So on the Scott Van Pelt Show this morning they brought up a couple rankings of the current best players in the NBA. They were absurd to say the least, and I got a pretty good kick out of them. One of the rankings was from Skip Bayless and the other from from another analyst, whose name I can't remember. So here's Bayless' list: 1) Dwayne Wade 2) Dirk Nowitzki 3) Kobe Bryant 4) Kevin Durant 5) Carmelo Anthony What I do remember from the other ranking is that LeBron and Kobe didn't even crack his top 5, Dirk was #1, Rose was #3 and Chris Paul, Zach Randolph, and Dwight Howard were somewhere on the list. What amazes me is the hit that LeBrons popularity has taken since the finals, when in fact he was arguably regarded as the best player in the league for a good part of the season. And I don't even want to start with Kobe, a healthy Kobe is still a top 3 player in the league and that's not even debatable imo. Kobe's athleticism has taken a hit as a result of age, but he's still the most fundamentally sound, clutch, talented offensive player in the league and he'll certainly prove that next season. Also the fact that Dwight didn't make Bayless' list is just mind boggling. I don't think there is any other player in the league who requires so much attention and forces teams to alter the way they defend the Magic. And lastly I think it's a stretch to have Melo in the top 5. He's a phenomenal offensive player, probably the second most fluent scorer behind Durant, but he's far too one dimensional for my liking. If he would exert himself more on the defensive end, then I might consider him in the top 5. For the time being he's probably top 10.

Finals GM6: Dallas at Miami (DAL 3-2)

LOL. -
He's Pippen because of his role on the team imo. If you're going to compare him to a star though I think the best comparion is to Magic. James has the same size and passing ability to Magic. And on top of that they're both versatile and can play multiple positions. However, Magic was clutch and I think and that's what separates them right now.

That's what you get when Eddy House is in the starting lineup, he has been late on atleast 3-4 rotations and he's easily beaten off the dribble. -

MVP race is going to get close if the Mavs close out today, Jason Terry is closing the gap between he and Dirk. -

Sucks that that happened during a timeout, or else we would be looking at some suspensions. If anything Chalmers should be suspended, there is no reason why he should even he involved in that. -

He flopped a little bit, but Chalmers still should have been called for an offensive foul. He extended his right arm. -

No one came up to Stevenson and gave him a couple punches to the chest. Both of the scenerios are completely different. I don't see what's wrong with Stevenson through up the three fingers, or am I missing something? -

Bullshit foul on Dirk, that's the break that the Heat needed.
