Next great international Big man(Predicted to go number 4) This year
Flash replied to Years's topic in NBA Draft History
Neither of them were anything special in the NBA either. James White was a bum in the NBA and didn't even get drafted IIRC. For every James White there's a Tskitishvili, Yaroslav Koralev or a Darko. The list goes on as well. Hell, at least Dixon actually contributed a little while he was in the NBA. -
I don't care if he's struggling from the field. PLAY BEASLEY. He's the only other guy on this team who can create his own shot outside of Wade. Not to mention he's rebounded effectively tonight.

You know what I meant... Do you wanna contribute to the debate or just keep talking [expletive] calling people ignorant? -

And obviously some people in the US care about soccer. The point I was making was that soccer might be the 5th most popular sport in the US compared to basketball in Europe. -

Its the truth. If they did it'd be way more popular than it is. -
OMG put in Beasley!! Are you kidding me?!

My argument isn't based on quantity, rather the quality of player that comes from the European league. Of course college is going to produce more players than the European league but through the stats it shows that the quality of player is better coming from the NCAA. We aren't talking about soccer either. No one cares about soccer in the US so I don't know why you're even bringing up soccer. People actually care about basketball in Europe. Just because they're professionals doesn't mean they're better. I can think of a lot of players in the NCAA right now that would be top players in Europe. -
SMH @ taking out Beasley only to see Haslem get taken to the rack by Matt Bonner...
-
Tapp is a good player but Seattle could stay healthy all year and wouldn't come near 13 games. C'mon man.
-
Glad to see Michael being active to start the game. 4 points, 2 rebounds and a huge steal there to prevent a fast break. His defense has been good too aside from the one gamble he took trying to strip Duncan. /waits to see Haslem when the game comes back from commercial.

That doesn't change the fact that the majority of the great players in the NBA come from college/high school. If most of these guys are coming out of college and then excel at the NBA level then what does that tell you? Derrick Rose didn't become the top pick until what he did in the NCAA tourney where you don't play against any bad teams. Granted, he was going to be picked high no matter where he went. IMO the college game prepares players better and it shows. -

Also to add to the College/Euroleague thing, I looked over the major statistical categories in the NBA and only counted 9 guys who played over in those professional leagues (and even included Steve Nash) that were in the top 20 in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocks. The rest came from college or high school to the NBA. If those leagues over in Europe are that crazy then why aren't more players coming to the NBA? -

I don't buy the whole European leagues are better than the NCAA. The vast majority of NBA players today came out of the NCAA so until these European leagues start pumping out players to the NBA I won't buy that. Let me also say that I'm not for banning European or any international player whatsoever. I know that was brought up earlier but I don't support that at all. -
Blazers all the way lol.

I just said I don't watch European League games. So I go by what I read and apparently he's been struggling with his shot as of late and is a poor rebounder. I'm not claiming to be an expert and not once in this thread have I made that claim. With the Beasley thing, just by watching Beasley play you can see that he's just as offensively gifted as both of those guys. He finishes better than Jamison and can score in just about every way possible. Beasley also put up ridiculous numbers at the college level. Dominating in both scoring and rebounding at just 18 years old. Beasley plays barely above 32 minutes a game, how can you expect him to put up number like both Amare and Jamison when he's barely out there because his coach refuses to play him at times. I agree with your point on comparisons as well. Also I'm not sure if he was serious on the Dirk/Yao/Pau thing either but that just made me feel like people are setting the expectations too high for this guy. -
Granger Prefers Wall To Turner, Cousins

I don't think he will either, I'm just saying there's always that possibility. I'd absolutely take Wall number 1 no matter what team I am. -
Granger Prefers Wall To Turner, Cousins
Flash replied to The Regime's topic in Indiana Pacers Team Forum
Not always because there's the potential bust factor. If you have a sure thing like Turner, sometimes it may be better to go conservative and take him since the difference in skill is about even. Wall has a higher ceiling but not by much either. Turner has the potential to be a dominant scorer in the NBA. That being said, Indy should go Wall because they've got a great wing player in Granger already and lack a PG like Wall. -
I think Manny is the greatest right handed hitter ever but Pujols is definitely up there.

This is a lot tougher than it seems and I think I may go A-Rod. Not because he's a Yankee but his resume is better at this point. They are equal in MVP's and titles. However, A-Rod has 2 Gold Gloves, 10 Silver Sluggers and 4-time Hank Aaron Award winner. He will also be joining the 3,000 hit club before his career is over which is a HUGE accomplishment. I'll take A-Rod.
