Bad move. It would be smarter it they could keep because who knows how much Rubio is going to be able to contribute right away to the team, if anything trade him before the deadline if Rubio pans out. Getting rid of him this early would be a bad move.

IMO he will be a solid play maker for the team, but that biggest question I have is will he be a big enough factor to stay on the floor and contribute? He is a bit older now but still very small when compared to quite a few point guards in the league today, I think his defensive weakness is going to keep him on the bench during crunch time for at least a few years.

Honestly he really didnt have a choice. At this stage in his career he is very injury prone, and not much of an impact player when he is healthy. He has always been known as a smart guy so when he say his health and the lockout possibility he knew it was time to call it quits. He should have no regrets about his career in the NBA. And yes it would be awesome to see him join TNT crew.
