Joe Johnson, Hawks Finalize Agreement On Max Contract
Newman replied to xx.'s topic in Atlanta Hawks Team Forum
Noooo! Hawks would have been better off signing Childress and 2-3 other role players using the money instead. Ah well, this is the Hawks management we are talking about here so it come at no surprise. -
Aldridge playing the 3?
-
It works and NOH would be the ones benefiting from this trade. They get a lot of pieces that can complement Collison and West. Why the Mavs would do this, however, is unclear considering they already have a pass-first PG in Jason Kidd and Okafor isn't that big of an upgrade over Dampier.

Pacers offer Farmar, Felton, Lowry one year deals
Newman replied to Dash's topic in Indiana Pacers Team Forum
Felton and Lowry can do better than 3.5m. Farmar can as well, but a guarantee that he will start may be able to lure him. -
Update: Fisher re-signs with LA (pg. 3)
Newman replied to NJNJ's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
I think that considering the number of seasons Fisher has devoted to this team, he should get 4m/year. -
Amar'e Deal Likely To Follow Meeting in NY
Newman replied to Got Favors?'s topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
They should play Chris Duhon at the point then to maximize Amare's ability. -
Dennis Scott: "Hawks are a leader for Shaq."
Newman replied to The Regime's topic in Atlanta Hawks Team Forum
If Shaq is willing to come off the bench and become a sixth man while letting Pachulia start the game (Shaq will get more minutes overall), then I am all in favour of the deal. -
Suns Agree To $18M, Four-Year Deal With Hakim Warrick
Newman replied to Sun Tzu's topic in Phoenix Suns Team Forum
Steve Nash love athletic freaks, just look at Shawn Marion and Amare's stats when they played with Nash. -
His performance and role will be the same, but he will be criticized next year because he is earning way more money.

Raps Looking Into Haywood, Blake, and Lee?
Newman replied to Doc's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
The Raptors need to get young guys, not seasoned veterans. -
I like the Deng for Okur deal if it goes through. Deng would be a great fit in Jerry Sloan's system and having a center that can shoot the 3 is always a +, especially with Noah/Gibson grabbing the rebounds inside.
-
No worries about the salary cap, just trade Deng away for anyone (or anything) and we will be set. :glasses:

I like Blake so a good signing for the Lakers. Now they only need to sign 1-2 other free agents to give them a bench that will match with the Suns.

Ric Bucher: Clippers Interested In Iguodala
Newman replied to The Regime's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
Iguodala with the current Clippers roster would be scary. -
Paul is one of those PGs that is loved by other players because he can create so many opportunities. I don't think this trade will make the team record look that much different to last year, however. The lack of a consistent perimeter shooter concerns me. Also, Okafor and Bogut are too similar and they would be better off starting Gooden and benching Okafor. I reckon the Hornets will get better with this trade if Redd is healthy, however.

Trail Blazers will continue to pursue Chris Paul
Newman replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Portland Trail Blazers Team Forum
I don't think the Hornets will get a better trade offer than this, personally thinking. Hopefully Bower won't regret it like Philly did when they missed out on the chance to trade AI at draft night for better players than Andre Miller and Joe Smith. -
If you were a role player, where would you rather sign...
Newman replied to kingfish's topic in General NBA Discussion
Yup, as said above, it would depend on the age. Personally, however, I would pick to join the Lakers. The Champions are usually a lock for a high seed the following year and make a run in the playoffs. The Lakers' system also enable role players to get some PT as well, unlike in the super team. -
Suns Agree To $18M, Four-Year Deal With Hakim Warrick
Newman replied to Sun Tzu's topic in Phoenix Suns Team Forum
+1. He will give similar stats (maybe a little less) than Amare given the PT. The Suns need another big man though in my opinion. -
Dam I hate the Dutch. How can Van Bommel not get a yellow card after 5-6 fouls. They earned the win today though, Robben, although he is my least favourite player, really made a difference and Sneijder was just terrific.

Kings won't go after big-name free agents
Newman replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Sacramento Kings Team Forum
Besides OKC, I think that the Kings has the most potential to be a great team with the players they have at the moment. Good choice. -
Well the Hawks must be desperate.

Pacers show interest in Jordan Farmar
Newman replied to Real Deal's topic in Indiana Pacers Team Forum
Yeah I think Farmar is looking for a multi-year contract as well. He will get the starting job at Indiana, however. -
He is a good player, and a big man that can attack the basket and also rebound is a rare find in the NBA nowadays.

Update: Rivers will return for one more season
Newman replied to Dash's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
Insert some fresh blood into this team and they are still a contender. The draft picks may have done the trick already but I would still like to see a veteran big man signed to take Sheed's spot. -
Suns better do a S&T to get some players back.
