Ron visits one of my mods from TLN

He just showed up? What the hell Ron's a cool dude. -
The Big Kid, Shawn Andrews returned to practice today. Finally, we are getting our o-line healthy. Apparently Omar Gaither is now our starting MLB (as I predicted would happen). No knock against Joe Mays or anything, I like him as a player. He's a hard hitter and goes all out, but he is simply too small to be a starter in this league, and he's just not that good. He's a valuable piece to the special teams though, which is where he should see the majority of his playing time. Gaither is nothing special, but he's an average linebacker who has starting experience. Should be a decent stop gap until next season when Bradley returns. Also, apparently Quintin Demps is being pushed hard for his starting job. Rookie Macho Harris is making his statement to become starter. I think at the end of the day, Demps will still be our starting safety, but I've very encouraged by the way Macho has stepped up, as a 2nd day rookie, to compete for a starting job. I'm loving our rookies this year.

Kobe Bryant’s Secret Girlfriend

is this old news? i remember a rumor going around last year that kobe was banging some other white chick. -
Manny Ramierez looks like he chews tobacco, although it could just be gum. Whenever he goes up to bat it looks like he has a [expletive] load of crap in his mouth.

im not surprised by peters struggling, he's been injured all summer. this is his first game back healthy.

I understand preseason doesn't matter, but I was hoping for a bit more. The o-line has been pretty terrible (I understand about the injuries), but I don't want to start the season off with no chemistry. Guys like Peters and the Andrews brothers need to heal up and get their asses onto the field. Joe Mays or whoever they have trying to replace Stewart Bradley has not gotten the job done. Our LB corpse is weak. But you're right, it's just preseason. I just hate us doing stupid [expletive] near the goal line or not converting 3rd and short because we've been having these issues forever. I really think we need an upgrade at LB though. I don't have faith that Joe Mays can man the middle effectively, to go along with GoCong and Jordan.

Vick looked good in his limited playing time. He had nice zip on his throw to Baskett, wish he could've gotten more minutes though. The fans gave him a standing ovation when he first came in, to make him feel more welcomed. I thought it was a nice gesture. I really look forward to seeing how Andy will utilize Vick's presence, I'm sure he'll have some tricks up his sleeve. As for the rest of the team, they haven't impressed me at all this preseason. I know it's preseason and things will be sloppy, but the offense, defense, and special teams have been wildly inconsistent. Surprisingly enough, the rookies: Maclin, McCoy (he's been a stud), and Gibson have been the most impressive. Our offensive line has been injured all summer. With the exception of Jamaal Jackson, our entire o-line has been injured and out. We just got to see Stacy Andrews and Jason Peters in action today, and they looked rusty as hell. The defense has been depressing as well. They haven't been getting pressure and the secondary is getting beat. Without Bradley out there, our linebackers look average/below average, which won't get the job done. Although I won't put too much stock into all this, because some of our key guys like Trent Cole haven't seen the field too much, I've been pretty disappointed by this team so far. My biggest problem is that they just look sloppy as hell, from first unit down. They've been getting stupid penalties and just haven't played too well. We still struggle to score the ball when we're in the red zone, which killed us last year. I'm not gonna get too worried, but I hope all this gets fixed before the season starts, which will be hard because we have so many guys out. btw, Kolb and the guys just rallied us back and we may win. wtf...

Beasley's Dad says he doesn't use marijuana
The Artesticle replied to Diesel's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
marijuana isn't even a big deal. Checking into rehab because of weed? You don't see that often. If he really is suicidal, then I wish him the best. I wonder what triggered it? I always thought he was a fun, good humored kid. I think one of the knocks against him during the draft was his immaturity, because he joked around too much. Never expected this from Beasley... -
Ron Ron vs. John Green on Monday Night Raw
The Artesticle replied to a topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Well I visited TLN during the LO fiasco, and pretty much all the info you reported was false (including all the other "insiders"). You even stated that you weren't an insider. Not trying to discredit you but it's kinda hard to believe this from a guy on the internet. Post the pic you have with Ron! And what news did you break in the past anyways. -

no he isn't and no he isn't he's just a mod on TLN which is why he knows (since Ron posts there) -
Jackson, Curtis, Maclin, and Avant should be locks to make the roster. It comes down to Baskett, Brown, and Gibson. Gibson is just a rookie, and has been extremely impressive in training camp and the preseason. The coaches have nothing but positives to say about him, so I find it hard to believe he'll be the odd man out. He has so much potential, I think he can be one of the steals of the draft. For me, it's either Baskett or Brown. If I had to choose, goodbye Reggie Brown, it's been nice knowing you. I had so much expectations for the guy, he's just fallen flat on his face. He's not really good at anything, and unlike Baskett, he doesn't have the size, or the ability to play special teams. I think out of the two, Baskett clearly has more tools, plus he has his reality show with Kendra. Goodbye Reggie Brown.

The Mavs and Spurs pretty much got these guys for free this offseason. So who do you guys think is the better player? 3-4 years ago I would've gone with Marion for sure, but I'm not sure anymore with the stinkers he put up in Miami and Toronto.

this isn't even a contest lil wayne is straight up trash. i can't even listen to him now because his voice just annoys the [expletive] out of, plus he's garbage.

http://www.cleveland.com/ohio-sports-blog/index.ssf/2009/08/lebron_james_tells_espn_im_loo.html I find his quote kind of funny. I don't know why he doesn't just come out and say Cleveland is his #1 choice, or that he will return next year, which is what Wade did. Seems like he's very noncommittal and his quote makes it seem like he's trying to reason his departure or something. Either he's serious about bolting for NY, or he's just an attention whore, not that the latter actually surprises anyone.

Hey Phightins, any explanation on why Hamels and Lidge are struggling this year? They were both fantastic last season. Hamels's ERA so far is 4.78 which is terrible, and apparently Lidge has been terrible for pretty much the entire season. Any reason why their play dropped off so much? Especially Hamels, who is still very young.

Eagle fans have no right to throw a fit. I'm an Eagles fan, and honestly I wouldn't even put them in the top 10 at this point. They have proven nothing. Maybe we look good on paper, but that's useless if you do not perform. With the exception of Jamaal Jackson, our entire starting o-line has been injured all summer and preseason.
