  1. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/22/nfl-players-think-brady-is-the-man-to-build-a-team-around/ If a team were to build around a player for years to come, even with age as a question, Tom Brady was voted by 272 NFL players as the top player to build around. Peyton Manning was a somewhat close second pick, with Rodgers far back as the next top player to build around.
  2. Saw that one coming from a mile away. Anyways, the Giants have the weakest secondary in the NFL. When fans are complaining that "T2" is hurt, you know your secondary sucks. If Eli gets his head out of his ass, the Giants could take this game, but Eli has sucked so far.
  3. I'm expecting something around a 42-10 victory for the Patriots. It's going to be beautiful.
  4. It was all Dirk. Let's use Kidd's previous years as a way to make him seem like he was a HOF player last year. .
  5. Anyways, the Eagles should win this game, but anything can happen. Hopefully Vick and the Eagles can exploit the leagues weakest secondary.
  6. Are you still bitter that New York has been Boston's bitch for the past decade? It's never going to change either, and that's great. You're Boston's bitch. Now, please, bend over and take it like you guys have been doing for years.
  7. Taking threads off-topic as usual? I'm shocked.
  8. You really went out on a limb there....... No one would be surprised.
  9. I don't think the trade is as bad as some of you guys are making it out to be. I don't think Bowe will do that much this year, especially with Charles out. Teams will cover him very well as they don't have to focus on Charles. Yes, Mendenhall is by far the best piece in this deal, but Hightower is still averaging 84ypg. I don't think it's as bad as some of you are making it out to be.
  10. Never going to give you up =/= Never gonna give you up
  11. Basketball is different then the three other major U.S. sports. One player "can" win you a championship, with some slight help, but you won't win one in the other sports with just one player, granted there's more players in the other sports. There's a reason the Penguins have only won one Stanley Cup despite having two of the top three players in the NHL (I think they are), and it's not just because of injuries. You need a complete team effort.
  12. It's interesting to see the different thoughts. I think it may depend on the particular situation, but it's just interesting how sometimes a team can "choke", yet the "better" team somehow still won....
  13. So, if a team chokes (they were the favorites and regarded as the better team before the game), then they should still be considered the better team if they "choke" because if they choked, that means they were thought of as the better team, right?
  14. I've said this many times, but the NFL needs to cut the shit with overprotecting QB's and players in general with some weak ass calls. I don't have a problem with helmet to helmet hits being called when they are deliberate, or when linemen go for a QB's knees late, but most of these calls are absolutely terrible, and the worst part is the fines associated with it. This is a sack on Phillip Rivers that Andre Carter made, which was called roughing the passer, and somehow he was fined 15k for this? Seriously, Goodell is not fit to be the commissioner of this league and should be removed. He's a moron. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej5R977axxo Here's another play that I have no clue as to why it was a personal foul. Go to around the 25 second mark on Gronkowski's TD. How the hell is that a penalty? . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X51CGE5F3SE
  15. Alright, I've thought of this before, and seen it discussed other places before, but is there really such a thing as "choking" in the playoffs and Championships? I'm not saying a team can't "choke", but if they "choke", then are they still considered the better team, since they would have been the favorites in that situation. Basically I'm saying, if a team going into the game is considered the favorite, and happen to lose, and people consider it a choke, then that must mean that the better team actually lost, right?
  16. Maybe Brian Hartline or Marshawn Lynch, but nothing major. I like Roy Williams a lot as well.
  17. Steven Jackson is on the block. If I could get a few quality WR's, and a serviceable HB, I would definitely consider moving him. I don't need an elite WR or elite HB, but some solid depth would be great!
  18. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/22/two-bengals-caught-up-in-marijuana-mess/related/ Yet, neither of them were arrested? .
  19. You may not think this was a poor trade, but I was thinking of the Portis for Bailey trade. That trade did nothing to help the defense for the Broncos either. I don't like the way he handled McNabb either. I'm just not a fan of Mike Shannahan, but if there's on team I'd like to see win the NFC East, it's by far the Redskins.
  20. The season needs to start already! It's going to be exciting to see which young players are going to make the team. Maybe Spooner or Knight can crack the lineup, or maybe Pouliot will take that sport, which is probably the plan. This could be an excellent season. Also, Dougie Hamilton has supposedly looked very good in camp so far, which is very exciting. I also hope Seguin can have a Stamkos like sophomore season...... . That would be nice....... It's also sad to think that one of the spots being open is in part to Marc Savard and his injury. It's terrible to see a player go through what he's gone through. He was truly one of the best playmakers in the league when he was healthy. It's a damn shame that he's probably done because it's hard to imagine any doctor would clear him to play. It's still tough to swallow that no one on the ice for the Bruins really went after Matt Cooke after the hit. Maybe they all didn't see it, but they went over in his direction, so they knew he did something.
  21. I'm willing to trade Steven Jackson...........
