heal and are more prone to complications. " lets hope its a mild strain -
Popovich: 'If We Don't Win, I Should Be Fired'
Big Penny replied to Legacy's topic in San Antonio Spurs Team Forum
where do you think he will go? -
feel sorry for that car because not everyone wants kids when they're still young?
-
the Lakers bench, we have THE Ear Jordan, His Earness, or w/e you want to call him, Shannon Brown; who can dunk the ball with extreme ability, THE MACHINE!! who is the most consistent player in the NBA, Luuuke Walton who is a great passer and has a HOF Dad, Adam Morrison, who can go through a whole NBA game without working up a sweat, Josh Powell who has corn rows, Lamar Odom who brings a lot of energy to the game through his candy, and the one and only DJ 'Dacoos' Mbenga.

Next great international Big man(Predicted to go number 4) This year
Big Penny replied to Years's topic in NBA Draft History
OK, lets take Derrick Rose. Rose probably wanted to play in the NBA straight from HS. but he couldn't he had to have left HS and have atleast 1 year of NCAA/Pro experience. which situation sounds better: "I can go to College in the US, just play for 1 year and go to the NBA. very easy." or "I can pack up all my bags, try and get some money together to go to Europe even though I'm broke, and play ball there for 1 season, and then pack up and move back to the US." Much more people in America play basketball in Europe... and for those Americans who are succesful, it makes much more sense to go to a college in their home counrty, than to move continents for 1 year. PS. Adam Morrison, Michael Olowakandi, Hasheem Thabeet, Greg Oden, Jay Williams. they all have 1 thing in common. -
