I agree to an extent there. We still need to find a DH assuming Hideki retires. I think that will put us in play for a few guys but a trade for Halladay is definitely not happening for us. I think we'll wait till his contract expires to make a run at him. Hopefully he doesn't sign an extension anytime soon.

I think you might see the Yankees involved with Roy as well. I wasn't a fan of the 3 man rotation we used in the playoffs and adding a guy like Halladay would be a big get for us. Although I think we might just wait till after next year when he becomes a FA.

I'm surprised neither Blanton or Hamels pitched tonight. The Phillies achilles heel has been the middle relief and I think in a game like this Using Hamels or Blanton to follow Pedro would've been a good idea. Then you just use whichever one didn't pitch to start game 7 and have Lee follow after 4 or 5 innings.

As you should be. Its rare for a team to make it to the series twice in a row much less repeat as champion. The Phills had a great year. Tex is a class-act and Matsui's been here for so long its about time he gets one. I think he's done to be honest. He's got no reason to come back next year, his knees are destroyed. I'm also really happy for Alex. He's had such a rough year but it seems like his admitting he used PED's really took a lot of pressure off of him. Not only that, but he graduated from the same high school as I did so that's great for the school.

WORLD CHAMPS!! We've waited 9 years to get back here and this is just awesome. Great team effort to win this one. Thing with being a 2 pitch guy, especially a fastball/changeup guy is that once hitters catch on to what you do it gets tough to keep pitching at a high level. That's what' happening to Hammels right now IMO.

The reason for Hamels' struggles is becuase he only has 2 pitches a fastball and a changeup. He hasn't developed his curve and its hurt him all year. Pedro scares me much moreso than Hamels.

Spo lost this game for us along with Wade. His rotations at the end were brutal. Halsem was getting eaten by Amare all night and he was in there way too long same goes for Q. Wright played a much better game even though it doesn't show on the stat sheet. He's miles ahead of Q-Rich defensively. Wade let the refs bother him and it affected his game. He was too passive tonight IMO and needs to work on getting his own shot.

Never said you did but I don't think a lot of those things you said still happen all too frequently to be honest. If guys were getting hit in the nuts etc. there would be more of a reaction. Spikes deserves a minimum of one game.
