Kobe averaged 10PPG more than Gasol, despite playing less minutes. And if you watch the games, you could tell that Kobe was more valuable to the Lakers than Gasol.

I think it would have more of an affect on people in the NBA (Players, owners, etc.) more than it would the fans. Obnviously the fans would feel let down, but they aren't losing anything other than entertainment from it. These players will be losing a lot of money, and will essentially be out of work for a year. They would probably be a lot more hesitant when going forward, especially since it would be the second time in just over 10 years. I can't comment on how it would affect America because I don't live there, although I imagine there would be a lot of empty space on the TV schedule.

It's the way he said it. Of course he shouldn't sit there and take it, but trash talk is a part of the game, and the way he said it just sounded to me like he doesn't expect anybody to talk trash, if you get what I'm saying.

Chill out, of course he should stand up for himself, it's just saying "I'm not going to let anyone talk trash." makes him sound like a bit of girl. It's like he expects everybody to be nice to him and gets really upset when they aren't.
