  1. Good game for J Lin. There's still reason to believe that he's a product of the D'antoni system though. I hope he goes far though.
  2. West wins because no lineup in the NBA is more competitive than CP3 and Kobe alone. Kobe wins ASG MVP just because it'd be nice.
  3. I'll go with Lebron on this one. How often do you see someone completely jump over another player in game? Perfect landing. Griffin had great vert and powe. Although Lebron's isn't as authoritative, it was more incredible. Both are immense. Slam-dunk contest finals preview??? - i edited out some stuff trying to discredit the griffin dunk. no way im getting away with it.
  4. I would guess K-Mart goes to Clippers over Heat. He'll easily take Evans and Cookie's minutes. With how easily DJ can get fouls, he'd be a great addition.
  5. They don't really need either. I can see Pryzbilla taking minutes from Anthony and Curry, but I also am not sure how he's performing after his surgeries. Otherwise, he's a good defensive center with his size. Adding good depth to the center position is always a good idea. But where would K-mart get minutes? I believe he's looking for minutes. I suppose he can fit in some line ups, but for most of em, Bosh/Haslem will fit better at the PF. Probably not much better in the SF position either.
  6. A) Tough question. Gordon has been the lead scorer before, but Harden hasn't. Harden is already the 3rd wheel on the Thunder so we haven't really seen how he'd do as a primary scorer. He has great potential, though. Greater than Gordon mostly because Eric is an undersized SG. I'd go with Harden. Harden will probably be the better scorer when his prime is reached because of his frame and skill to go with it. B) Gordon. There's been just too many times where i've seen Gordon perform well defensively and offensively especially in the closing minutes. The biggest problem is at times he'll lose ball control or overdribble. As a 3rd/4th option, he can really focus on defense and still come up offensively when needed. So he can be pretty versatile.
  7. pisses me off how much more Kobe works than anyone else on the team.
  8. The way we've been playing each other since Griffin joined the Clippers, it's hard not to say we're not developing a rivalry. Previously, there definitely wasn't much of one because Clips weren't competitive, but UCLA and USC football has a rivalry and look at how UCLA football is. But it's not much of a rivalry yet. Not what Lakers-Boston is or Yankees-Red sox etc. A little bit of it is there though. It won't be a full rivalry until Kobe points his finger at someone.
  9. If he wins a ring this year like I think he will, he may be content enough to move back to Cleveland by 2014. Especially if no more championships follow and the "heavy-handed, discipline style" practices continue. Big if though because this Miami team is going to stay contenders for a while. Then again, that didn't stop him from leaving Cleveland.
  10. In playoffs, ya you're right. I don't see anyone on this team going Dirk mode to beat Miami in a 7 game series. I don't think that's what is expected of the team either. What this team is expected to do is to be able to knock off the non elite teams in the East. It'd take a big miracle for them to knock out Miami or Chicago in the playoffs. If they're going to beat Miami, Philly needs more talent. It has nothing to do with playing well in the fourth. Philly just doesn't have the potential that Miami has. Clutch play isn't the main concern. But Philly does have weapons that can close. Hypothetically, on a last possession and down by one against Miami, I can see Doug Collins drawing up a play that would at least give Louis Williams the ball where he can shoot it from 20 ft. On plays leading up to that last possession, Jrue is capable of driving to the hoop if the ball movement isn't there.
  11. Thank goodness. If there was a win that we absolutely needed this season, this was it. Even if both Billups and CP3 played poorly, we would have imploded with a loss. Goudelock showed that he's been working on his game. His defense needs work, but in our messed up offense, he's more valuable than Darius Morris. He also showed what we've been missing with Steve Blake - a useful playmaker off the bench. With our makeup, we're in a big need for playmakers especially from the bench. Kapono and Murphy are the same player - players that can shoot, and that's it. McRoberts and Barnes are also the same player. And you can't really count on MWP. This game showed what we can build on offensively, and the answer comes and will always come back to having Pau be more active. That is and will always be on Pau.
  12. Definitely. This was a big game in that it showed that Bynum isn't ready to be the #2 in an elite team. Gasol only shot his average, but he had more touches. It opened up the offense way more than if Bynum were to get the touch. Hopefully Gasol AND the Lakers build on Gasol's success on that night. If the team is going to contend, they gotta work from Kobe or Gasol in the post. Bynum can't handle it right now, and this season, Gasol hasn't been able to either up until the Clipper win.
  13. I dont see performance in the clutch with this team to be a problem. There's a good number of players that can produce during the fourth. Louis Williams, Jrue Holiday, Igoudala, Elton Brand. In that order. But it's not really that clear cut. The variety of weapons is why they're so good and fun to watch. I can't wait until Hawes comes back. He's seemingly integral to their success. I haven't seen the losses that were decided by 6 pts or less, but I have seen Louis Williams close. And he can close.
  14. Kenny smith is such a dad haha. He seriously gave his daughter a plug for a completely irrelevant song.
  15. Not liking the black unis. Nice find by James for their first points
  16. Right now id go with Louis Williams. I thought that's who you meant. Similar stats, more succesful team. Both are pretty clutch but id give Louis the green light over mo.
  17. I don't see how there's even a question of who's more clutch right now. Lebron has been messing up in 4th quarters ever since last years finals. He's now a choker just like how Dirk was a choker before he won the finals in that authoritative way. He's got to prove that he can will his team to a win just like Dirk did. Otherwise, that's his demon. The only reason why people can compare the Lakers/Jazz game and the Heat/Clipper game is because both went into overtime. These are two entirely different games though. On their last shot of regulation, both Kobe and Lebron failed pull their team to a win. That's the only similarity. Jazz played the 4th quarter well. They returned each clutch shot closing the 4th. Millsap was clutch in the 4th to keep Jazz in the game. Then Kobe misses. Okay, OT. Kobe misses a few more, but he has a KEY 3pter to change the momentum in OT. Otherwise, Jazz keeps the momentum. Lakers eventually win. On the other hand, Clippers didn't play very well in the 4th. CP3 had a remarkable 3rd quarter, but he came out nearly empty in the 4th. Everyone remembers the crossover on James that happened right before he missed the gamewinner, but CP3 missed a few before that that would close out the game. Shots that he usually makes. James demanded the ball but continually he failed to convert. CP3 didn't make him pay. Then, OT. Butler makes the first shot, Wade seems cold, Chalmers keeps Heat in the game, DJ becomes clutch defensively, Clippers win. Fully comparing these 2 games, the answer is obvious.
  18. Horrible game towards the end of the 4th quarter. Miami shot themselves in the foot, but Clippers couldn't let them pay.
  19. damn. Injury is plaguing his career. One of my favorite players, too.
  20. Portland hasn't lost a game this season when scoring above 100. Is that anything? 104-89 Portland. Because it's Portland.
  21. A good road win for the Sixers, a sign of a competitive playoff team. Especially since the Hornets didn't play particularly bad. Jarrett Jack played well, but I couldn't help but wonder why Eric Gordon wasn't included in helping to close the gap in the end of the game. In his few years with Gordon, he was the closer. Last year on the Clippers where Griffin was the first two quarters, Gordon was the last two. Now I was a little disappointed when the Hornets made him into a watcher. Maybe Monty saw the fatigue that BFT talked about, but Gordon is a proven clutch player. He played clutch defensively, but on the other end, it was all Jarrett Jack. Kaman though looks like a better fit on this team. He goes from the athletic play of the Clippers to a slower tempo here. I'm happy for him.
  22. Offensively, Griffin is better. Pau isn't extremely far behind because he is a better passer and has a better shooting range. Griffin can create the shot though either by iso or just cutting to the rim. Offensively, Griffin has superstar potential. Defensively, Pau is better. Griffin can rotate well and that's all good, but so can Kevin Love. Pau has the length to affect shots. That's pretty much what it comes down to on this end of the court. I've seen Griffin improve rapidly in his rookie year so my opinion may change at the end of the season. But right now, I'm going with Pau. edit: deng.. looking at the stats... of course Pau's FT% is under .700. <_<
  23. I'm glad Lakers didn't get Adelman. Those last few plays the wolves drew up out of the timeout were ugly. Wade was amazing in the clutch.
  24. Knicks looked terrible against GSW. They were bumping into each other on defense and making nothing on offense. If they're looking to bounce back, I'm expecting a tough game for the Lakers.
