  1. Nice start for A&M, hopefully they can pull off the upset. Love watching Manziel play, reminds me alot of Kaepernick.
  2. Pretty safe to assume that Phil is going to be the guy.
  3. Bernie's rotations were alot better than Mike Browns. Bench played a big role in the win tonight.
  4. Golden State is just playing sloppy and are shooting uncharacteristically bad. A bunch of missed threes. Kobe went to work in the third though, he found open teammates and got to the rack. Even missed shots at the rim led to easy putbacks for our bigs. He should have a double double already if it wasn't for Pau and Dwight missing a few bunnies.
  5. A whole lot of isolation basketball in the third quarter.
  6. Metta is just brutal on offense. We need to seriously start limiting his minutes or bring him off the bench depending on who we're playing.
  7. Lakers are on a mission to put up 30 three pointers.
  8. I doubt we'll have a whole lot structure on offense tonight. Probably a whole lot of p&r and iso ball from Kobe.
  9. LOL at Monroe's defense. Perkins just took off with the ball from the three point line, dribbled through his legs, and scored on a layup.
  10. Wade already out, and Lebron is headed to the locker room after knocking knees with Josh Smith.
  11. It happened a lot quicker than I anticipated, but it's clear that management wasn't going to sit around and just wait for results. Shitty thing for Mike Brown is that we actually had a relatively easy homestand coming up so he could have probably propelled the team to .500 or better in a week and a half's time. I'm ecstatic though. As long as it's not D'Antoni (from the guys that have been mentioned) I'll be satisfied.
  12. And also why are people so high on Jerry Sloan? I understand how Nash and Pau/Dwight could be effective in the offense, but how exactly would Kobe work into the mix? Sounds like the two and three's have to move around alot off screens/cut to the basket, and that's not something that Kobe has done a whole lot of throughout his career. You can't expect him to thrive especially at his age.
  13. No to Mike D'Antoni for a variety of reasons. We don't have the right personnel to run his scheme. Team is ridiculously slow and is more adept to scoring in the half court, both of which work against MD. D'Antoni wouldn't even know what to do with three legitimate post up options. His offenses have always been predicated on spacing the floor, penetrating and finding open shooters which once again isn't our strength. And I don't even want to start with what his defenses have done over the years. The fact of the matter is that Dwight is going to have to anchor this defense. Kobe isn't the same perimeter defender as he once was, Nash is a defensive liability, Pau is soft as [expletive], and Metta isn't the same from a couple years back. Whoever takes over the takes the reigns has to emphasize defense. Phil Jackson seems like a longshot. What are the Lakers going to offer him, $15-20 million just to coach for six months? The team is already in a financial hole so I highly doubt they'll shell out that kind of money. Brian Shaw to me is the best candidate for the job, he's familiar with the triangle, and people like Kobe and Shaq have been really high on him for a while. Kobe, Pau, and Metta are comfortable in the triangle, so the transition wont be nearly as brutal as shifting to a completely different offense.
  14. What a [expletive]ing comeback for the Blazers. Batum was simply amazing in the third.
  15. Shaq just said DeAndre Jordan is the best center in the West. His hatred towards Dwight is just unreal.
  16. The Clippers second unit runs the floor better than any other team in the league. They're making a living off some of these wild shots.
  17. DeAndre Jordan has a better looking post game than Blake Griffin.
  18. Durant is just making it look easy. Thunder finally made a concerted effort to him the ball in the last two minutes of the game.
  19. And people say that Westbrook isn't a good playmaker. He's capable of running the point as long as he's playing with the right mindset.
  20. Durant cant pass to save his life. It's going to be interesting to see who steps up and closes the game out for the Bulls. Haven't seen a whole lot of Nate Robinson to this point.
  21. 8 assists, and 0 to's for Westbrook at the half. Looks like he got the memo.
  22. Mike Brown is the most incompetent offensive coach in the league. He constantly overplays the starters, his rotations are [expletive]ed up, and he doesn't utilize the bench to their potential (Meeks and Sacre should both be getting more playing time). The Princeton offense is a train-wreck. The pace is too slow, guys are out of position, and quite frankly the team isn't buying into the system. The man is supposed to be a defensive mastermind, but that hasn't showed as the Lakers rank near the bottom in most significant categories. The windows closing on him, despite the vote of confidence from Jim Buss. With the way things are transpiring I give it a month tops.
