Gunman, 6 more dead at Wisconsin Sikh temple
EastCoastNiner replied to ChosenOne's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
The guy is probably some idiot who thinks all Middle Eastern people are Muslims, yet he shot Sikh's................. Some people are just moronic. -
I'm not sure how you can definitively say that one of those teams is going to win the division. The NFC East is by far the hardest division to predict. I really have no clue what's going to happen, but the Giants should be shown some respect. I can't even make a prediction right now, but the Giants have all the tools to win that division.

http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/7986979/redemption-brian-banks I'm not saying that all rape cases are garbage and complete lies, but when there's a rape case in court, I think the men (assuming they are the accused) do not often feel good about their chances. They probably feel that if they plead not-guilty, they may get 25+ years even if they are innocent, whereas if they take a plea-deal, they'll give up some of their life, but will know that they will get out of jail eventually, unless they mess up. Rape cases often consist of her word versus his word, and men seem to get the short end of the stick often times.

Outrageous? She violated a court order. Those kids could have pleaded not-guilty and gotten off on the charges possibly, yet took the plea-bargain in order to not take that risk, and not have their names released. This was also a sexual assault charge, and not a rape charge, so who knows what actually happened? There's a chance that she was drunk, regretted her decisions, and says she was assaulted. I know there are pictures of the assault, but many people keep saying the kids raped her, which is not what they were charged for.

I've seen so many damn things about 9/11 conspiracies. Do I blame people for not trusting the government completely? No, I do not blame them for that. When I see new theories and "evidence" that may lead one to think 9/11 was an inside job or something of that sort, I revert back to a few simple questions that need no physical evidence to answer: 1. Eye-witness accounts and video of planes actually hitting the towers. 2. Phone-calls from the planes to loved ones, although I briefly read some stuff about how those calls could have been voice-altered or some shit that I really didn't care to read. 3. I'm not sure how no leaks could happen with something this big.

I said earlier that I have no clue. I just don't know how anything happened, but I do believe that there is a higher power. I don't know why or how, but I just choose to believe there is. You may think it's blind thinking, but I do think there is a higher power. I don't base all of my opinions or even many of my opinions on religion. I think many people use religion to try and explain things when it makes zero sense, and people like to hide behind religion. I just don't know.

At the end of the day, if there's on thing I don't think I will ever be convinced about, it's how the world became to be because I will always question how something can exist without coming from something else....that existed. I just won't understand how something can come from nothing. It just hurts my head to think about.
-
I didn't read the entire sequence of events, but I just think it's dumb that a topic like this somehow turns into an evolution debate. And, yes, I know the resident conspiracy theorist was the one who brought it up, but still.......... We should just get this back on topic for the discussion about this. I think there should just be an entire topic for evolution/creationism/religion....... Carry on though.

My post was not questioning gravity whatsoever, so I suggest you read that post again. I am asking where the dust and stars magically come from. In regards to my comment about gravity, I'm saying you having evidence that gravity exists doesn't mean anything when trying to figure out how the universe was created because everything had to come from somewhere. It's a question that will never be answered.
-
You always bitch and moan about others going off-topic, yet you do this all the damn time with your evolution/religion based thinking talk. Stop brining it in every damn thread. It's like you're so hung up on trying to get people to just believe in evolution and not have their own beliefs.
-
Where did this dust come from? Where did the stars come from that supposedly formed this dust? You having evidence about gravity means as little as some people just following their religion. You have more scientific evidence and proof about certain things, but that evidence has never, not once answered the bigger questions.

I think about this sometimes, but it drivers me crazy to think about. Do we come back to earth as a Zebra or a whale? I really have no clue what happens after we die, but I'd like to think we stay the same person in some other life. At the end of the day, people that bash others for believing in a higher power have as little evidence as those that believe in a higher power. Please explain to me how this world was created. Explain to me how little particles collided when those little particles had to come from something, and that something came from something. I can't explain how the world started because I have no damn clue.

I would not shed a tear if that were to happen. You want to give him an Xbox 360, a flat-screen t.v., and nice bed for the rest of his life instead? There's no need to keep him in a cell where he's wasting taxpayer money when there's no question he was the one who committed the crime. At the very least, he should be put to death very quickly. Edit: That is not what I am saying at all. All I am saying is revenge on the actual killer would not be opposed by me. No, I don't think his family should be harmed in any manner whatsoever. I am specifically talking about the killer, and the killer alone.
-
It's not just about "healing the wound". That isn't what prison is about either. Give him the same pain that these families are going through. He deserves a lot of pain.
-
Oh, so what should we do, "rehabilitate" him? It's people like you that lead to violent criminals and potential murderers getting out of prison and going back to killing people and committing terrible acts of violence. You're the same person that thinks Anders Breivik should have such a lavish prison and not even have to face a life sentence (the years he was sentenced to). Edit: I read you post wrong, and thought you said he shouldn't be put to death. I missed the tortured part, but I still wouldn't have a problem if he were to be tortured.
