[quote name='illwill21' timestamp='1316569526' post='288795' Alright. I guess we both agree that Goodell should do something about it, at least. Yes, but he obviously won't. That guy is as inept as they come, but that's for another thread and another day. There's no more that needs to be said about the injuries because we obviously don't disagree about the principle of it.
-
They made good points, so why not mention them? I don't completely agree with the fine amount that was suggested, and Goodell sure as hell won't do anything to harm his beloved New York teams, but this is turning in to soccer with this garbage.

"Section 2 Extraordinarily Unfair Acts Article 1 The Commissioner has the sole authority to investigate and take appropriate disciplinary and/or corrective measures if any club action, non-participant interference, or calamity occurs in an NFL game which he deems so extraordinarily unfair or outside the accepted tactics encountered in professional football that such action has a major effect on the result of the game. [Article 2 not relevant] Article 3 The Commissioner’s powers under this Section 2 include the imposition of monetary fines and draft-choice forfeitures, suspension of persons involved in unfair acts, and, if appropriate, the reversal of a game’s result or the rescheduling of a game, either from the beginning or from the point at which the extraordinary act occurred. In the event of rescheduling a game, the Commissioner will be guided by the procedures specified in Rule 17, Section 1, Articles 5 through 11, above. In all cases, the Commissioner will conduct a full investigation, including the opportunity for hearings, use of game videotape, and any other procedure he deems appropriate. " Fine Coughlin $100,000-$250,000 and the team $500,000. I bet you they don't pull that crap again. Again, it's not just the Giants, but it was very obvious last night.

The NFL needs to step up and start fining teams like the Giants for the shenanigans and faking of injuries garbage that they pulled last night while St. Louis was in the no huddle. The officials can't really do anything about it, but the NFL can and should. It's cowardly, Busch-league, embarrassing, and flat out pathetic. The Giants aren't the only team that's done it this year, but the NFL needs to step up and stop this garbage. It's pathetic. The way those chumps went down at the same time looking at the sidelines was no accident. They have been taught and told to do this from their coach. And, even though I doubt anyone here really remembers it, I'll get it out of the way in case you do and want to troll. The Patriots did the same thing against the Colts before, and it was pathetic then, and it pathetic now.

Dallas Cowboys 2011-12 Season Thread
EastCoastNiner replied to fish7718's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
All I am saying is I don't think that one nice performance during the second week of the season against the 49er's should shut all of his "haters" up like a lot of the media has been saying. I never really disliked him as a QB, but I just don't see how this performance should change most people's opinions about him, whether they have liked him or not liked him. It was a good performance by him though. -
I don't even know where to rank Manning anymore.....

Dallas Cowboys 2011-12 Season Thread
EastCoastNiner replied to fish7718's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
I'm not trying to play Debbie Downer or anything, but I don't get all of the Romo love after one game. The problem with him was never his toughness, but poor play in the clutch, and I don't see how a blown coverage against a poor team changes everyone's opinion about him. -
OldChilli...............
-
That's why it should have been offensive. The Giants had the fist full of jersey, as shown on the replay as well.
-
That was a shitty PI call, and an even shittier pass by Manning on the next play.

I....need....major.....help. Excluding Fred Jackson, the four other WR's/HB's starting for me this week scored a combined.............wait for it.................wait for it......................wait for it........................... 6.7 TOTAL points. . Somehow I'm still an absolute beast and put up 134 points......
-
Here's a quick list. Tell me who you believe should not be on it in place of Nash. Crosby Ovechkin Malkin Datsyuk St. Lous H. Sedin D. Sedin Kesler St. Louis Perry Stamkos Iginla Selanne Zetterberg B. Richards M. Richards E. Staal P. Kane Toews Giroux Getzlaf Kopitar Ryan Thornton Backstrom Kovalchuck Parise Hossa Spezza Semin Lecavalier Lidstrom Chara Keith Doughty Weber Suter There are some I left off, and some that I don't think are better than him that may be on there, but who are you taking off?
-
That's a terrible throw.....
-
Just giving a quick glance at the top scorers from last season, there's no way he's in my top 25, especially if I include defense-men. I'm not saying you think he is top 25, but I'm just saying where I would put him.
-
Oh, I'm not saying they won't make the playoffs, but I'm just saying I don't consider Nash to be "elite", by what I perceive as elite. I haven't given it much though, but top 25 still seems very high for me to rank him. I'll post in a little where I would have him for sure.
-
So, if the Giants happen to lose this game, are you still going to be "stunned" or whatever adjective you used to describe the possibility of a 6-10 record? The Giants really need this game.
-
I'll start by saying I think he is an excellent complimentary piece for a team, but he is not a franchise player. I know points are not everything, but he has less 70 point seasons than Patrice Bergeron (no slight on either player), but I'm sure most people would have never thought that. I'm not using Bergeron because he's a Boston Bruins player, but because he helps illustrate my point. Now, I know you will probably want to point to the players around him, but the decrease in points from Nash to the next few players on his team are not that big compared to drop-offs of many elite players in the NHL compared to their teammates. Would I love him on the Bruins? Yes, because I think he is a great complimentary piece, but would I want him as the face of the franchise and the best player on the Bruins? No, I would not, because I don't think he will lead a team on his own. I don't know where I'd rank him off the top of my head, but I doubt I have him in my top 25.

My team is just too good for anyone to handle. It's going to be a glorious season! :glasses: .
-
He tops my most overrated player list.
-
Brady is on pace for almost 8,000 yards and 56 TD's . I think he will end up breaking 5,000 yards, but not too sure about the TD's.....
-
I think the worst part about that game was the crowd......what the hell?
-
LOL!
-
The Patriots have not been playing nearly as well as they can, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The defense is particular. They have been disappointing so far.
-
If you play me, you can play a kid that has Brady, Gronkowski, Hernandez, Riddley, Vereen, Price, Gostkowski, and the Patriots DEF. .
-
A few too many mistakes by the Chargers is what did them in. Mike Tolbert's fumble did the Chargers in.
