Let's Be Honest.......Rose Isn't That Great
EastCoastNiner replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
The only reason he won the MVP is because the media wanted a new face to win it. If it were coaches and GM's that were voting on it, Rose would never sniff an MVP. -

Let's Be Honest.......Rose Isn't That Great

The guy's probably a top 3 PG and maybe a top 10 player, but putting in the top five or anywhere near it is absurd. He gets so much undeserved credit and hype that it's ridiculous. Care to tell me I'm wrong about the facts I stated? -
The guy's been a choker his entire life. Whether it's when he played for Memphis, got owned by LeBron, consistently fails to get to the line. etc. If he was playing in a smaller market on a poor team, he'd be absolutely exposed as just a scorer. Keep getting benched in the last minute because your own coach knows you're not that good. Try shooting better tan 40% as well. The only reason he doesn't get crap from people is because he's humble, or he'd just be another Arenas, Francis, etc.

It sucks for the people that live there that are brainwashed from a young age. Someone's going to wipe them off the map sooner or later.

Anybody who says their up to something must be racist!!!!!

Look at the other titles of the videos that person has uploaded. The titles on some of them are hilarious. .

That's fine. I think we were agreeing more than disagreeing. If you open up the topic, I think the discussion will be more civil than last time as Zimmerman is now arrested. This is my last post about that case in this thread.
-
I agree with you once again, for the most part. I guess the only part I disagree with, whether it's socially right or wrong, is that I think most people do stereotype people based on race and other factors in certain situations, and I don't always think that's wrong. I wouldn't reject someone from a job because they are black, asian, hispanic, or whatever origin they may be. However, if I see a white biker with lots of tattoos down south who waves around a confederate flag, my first guess may be that he might not like black people. I would venture to guess that you may make that assumption as well, whether it's right or wrong. Zimmerman may have very well unjustifiably killed Trayvon Martin, but I'm just waiting for his day in court to come to a final decision.

What the [expletive], man?!?!?!?! How can someone do this to an animal. This is just disgusting. That first picture they showed where t's pretty much skin and bones was horrifying. http://www.godvine.com/Dog-Gets-Tossed-Away-Like-Garbage-But-a-Miracle-Rescue-Saves-Him-1339.html

I only see these videos when someone posts them on Facebook, but this site has videos that get me every time. http://www.godvine.com/Woman-Who-Went-Through-an-Unimaginable-Trial-Makes-Judges-Cry-1369.html

I'd agree that many whites also thought he should be arrested, but many of those are people that just go with the popular opinion or what they hear about on the news without actually hearing both sides. Now, I'm not saying that there isn't a reason for white people or black people to want Zimmerman arrested and charged, but I think it's naive to think that African American's aren't just rallying because it was a person of color that was killed, regardless of the facts in the case. Do I think that there are many times where African American's get together and rally to stop acts of racism? Yes, I certainly do, and there are whites that join them as well, and it's great people want to stop racism. However, I think over the years, those rally's have become more about rallying for a "minority of ones kind" regardless of facts in the case, and less about an actual act of racism. African Americans and our generation in general tend to be influenced rather easily by the media or social networking, and it's easy to get people riled up to want to "rally". Put your race aside and just answer this question honestly, whether you think it's right or wrong: In today's society, in a neighborhood with many break-ins during recent times, which person is going to look more suspicious to you? An 18 year old white kid wearing a jacket with no hood, or an African American, wearing a hoodie, with a gold tooth, and one that is a football player? You can say it's racial profiling, but I think it's playing the odds.

College Basketball Offseason Discussion
EastCoastNiner replied to Flash's topic in General NCAA Discussion
Terrible decision. Enjoy going to a school whose basketball team will be a train wreck, yet again. -
Al Sharpton is the biggest racist there is. He's a scumbag as well. And, I'm not sure how you can sit here and deny that African American's don't have an influence in a situation like this. Often times in cases like these, African American's will just join together because the victim is black, and they feel like they have to defend "their own" without even knowing all of the facts. It's the same for Hispanics as well. Harvard, MIT, UMASS ISB, ect. Ten times better than New York or any other states higher education.

Even when the Flyers were losing, they still looked like the better team. I told some idiot that when the Flyers were down 3-0 and he kept bitching at me, and now I can't wait for the crow he will need to eat. .

We should re-open the Zimmerman/Martin thread.......... The second shittiest state in the U.S. succumbing to pressure from blacks.

Wade wants compensation for Olympic play
EastCoastNiner replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
Yes, I agree that he should be "honored" to play for his country and shouldn't need money to play, but that's just not the way it is today unfortunately. It's nice to think that people will put money aside and just play for pride, but that's not how it is today. Generally, I will never fault and athlete for chasing the money as at the end of the day, it's a business, but I don't think they should get a fortune for playing in the Olympics. There should be some happy medium, and from what I've read they still get paid for winning a medal. Not to mention that they are getting a TON of exposure which could help with jersey sales and each player's shoe deals..... I think you're kidding yourself if you think he wasn't serious. He's not going to just say it in a joking manner. -
I can't wait for tonight! For whatever reason I thought the Rangers and Senators were tonight as well, but I guess they're tomorrow. I want to see some physical hockey from the Penguins and Flyers tonight!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFrjVx4B9X8&feature=player_embedded I didn't notice the girl bitching about Edmonton until the second time I watched the video. That franchise needs something good to happen to them.
-
Ummmm, you end up with the 5th overall pick........
-
I have nothing against the Rangers at all. I have said it the entire season that I just don't trust their offense, and I need to see Lundqvist show up in the playoffs before I can trust him fully. I'm going overboard with the choking comments, but I just don't trust them. Maybe I'll be wrong, but I just don't trust the Rangers. I'm not here saying that about the Flyers and Penguins, so there's no bias. I just see their offense hurting them in the end.

I'm not sure. I'll go with the following: Flyers Senators Devils Blackhawks Canucks Predators Sharks
