For the West: Lakers - The second unit just doesn't cut it anymore, sorry. For whatever reason, they have been way, way too inconsistent (excluding Odom) and someone need to come in and challenge someone else. For the East: Magic - I truly would have believed the Magic again as a Championship contender had they done the proposed Zach Randolph deal (for J-Rich and Bass) but without that, they lack a bit in rebounding and a bit in low post scoring. All the other teams, bar Dallas, only need a minor deal to improve relatively significantly and that could be achieved via FA so there's still that option for them.

The attractiveness of that deal just fell by 100%.

No wonder the Celtics got rid of Harangody and Erden, they are obviously rolling the carpet for Powe to come back and to sign Murphy.
