Is Cleveland Really A "Top 5" Team
The Artesticle replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in General NBA Discussion
They're still a top 5 team in the league... -
If I remember correctly, didn't most people say this was a horrible trade to begin with? Only Cleveland or Shaq jockers were defending it. Anyways, I'm not surprised at all that the Shaq trade hasn't worked out yet. It's gonna take some time for Lebron and the rest of the team to get used to Shaq's presence, if that ever happens. With that being said, I predicted before the season started that Cleveland is the weakest of the Big 3 in the east (BOS, ORL, CLE), looks like I was right. I don't see the Cavs beating either BOS or ORL in a 7 game series, and I sure as hell don't see them taking out the Lakers.

Bring him back for some media buzz and initial excitement. Maybe sell a couple more tickets. Sixers are such a boring team... -

It really shows the competitive nature of the Buss family and that they'll do anything possible to help this team win. Winning is the #1 priority to them, and nothing else matters. I hope Jim Buss has success when he takes over in the future. I know a lot of Laker fans hated him during the Kobe fiasco (apparently he wanted Kobe traded, if I remember correctly), but everybody makes mistakes. It's also kind of hard to blame him given the circumstances of the time, since it didn't seem like we were going anywhere. Also, don't forget that Jim Buss was also the guy who pushed hard for Bynum when Phil and Mitch wanted us to take Sean May. What a disaster that would've been. And as the article mentions, Jim was the one who pushed the hardest for Ron Artest.

The Artesticle replied to The Artesticle's topic in Golden State Warriors Team Forum

Breaking news: Allen Iverson retires
The Artesticle replied to AboveLegit's topic in General NBA Discussion
"I’d like to give a special thanks to the people of Memphis. I never played a home game for your beloved Grizzlies, but I want you to know how much I appreciate the opportunity given me by a great owner in Michael Heisley, and the support of the city. I wish the Memphis Grizzlies’ organization all of the success that the game has to offer." lol Didn't know he didn't play a single game in Memphis as a Memphis Grizzly. I still like and appreciate everything he did as a Sixer though. I'm actually kind of sad he's retiring, wish he could've signed with the Bobcats to reunite with Larry Brown and play with Stephen Jackson -
It just popped into my mind that Yama isn't riding his jock 24/7 this year so I decided to check up on his stats. 6 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 0.8 bpg He is apparently injured and only played 4 games this season. Season's still young and there's still a lot of time left, but what is the extent of his injury? And why has he struggled so much to begin the season? I thought he was a beast and was > Bynum? Blame it on Nellie? Do you Warrior fan(s) (Yama and ...?) still expect him to bounce back this year and be in the running for an allstar spot? Because last year he was putting up great numbers and was really under the radar. Please answer my questions. Thank you. - very worried Andris Biedrins fan

Reggie Evans to See a Foot Specialist
The Artesticle replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
You guys are better off giving Amir Johnson the minutes since he's still young and developing. I'm not a big fan of Reggie Evans. Sure, he's a scrappy player. He's good at grabbing boards but beyond that he doesn't really contribute much. He doesn't have the ideal height and he's terrible offensively. I'd rather give the young more minutes... -
Breaking news: Allen Iverson retires
The Artesticle replied to AboveLegit's topic in General NBA Discussion
Well I liked him in Philly... sad because he still has a lot left in the tank. He can still easily contribute off the bench and possibly be in the running for 6th man of the year, if only he accepted a lesser role and tweaked his game a bit. Too bad he would rather go out like this rather than facing reality and helping a team win or contend for a championship. -
Well Pau has only played 3 games so far, but ok...

Kris Brown has now cost the Texans two games because he couldn't make a FG to tie up the game. Bummer. Sucks for the Texans, they need a new kicker.

Signing AI would bring nothing to this team, but at this point, why not. What's the worst that can happen? Just cut him and move on, I'm sure he wouldn't cost too much at this point. Sign AI, give him the starting spot. PG: Iverson SG: Iguodala SF: Young PF: Brand C: Dalembert bench: Speights (when he returns), Williams, Kapono Hey, this doesn't look like a bad lineup at all. Championship material? No where close, but it'll bring some excitement back into Sixer basketball, at the very least. At the very least it'll help put some butts into the seats. Like him or not, AI sells tickets. I think during the latter part of Iverson's stay in Philly, Sixer fans grew numb of him and stopped attending the games, but I'm sure if Ed brought him back, there would be a lot of initial excitement. I know for a fact that all the AI fanboys would be flocking back. In all, signing AI to a one year deal would be nothing more than a move to fill the seats, and maybe get some attention for once by the sports media, in a city dominated by the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers. But at this point, who cares? it's not like the team is going to do anything anyways, why not generate some buzz for the Sixers and sell some tickets? It's really pathetic how the Sixers, located in such a huge metropolis filled with die hard sports fans could garner so little attention and fan support. It just shows how boring the team really is. I think at this point, you just gotta do whatever possible to bring some excitement back. One more year of AI wouldn't hurt.

Kobe behind the backboard shot vs Thunder
The Artesticle replied to Be Like Mike's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
I said this before Kobe never amazes me with his trick shots... until last night. My jaw literally dropped to the floor when I saw him make the shot behind the backboard. Funny too, when he threw it up I just knew it was going in. That last second fling to beat the buzzer though, was just an ordinary Kobe play. Not surprised by it -
Avant is a beast in the redzone :]
