From what I saw, Nintendo may have "won" this conference by reviving the wii as an actual gaming console and introducing the Nintendo 3DS that is said to have the power of the dreamcast.
  2. honestly you can't go wrong with either. If you do get a PS3 I strongly recommend Uncharted 2. It's a great shooter but it draws you in like an action movie. Also, as far as games go, you're going to play the multiplatform games more than you'll play the exclusives. Halo may be the exception, but that's been around for a while on the 360 anyway. But I gotta say that if you're a movie junkie, you gotta get the PS3. 120hz + bluray will be the best thing for a while even with 3D trying to get into the market.
  3. Without Perkins, Boston is going to and will have to step it up on offense. And I think they probably will because Perkins is pretty much an offensive liability. With Perkins gone, Sheed will most likely start. This is mostly step down defensively for Celtics but it's still a good matchup for Gasol. Perkins is a great rebounder and help defender, but Sheed is an even better post-defender. I haven't seen him on Bynum but he's proven his post defense against D Howard and Gasol. Odd thing is that last game, defense was still the game on both sides even without Perkins. You'd think it was a combination of Laker offense and defense with how much of a blowout it was, but Lakers only scored 1.05 ppp. In reality, it was the combination of Lakers' defense with the lack of Celtic effort on offense that dug the Lakers out of a hole. I thought their offense would be much better with Perkins out, but they never were able to adjust properly or even pick up intensity. I doubt Boston will repeat a poor offense performance in game 7 and so I think next game we'll see a closer and relatively higher scoring game. Hopefully Lakers come up on top.
  4. This game was two faces of ugly. The first half was no offense, the second half was no defense. Every Celtic superstar was clearly outplaying their matchups with the exception of Kobe. It was waaaaaaaaaack; Let's see Lakers play on the corner.
  5. Kobe has to lower his turnovers. 7 of the team's 15 turnovers were from him. Also, Bynum needs to get uninjured. We need his length to counter Glen's size especially on the boards.
  6. I was surprised too by how much Kobe was willing to step back in the fourth quarter after relentlessly trying to find his shot throughout the first three quarters even to the point where he stole a pass from Shannon Brown. I was actually scared that he would continue his cold streak into the fourth quarter, but as time clocked down in the fourth quarter I was continually astonished by how much the team was deferring to Fish. Also, I agree with the Rondo analysis. Boston was successful when Rondo was pushing the ball, but he was hesitant in the fourth quarter. One play in particular, I remember he was just standing there waiting for a play. He was standing for what seemed like a good 10 seconds. I've seen him do the same thing previously with some success, but this time Boston needed to push.
  7. I was thinking about that too and I voted no. Why? because if you compare KG and Gasol on tonight's game, we all see how Gasol was an overall better player. KG on the other hand was only dominant on the scoring end. The difference is that without KG's performance tonight, Boston didn't stand a chance. Pierce and Ray Allen was struggling, and Rondo couldn't get past Laker's two bigs. KG was the best option all the time in the court. I'm not saying that KG is better than Gasol either. I believe Gasol has surpassed KG since 08. What I am saying is that scoring is huge in this league, and the best scoring big is still Dirk. Dirk is still the best big in the league.
  8. ey man, I love playoff Fisher too. you can really tell that he played his heart out when he was tearing up in the interview.
  9. lol well he does suck during regular season. But this was also a great team win defensively. Runs were stopped dead when the deficit was below 10. Also, Kobe is shooting horrible in this series. He's got to get back to where he was at the end of that suns series.
  10. Interesting start for Boston. Ray Allen is 0-5 and so I think one adjustment on offense they're going to make is to try to get him going in the second half. As for Lakers offense, I don't see what they're doing differently from game 2. They're going to the big men frequently and Kobe is still setting up Isos frequently.
  11. Like Boston made adjustments to us, we will make adjustments to them. Particularly, the Boston backcourt needs to be better contained. It'll be tough to get around those screens to get to Ray Allen, but Lakers will make sure that is focal point on their defense. Also, we're probably not going to let Rondo get that many rebounds again. Boston's frontcourt is the lesser of their two evils so I think we're going to make them pass the ball to their bigs. On offense, we just need to do a better job of keeping the ball away from Artest.
  12. Wanna add that Boston had 13 offensive rebounds but Lakers had 10. Can't keep letting Rondo getting those. Our back court was horrible defensively.
  13. Ouch. For a second i thought we'd survive Ray Allen's record 8 3 pts. Ron Artest wasn't making anything. And Kobe ran too many isos especially to start the game.
  14. Agreed. This one is going down the wire. We'll be seeing a better Boston defense. I'm not expecting Farmar and Brown to repeat their performance in game 1. Boston should have some good adjustments for Gasol and Kobe as well. I'm almost as excited as I was before game 1.
  15. sounds like a Celtic fan frustrated at his team.

  17. can't wait for Sunday.

  18. If Vinny can make a good defensive team out of the Bulls I wonder what Thibodeau can do. Their offense was their problem, though. Let's see what Thibodeau will do about that. But I don't doubt at all that they'll make the playoffs again next year.
  19. Ray Allen was torched because he had to adapt to the refs and his fouls. Tony Allen did well against Kobe as well. I recall that clean block he had when Kobe drove in. Pierce didn't stand out as a great defender, but I trust that he was a smart defender. Lastly, I think a few of those iso plays came from the end of the fourth when the game was over and Kobe was shooting for 30 and tacos. Also, Sheed was great at defending Gasol. I think Celtics are going to give him more minutes to defend him and the P& R.
  20. I disagree with most of you actually. Fouls did disrupt Celtics defense. Otherwise the Lakers wouldn't have scored .15 more PPP than the Celtics allowed all post-season. Celtics defense is better than this. Like Rick Fox said, Lakers won in the first 30s of the game. This was when Ron Artest got into that tangle with Pierce. The result was that the refs were going to call the game tight. They weren't about to have a brawl during the Finals. They can't. So now the Celtics couldn't play their style of game, physical. They couldn't push Kobe out of a drive nor could they push Gasol out of the paint. Ray Allen, the only person who had his touch, didn't have much play time because of fouls. You can tell that the Celtics were playing outside their comfort level on defense. It wasn't related to frustrations on offense, I can tell you that. They average, what, 1.04 ppp in the playoffs, and now they were forced down to 1.01. That's hardly a big difference. The intense physical play in the beginning ignited a soft, finesse game that benefits the Lakers offense. It seems that Boston defense relies on calls though. Last time 54 fouls were called in a Bostom game was the last time Orlando won.
  21. Good game! Kinda boring, though. Celtics didn't match our intensity at all. Let's get game 2.
  22. Good song from production to lyrical content. Thought it was funny though that the first song you post is directly about hip-hop eccentricity. Just like you, really.
