Lakers turn down trade for Beasley
The Artesticle replied to Real Deal's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
trading for beasley means we lose a 1st round pick and the LO trade exception... we might be holding onto it longer for a bigger deal. not gonna judge or complain til after the trade deadline. if we make this trade now we lose a lot of our assets -
ok

Ken Berger: Lakers front office in disarray

lol i wouldnt trade gasol for williams and beasley, let alone throwing in goudelock and a freaking first round pick. we would be absolutely raped in that scenario. -

Ken Berger: Lakers front office in disarray
The Artesticle replied to Dash's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
unlike everyone else, im going to give jim buss some time to prove himself before i bash him. lets not forget that under his command we pulled off a trade for chris paul, which many speculated couldve led to us acquiring dwight howard. im sure if that had gone down everyone in LA would be praising him and kissing his ass. not his fault stern decided to screw us over and reject the trade. obviously on the surface, according to the article, things dont look too good, but im not going to start bashing anybody yet. the lamar odom trade pissed me off, but we have yet to see what we're going to acquire with the trade exception, which expires next year, so until that's gone, we can't really evaluate the true value of the odom trade. so in all, im willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. i highly doubt the front office is as big of a mess as the article is trying to portray, obviously things are going to be different than when dr. buss was running things, and nobody likes change. but if jim buss is really messing around all day [expletive]ing up the organization, and everything his father has built for so many years, i have a difficult time believing dr buss would just sit there and let things happen, while his sons destroy everything and put a mockery to the family name. -
Starting Lineup of the NBA's Worst Starters
The Artesticle replied to Legacy's topic in General NBA Discussion
artest declined so much because after winning the first championship, he just doesn't care anymore. remember when we first signed him, he would have pictures and videos of himself working out on twitter? he sure as hell doesnt post that anymore. his first year here, when we won the championship, he used to always boast about how in shape he was. i remember reading an article that he would workout before games that year to get his legs tired, and then play the game on tired legs to push himself defensively. we dont see that level of dedication anymore. i mean, if he showed up out of shape on dancing with the stars (he could hardly breathe after his performance) what makes you think he will be ready for the basketball season? he was more out of shape than all the other celebrities on the show and hes the professional athelete. its obvious he hasnt worked on his game at all. he seems more interested in being a comedian now than anything else. either way, ill always like artest no matter what. he led us down the stretch in game 7 and i wont trade that for anything. just wish he would put in the time to work on his basketball game, or at the very least lose some weight and get into shape. at this rate though, we will probably amnesty him in the offseason. -

goudelock filled in very well when steve blake went down, provided us a huge spark off the bench and had multiple games with double digit scoring. he was like a breath of fresh air in an overall horrific season and gave us something to look forward to in the future. now that blake has returned, he has barely gotten off the bench the past 2 games. he has seen his minutes slashed at the expanse of [expletive]ing derek fisher, who hasn't given us shit all season. derek's shooting 35% from the field and 26% from three, he's still averaging 27 mpg while goudlelock's playing time has been slashed to 6-8 minutes. complete bullshit. goudelock's so much younger, quicker, and not to mention better at everything. an argument can be made that he is not a pure point guard, but lets face it, fisher is probably the worst point guard in the league and should've retired 5 years ago. at least years in the past, we could count on him to hit some open shots, this year he cannot even shoot. so what's the point of having him on the court? he cant shoot, cant pass, cant play defense, why not put in somebody who can actually play? the point guard rotation should be steve blake, who should be starting, with goudelock backing him up. fisher should not even be in the league right now yet hes starting for us and playing almost 30 minutes a game. it would be one thing if we didnt have any better options, but we do, which is infuriating. for some reason from phil jackson down to mike brown nobody in this organization has the balls to stand up to him and put him on the bench. if anybody else on the roster pulled half the shit derek has their ass would be pulled in a minute. i swear he gets away with more shit on the court than kobe does, im so sick of watching this buffoon slugging up and down the court every single game. to make matters worse, hes like the most durable player in the entire league and never gets injured. yes i am at the point where i am wishing him injury, i dont give a [expletive] anymore he needs to retire /rant
