Possibly, but there are questions about his work ethic as well that popped up during the Senior Bowl. I'm just not sure about his potential as a safety. I think he could do serious work at OLB though.
-
Boldin, I'd be interested to get your opinion on Taylor Mays and where you project him.
-
Agree with you there iBoldin. Loved what Seattle did and I would've rather taken Jerry Hughes over Odrick. Word is Kindle may need microfracture surgery. There's no way he doesn't get taken in round 1. As for the Mays post. His want to lay the big hit style is what gets him beat. Just ask Golden Tate. Mays' open field tackling can be inconsistent at times as well and like I said, he needs work on his fundamentals there.

But, just to make you happy, here: - I like the top 5. All those picks make sense. Love Favors to Golden St and Cousins to Sacramento. - Aldrich and Bledsoe are reaches in the top 10 and Monroe is a top 10 player IMO. - I like Vesely in Memphis to eventually replace Gay if he does leave. - Motiejunas to Toronto is a disaster waiting to happen on the front line. Maybe someone picks him earlier like New York, if not Houston could be another option. - Love Whiteside to Houston. I think that ends up happening if possible. - I think Sanders and Pondexter could go earlier than this mock projects and I think Xavier Henry will only continue to fall.
-
I knew that would come lol.
-
Either way, what about his game makes you think he'll be a good pro safety?
-
I watch as much of USC as I can. They're my second favorite college team behind Miami. Tell me, what about his game makes you think he'll be a pro-bowl caliber safety?
-
I'm coming with actual thoughts on the guys game and legit concerns in terms of how he plays and all I get it you don't know how he'll turn out or he's a beast and has pro-bowler written all over him because he's super jacked.
-
Obviously he hasn't played an NFL game yet, but you're crowning a guy because of his physique rather than his play on the field. He looked terrible during the senior bowl practices and all throughout his senior year. His future is at OLB. That is the position where he can play in either a 3-4 or a 4-3 because of his size and athleticism. He needs to work on his tackling fundamentals though like I stated above if he wants to be succesful.
-
That's all you got to come back with? Pete Carroll is in the NFL for a reason, because the guy can flat out coach. There's no use in arguing with me because you can't prove that Mays will be a pro bowler with anything besides look at his 6-pack or his biceps. That doesn't mean anything in the NFL if you can't cover for [expletive].
-
This kid is only 21...remember that.
-
Good coach? He played for Pete Carroll! What else do you want in terms of coaching at the college level? Champ Bailey never gets thrown to because he can cover guys unlike Mays. Mays has NO hips at all and his cover/ball skills absolutely suck. He's stiff in coverage. You have to paly zone with him because if you stick him in man he's going to get roasted like Golden Tate did to him in college. He got away with poor tackling fundamentals in college and he needs to work on them if he wants to be a successful NFL safety.
-
SD gave up A LOT to get Matthews, but I agree its a nice pickup for you guys. Taylor Mays can't cover. In his college career he accumulated a grand total of 5 INT's and forced 1 fumble for being such a big hitter. He's not the playmaker that he's made out to be. He gets lost in coverage and will get abused by NFL TE's. He's a second rounder at best IMO and that's why you saw teams pass on him in round 1. Measureables are great, but Mays needs to learn how to cover before you crown him.

I've been saying this since last year. This kid is going to be a superstar and better than LBJ. His defense on Kobe in the 4th is more impressive than any D I've ever seen Bron play.
-
LMAO why would Toronto take another Bargnani type player?

LMAO @ you people hating on Kobe. Stop it. Its one game n the Durantula was just too much tonight along with Westbrook. -
When's your next pick ECN?
-
Excellent pickup there but why trade up 2 spots to get him? Miami wasn't gonna take him. I like the Iupati pick as well.
-
Making sense? Why waste a first on a guy like Mays who has Roy Williams written all over him? By your logic, Al Davis is the best drafter of all time.
-
You wanna see a freak? http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Georgia+Tech+v+Miami+LvV_Q9FrdQGl.jpg Allen Bailey, 6'4, 290 runs a 4.65 40 and has a 39 inch vertical and a 375 power clean.

Durant is d'ing up Kobe, plain and simple. He's forcing him into bad shots and the Thunder's help D has gotten the ball out of Kobe's hands when he tries to drive. -
What does that do but confirm that USC's guys were on the juice? Brian Cushing and Clay Matthews were just as big as Mays was, except they can actually play football. Dude's an OLB all the way.
-
Woah woah, Motiejunas at 13? What a biased mock
-
Not a fan of our pick. Over Hughes? No way.
-
Freak of nature? Maybe in shorts and a dri-fit but he will be a horrible safety at the NFL level. He's better suited as an OLB.
