Yeah it's pretty crazy to think about. We can stand pat and get a ton of quality, young talent, or move up to draft a stud. I'm seriously hoping and wishing the management doesn't screw up this draft and waste all our picks.

Playoffs? You're expecting playoffs? I'd be shocked if we didn't finish last in the division.
-
I don't really care that much, it's just shocking news that he's playing for a division rival now... At the end of the day, I think this was the best deal on the table, and we took it. A high 2nd round pick is pretty valuable. I just wished they traded McNabb elsewhere, so I can root for him to succeed. I can't do that now. And we all know that, with or without McNabb, this Eagles team wasn't going to do much next year anyways. So this talk about McNabb coming back for "revenge" doesn't bother me. My expectations are at an alltime low now, which should be a positive. They won't let me down this year, finally.

Well, we will certainly be horrible next year. Probably last in the division. Looks like we are officially rebuilding, at least we have a ton of picks in the draft now, let's hope they use them wisely...

Drew's shooting 57% from the field as opposed to 52% and 46% from Pau and LO. Yes, he doesn't always pass the ball as much as I'd like for him to. Yes, he frustrates me at times, and yes, he's not a perfect player. But many times this season he's been our best big man, it's been more than just "he has his games." He has been our 2nd or 3rd best player on the court numerous times this season. You don't miss him just because of "depth," you miss him because of production. He's not disciplined on defense at times, but it sure as hell beats having Pau Gasol manning the middle. With Drew now for 8 games, and we're 4-4. We managed a .500 record, whupee!!! The statistics that were shown during the game showed that the team plays much better both offensively and defensively with Drew in the lineup, than with Drew without. We're a much better team with Drew healthy, than without him. Stop denying it. If we want to win the championship this year, we better hope he's 100% healthy and ready to go. Otherwise, we're going to have a rough time trying to repeat. -

LO can't replace Drew's production. Pau can't replace Drew's defensive presence. NOBODY can replace LO's production off the bench or come close to it. Losing Drew was a big hit for this team. You don't just lose someone who is the anchor of your defense and has the ability to put up 20/10 a night and expect nothing to happen. For our sake I hope Drew actually heals up this time and is ready to play in the playoffs (which I'm not really counting on based on the past). If not, we're going to have a lot of problems. -

You're saying we don't miss the 15/8 he averages every game? There have been numerous games this season when Pau showed up and played like a complete [expletive], and Drew had to step up to carry the load along with Kobe. Drew has outplayed Pau numerous times this season, we're missing both his play and his presence. To say otherwise is just ignorant. Unfortunately, the guy is made of glass. There's no telling when he's going to return. But we're going to need him if we're going to do anything this year. -

We miss Bynum so much. The graphic they showed about our stats with Drew in the lineup and without Drew is no lie. We're much better defensively and offensively with Drew. I seriously laugh at those who thought Drew's injury wasn't going to be a big deal, or even that it was going to be a blessing in disguise and help this team (LMFAO). You don't lose a player of Drew's caliber and benefit from it, some people were too stupid to see that. Our bench is complete [expletive], and now that LO is forced to start, we have no bench at all. It's 5 players plus a bunch of scrubs. Hopefully Drew comes back soon, we'll need him healthy and at 100% in the playoffs, but knowing Drew's injury history, I wouldn't count on it. -
Boston reminds me of LA. Can't stay focused for 48 minutes.

We used a 5th last year, if I remember correctly, to move up a couple of spots in the 1st round to nab Jeremy Maclin. I think we're just stockpiling picks so we have more opportunities to move up and get the guys we want, hopefully... We have so many holes now, it'll be interesting to see what management does to try to fill them. One thing is for sure, this will be the year I finally stop entering the season with high expectations, only to get my hopes crushed. I have no expectations now, wouldn't be surprised if we finish last in the NFC East.

I think Walton's returning today. Much needed break from seeing the idiots Farmar/Brown trying to facilitate the second unit. We'll finally get some ball movement off the bench. -

Bryant signed to 3 year extension
The Artesticle replied to bigdog17k's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
"Way too much, 18 mil a year max. " post #13 I have no problem with people saying we overpayed. We will obviously be overpaying during the final year of his contract. But I am fine with that to keep the core in tact, and obviously Buss has no problem either. This was where my Rashard Lewis comments were directed at... I don't know if it was sarcasm, or what... -

Kobe's birthday is in August. If you want to be technical about it, he'll be 35. And barring any major injury, I don't see any reason why he wouldn't be an elite player still in those years. Resigning to this deal allows us to keep the core together. So matter how you break it down, I don't see the big deal. Is it overpaying? Yes, but it's not my money. I'm bringing up Rashard Lewis to compare salaries, I thought it should've been pretty obvious. To say Kobe should be payed 18 million max is ridiculous, when Rashard Lewis will be making more (21 million) in a year or two. -

Kobe is 31 right now. The contract runs until 2013-2014. He'll be 34 by the time the contract expires... He'll still be one of the top players in the league, regardless of age, barring any major injury, which you cannot predict anyways. Is it overpaying? Sure, but it's not a big deal. It would be a big deal if he signed the deal for 5 years, but a 3 year extension is perfect. Rashard Lewis is making 18 million, going onto 23 million as his contract goes on, and Kobe definitely deserves more than that. Again, it's not my money. If Buss is willing to shell out the money, good for him . -

Rashard Lewis is making 18 million. Kobe deserves more. 25 million/year would be reasonable, he'll still be an elite player in 3 years. 30 million is overpaying, but again, it's not my money. If Buss wants to shell out 30 million then good for him. The sticking point for me are the years. 3 more years is the perfect length. -

Are you kidding me? I think 25/year is a fair deal for a player of Kobe's calibure. 30/year is quite large, but hey, if Buss is willing to pay then so be it. -
Gocong could be a good player though, Eagles just used him wrong. He was a pass rushing specialist in college and racked up sacks. But the Eagles, being the idiots they were, converted him to LB. I think he can be a solid addition if you guys use him right, move him back to his natural position, or maybe the 3-4 will be a better fit (I'm assuming that's what you guys run). He was never a good fit in Philly. I blame Reid.
