It's only 40 million guaranteed. Good for Vick, but I'm willing to bet he's gone after year 3.

Javaris Crittenton Charged With Murder
The Artesticle replied to Dr. Feelgood's topic in General NBA Discussion
Arenas picked the wrong guy to [expletive] with. on a serious note, I remember when the Lakers drafted him, the coaching staff was praising his talent and Tex Winter even said that Critt had allstar potential. Sad to see how far he's fallen. He showed flashes during his short stint as a Laker, and even though I loved the Pau trade I was sad to see him go. I'm not really sure what happened after that. I always recalled him as being a humble guy with a good sense of humor based off his interviews as a Laker. I never would've expected him to flop out the league so fast and get charged with murder... this guy wasted all his talent and opportunity. -

Worst mistakes your favorite team has ever made?
The Artesticle replied to Smitty's topic in NFL Football

This move is a little surprising. I guess I understand why Giant fans are upset, but I'm willing to bet the Eagles were the only team out there remotely interested in him, and probably offered him more money than anybody else. I thought I read somewhere that Smith's injury was career threatening (not 100% sure) but knowing the Eagles and their past, they are willing to take on low risk high reward type gambles with player injuries. Also, the Eagles just signed and payed more money to an injured receiver than Desean Jackson will earn this year. He can't be too happy about that, but I'm certain the two sides are working on a new deal. Hopefully they'll get something done or else it's certainly a slap in the face.

Ronnie Brown to the Eagles. Good pickup. We finally got our backup running back, who Reid will use about once or twice a game.

I don't care if they lose the Superbowl in a sense. Obviously I'd care but this offseason they are truly making a point to go for it all. I don't have any problems with the big moves they are making and for once they seem willing to spend at all costs to win. For that I give them big props for, and no matter what the outcome, at least this offseason they are truly gunning for the big win.
-
If we cut Asante hopefully we can use some of that money to sign a linebacker. Another starting linebacker, some OL depth, and maybe a veteran safety would make this offseason perfect IMO.
-
aso - asante - dcr what happens? do we keep all three? aso is for sure safe, and i'm guessing they aren't looking to trade dcr because we just acquired him. does that leave asante as the odd man out? damn this offseason has been crazy. if we can somehow make some upgrades at LB and get more OL depth we'll be set. good job Andy Reid

Eagles pull stunner, land Nnamdi Asomugha
The Artesticle replied to ChosenOne's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
so now we have asante, aso, and drc, i wonder if we keep all three or do we flip one of them to help upgrade. we still need another LB and some depth at OL imo. other than that I'll just pray for health but the team looks pretty nasty -

Might as well start this thread since the lockout has ended.... Apparently we're looking to trade Kolb to the Cards for DCR. Not sure how I feel about this. I hope we take the best deal on the table and if this is it, then go for it.

hahhaha holy shit Cena got owned

I have a question about this pick. I was reading about him recently and it seems like he is weak defensively. I've read that he was out muscled quite a bit in Europe. I know he's only 19 so he'll add more muscle to his frame, but is drafting a center with defensive deficiencies really the best move when you have Bargnani playing at power forward? It seems like they'll be two revolving doors and teams will eat them up in the paint, since neither are known for their force on defense. And neither provide much of a presence. Or maybe I'm completely off base here since I also heard JV is a good shot blocker.
-
so it's gonna be Ernie, Kenny, Charles, CWebb, and Shaq at the studio? would they have to extend the table to fit all of them? lol anyways, definitely looking forward to this. Shaq's going to make the show even more entertaining.

Sonny Weems Close to Signing Overseas
The Artesticle replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
Strange. Reading what you wrote about Sonny Weems, you could also use the same details to describe Shannon Brown's game. lol -
Lakers - B I liked the Morris pick, but love getting Adnrew Goudelock. He can shoot lights out, and I'm hoping this can translate into the NBA. Hopefully he'll provide us with a good spark off the bench. I'd say we did a decent job based off of the picks we had to work with. Our last two picks didn't make any sense but one was traded to Denver. I'm not gonna whine about the 3rd to last pick of the draft, I guess nobody left caught their eye.

Lakers & Sixers discuss Iguodala deal
The Artesticle replied to Dash's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
trade makes no sense for both teams we already have a defensive stopper in artest. obviously iggy is younger, more athletic, and he would be an upgrade over artest, but not at the cost of lamar odom as well. this trade doesn't do much for me other than the fact that we made a "change," but i dont see this improving us in anyway if we give up both artest AND odom. trade doesn't make sense for the sixers either, for obvious reasons. -
Can't base it off experience because I don't listen to radio, but I heard he is very good.
