Most of the national writers are saying on twitter that this could be death penalty stuff for UNC football "Asst coach taking money from agent to steer players would be most devastating NCAA case in years. UNC football may be in huge trouble"- Dan Wetzel "North Carolina is about to really become a basketball school -- because it may not have a football program after this." - Sports Illustrated's Andy Staples "Yahoo story pounds some very detailed nails into North Carolina's football coffin." - ESPN's Pat Forde "Asst coach taking money from agent to steer players would be most devastating NCAA case in years. UNC football may be in huge trouble"- Dan Wetzel "Where is this UNC case headed? I will quote the venerable Gene Smith:"It always falls back on the institution.' Reggie Bush wasn't a USC employee. John Blake was asst. head coach on payroll -- and allegedly on the take. Risking jrs and seniors at UNC need to start looking at transfer ops. major sanctions mean no sitting out."- Dennis Dodd, CBS "It's not unheard of for coaches to serve as runners. It is unheard of for them to get caught. If thats UNC, then it makes case significant." - Andy Staples "The fact that Blake is acknowledging & talking aboutt getting $ from an agent w SoS is devastating for UNC's athletic admins. On. The. Record."- Synergy Sports Representation

How did Boston acquire those guys? Last time I checked they got Ray on draft night and KG through Jefferson, a top 10 pick. Draft picks can be acquired through trades than then you can land a good player by trading picks. They traded for Rondo on draft night too IIRC. The Heat drafted Wade and then traded to get the guys they wanted through trades. The whole point of this is that at the end of the day the way a team is run from the top, starting with management is usually going to be the difference between how good or bad they're going to be.

LMFAO I just finished watching the end. That was awesome.

Again, you don't need to come in here if you don't want to or if you don't like the topic. Its not that hard.

Either way, that kid deserves to get his [expletive] kicked for all the [expletive]assness he shows.

Link fail.

Kevin Durant is an example here, so is LBJ and many other top picks. That's how you see bottom teams end up going to the top of the league through the draft. Not every season is going to be a winning one. The draft is there so that the bottom teams can get a player to build around for their future or to add another piece to a team who might almost be a playoff team. Then that leads into free agency where those middle of the road teams usually have enough cap space to gain some nice additions. What's wrong with that though? They drafted this entire team and built it to what it is today. That's the draft helping a team at its finest. So if they have to give up Green that's fine, its part of the business that is the NBA. They'll find someone else. Boston sucked until they got the Big 3. They've been winning for 3 years now. The Lakers were a decent team until Pau came along and Bynum grew into a stud. The Heat have been miserable for years since Wade hurt the shoulder. The difference with the teams I just mentioned though is quality management resulting in good drafts and good trades and that's why they're at the top. Stern isn't the one drafting these guys and developing the talent on these teams. At some point its time to hold management accountable for the failure of some teams and not just say Stern only wants the big markets involved. Is San Antonio a bigger market than LA? Is Detroit? I don't think so and those teams were involved in plenty of NBA finals this past decade.

Then how bout you just don't read the thread? Easy solution.

I understand not everyone likes it. I think we all knew that coming in. However, no one broke any rules here as far as we know and we weren't the only team who could've done this type of thing. We were just the only one who went out and tried to do it. I actually have to say that I'm impressed with the Laker fans here though. I figured once this happened they'd be all over us non-stop the entire off-season. There were a couple dumb threads IIRC but the majority of you guys were confident enough in your team not to make a huge deal out of this. Like I've said before, I don't think any of us have actually gone out there and gone out of our way to talk crap to the other fanbases on here because we respect all you guys' teams. Its different when some guy comes in here talking smack about one of our players because what else are we gonna do? Not defend our own player? This whole thing has just gotten stupid tbh. I've said it already that its time to move on and I think by the time the season starts most everybody will have done that.
-
That's just the guys opinion. I don't agree with it but he's got the right to an opinion. As for the prediction thread for the Heat, most of us had the team winning multiple titles which is just a scenario we'd like to see considering we're Heat fans. I don't know of anyone on here who's gone out and said we'll beat the Bulls record either.
-
Can we get some examples of where Heat fans have crossed the line in anything we've said? i'd really like to see what we've said so far that has everyone like this.
-
Yep. Smart man right there.
-
Being 2-0 in the division early on is big for any team. Regardless of who they've lost to.
-
Is Rubio going to be playing in this one?
-
Let me also add the Clippers. Baron, Gordon, Griffin and Kaman is a NICE core along with DeAndre Jordan too off the bench and now you add Aminu, Bledsoe, Willie Warren and Randy Foye and that's a nice team.
-
Healthy Detroit team > Indiana. Let's not forget they still have Prince and Hamilton, plus Gordon was injured all of last year and I think that Washington is a potential 8th seed with that backcourt depth.

LeBron says Heat 'will let our game do the talking'

This. This argument is getting tired, fast. -
Just be an [expletive], works every time.

Kings. I see Tyreke being elevated into elite status this year. I think his scoring along with Cousins potentially being the ROY makes them a tough team. Not to mention I expect a breakout season from Jason Thompson.
-
This doesn't make sense for a lot of reasons. Miami's team being none of those reasons.
-
I don't wanna judge because dude is definitely one of my favorite rappers but its tough to listen to his new stuff compared to the old. Erase me is alright but I think Kanye's verse really saves the song.
-
At this point I like Miami, Orlando, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington, New York and Detroit before them.

That girl sounds retarded as hell, was she at least hot? I know my last gf was actually decent looking when we started going out but then over the course of 2 years she gradually became a grenade..serious grenade and I couldn't do it. I don't think I can be with someone who doesn't take care of themselves physically. It kills me when a girl doesn't care about how she looks.

Cousins at center or power forward?
Flash replied to Real Deal's topic in Sacramento Kings Team Forum
Honestly, I'd put him at C because at the 4 he's only going to stunt Thompson's development. I'm very high on Thompson and think he can be a potential 20/10 guy in a few years. Start them both and let that young trio do their thing. Whiteside is gonna be a great player as well especially on the defensive end. -
A win really puts them in control of the division early on even if it'll make them just 2-2.
