What should the Celtics do with Allen?
Newman replied to SRT Spidey's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
Keep him. He's still a good shooter no matter what and the Celtics need more of those players, not less. -
Celtics and Bobcats discussing Augustin-Big Baby deal?
Newman replied to Dash's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
I don't like it. I don't feel that Big Baby will fit with Charlotte nor will Augustin with the Celtics. That said, the Celtics will still benefit the most out of this trade because they can finally get a normal back-up PG. -
If the whole jersey was the green then I would love it but since it's not, it's so-so IMO.

He is no Rod Thorn, but I don't think he will be stupid enough to trade Iguodala without including the big fat contract of Elton Brand or some other scrub.

Chris Paul Needs Surgery; Could Miss 1-2 Months
Newman replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in New Orleans Pelicans Team Forum
Lucky for Hornets' fans, Collison is no scrub. Otherwise the Hornets would be an absolute disaster right now. -
Raja Bell is out for the season I believe so he is out of the picture. Milwaukee is a relatively small city comparing to the rest of the NBA teams and I just can't see star players joining them. Not only that, the Bucks doesn't really have any tempting trading chips avaliable to make deals. I personally love Outlaw and I think that he can put up Ariza numbers if he join a team which gives him freedom to attack. I expect the Bucks to use the draft to get a young SG or promote Meeks if Redd never comes back, so let's see whether they can get a good SF now to complement Jennings + Bogut.

Jason Thompson is 6'11 so why would they trade a PF who can play center that is averaging 13 points and 8 rebounds for a center who might not be even able to produce half of that? I know Kenny Thomas is going to be thrown into this deal as well if it happens, but I don't think Chandler, who is the best of the bunch of centers Bobcats have, is worth it for a future cornerstone and an expiring contract.

From BBC Sport. This is just ridiculous. The decision is understandable if it's to protect Togo from being attacked again, but fining them is just plain ridiculous.

Shows what he can do with PT.

He is no Ben Gordon, but he'll help.

Suns and Cavs talking Stoudemire trade
Newman replied to The Regime's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
If this happen then it's game over for the rest of the league. -
Memphis Talking Trade For Ronnie Brewer
Newman replied to The Regime's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
It would be a nice trade, although I am not sure about Mayo playing point. Conley is not doing a bad job at the moment as a pass-first PG. -

I second that. Come on Mitch, do your thing. -
Who's Was The Better Draft Pick For The Magic?
Newman replied to crabbylion's topic in Orlando Magic Team Forum
In terms of which one being a better draft pick for the Magic, I would definitely say Howard. This is because I've read in Shaq's biography (published in 1996) that when he got picked by the Magic, his agent constructed a plan to get Shaq traded to the Lakers and although he refused to do so then, 2 years after the biography was published he moved to the Lakers. I've got a feeling Dwight is going to stay with Orlando for at least most of his career so I am going to go with Dwight. -
The problem is that Magic work by just inside-outside and if the outside doesn't work, they break. We all know that Dwight is a monster in the paint and should attract double-team in most games, but when the shooters outside don't drain their shot then the plan wouldn't work. There is no plan B. They should let Dwight do his thing if the shooters aren't and use Pietrus and Carter's slashing ability as support. In brief, the Magic's problem is not utilizing its players' versatility and hence slowly shaping them up into one-diemensional players.

According to the original article this team has probably the most famous players in the CBA at the moment. Not only were they the team that signed Bonzi Wells last year but also that Maurice Taylor had been the foreign player of this team before Marbury's arrival. If Marbury doesn't drop 50 points in at least 1 game I'll be surprised. P.S Also according to the original article, Stromile Swift is playing in the CBA as well.

I like Jodie Meeks, but I've got the feeling that the Bucks are still going to try for the playoffs with the Stackhouse signing. He give them that insurance if Meeks fail to produce.

Nate, Wallace, Brown To Compete In Dunk Contest
Newman replied to Doc's topic in General NBA Discussion
Damn LeBron got my hopes up for this year. I am not saying that these participants are rubbish, but if LeBron joined this could've been a really special slam dunk contest. Now it's pretty much all Shannon Brown. -
Wow anyone know what happened? Never something that anyone want to hear about. RIP

Got that one right. The Nets are a mess and they need an experienced coach to straighten them up.

According to an article I've read before, Brook Lopez is the only untradeable in the squad and given the number of quality PGs around the league at the moment, Harris is tradable.

Meh. It's okay but nothing that'll make me think I'll pay $299 for.
