Tim Duncans numbers are down, but if you have watched him consistently this year you would see he is playing better defense than he was last year.
-
Just look at any game by Ime Udoka or Keith Bogans as a Spur.
-
Well hopefully this opens the Spurs eyes for then to buckle down and play consistent defense all game. Not an impressive win but avoiding 3 Losses in a row is all I care about.

Dear Pop, You gave up last game with 3:15 to go down by 11 with a player at the line shooting two free throws. Tonight, you were down 9 with less than a minute to go and came within a Ginobili pass to a wide open McDyess of forcing overtime. Feel our wrath. Sincerely, Gods of Basketball

I didn't think it was possible to cry more than Tim Duncan after a call, but PP goes full temper tantrum out there. Big props to Rondo, and Gay Allen. Rondo Is a beast! Manu lost us this game by playing like dog [expletive] for 3 quarters.
-
[expletive] this team, Spurs suck.
-
[expletive] Ray Allen! [expletive]!!!!!
-
I was wrong LOL, Ray Allen is going ape ish and pop pulled the starters in the first. Manu is playing like [expletive]
-
I think Pop was trying to send the starters a message last night when he pulled them when they were still "in the game". Spurs come out focused, play tough D and get a solid win tonight IMO.
-
Not hurt at all actually. 29-5 is nothing to be pissed off about.
-
Oh yeah and Rose as well, forgot about him. Nice BFT.

I would still take Dirk, LBJ, Dwight, And maybe even Wade over Amar'e right now. I give all the props in the world to NY, but I still have little to no faith in them when in counts. A D'Antoni Team will not have success in the post season with their lack of defense (especially Amar'e). Now I know they didn't show it tonight, but San Antonio has shown that they are a much better defensive team (even against high octane teams).

First of all, props to the Knicks. That was a got damn impressive offensive display. Their passing was excellent and their shooting was even better. The 1999 Spurs wouldn't have had much success against the Knicks on this night. That said, two mystifying defensive decisions seemed to doom the Spurs. First of all, why was the gameplan to go under the screen against Felton? He's a good shooter who became a great shooter once he knew the Spurs were going to dare him to shoot each and every time he was in a pick-and-roll. I realize going over the pick-and-roll would have allowed him to get more penetration ... but with the way he was murdering the Spurs from the perimeter, a change to the plan would have been nice at some point. The only time the Spurs had moderate success against Felton was when they were switching everything. But when Duncan on the floor, that was no longer possible in the fourth quarter. At that point, going over the screen and forcing him to make plays going toward the basket would have been nice. The other issue I had was the decision to throw hard double-teams at Stoudemire in the second half. With as hot as the shooters around Stoudemire were firing, it was suicide. I'd much rather Stoudemire take a contested 17-footer than allow an open three-pointer time after time. I know Stoudemire isn't exactly Magic Johnson when it comes to passing but he's a good enough passer to find the open man when he's doubled so far away from the hoop while facing up. Again, the Knicks deserve a lot of the credit for putting 128 points on the board but those two coaching decisions weren't helping matters. It was almost as if Pop wanted to expose his own team's defensive shortcomings . . .

Nice win for the Knicks. Spurs played the worst D I have seen all season. Pop just waved the white flag by pulling the starters.

MVP chants for Amare lol Knicks fans....

The current playoff teams in the West

Spurs got some tough games starting tonight @ New York and tomorrow @Boston. -
I'm seeing a lot of things on twitter and the comments for Carlisle are suggesting that the Butler injury could be serious. Not good at all for the Mavs and thief fans.
-
Wow did Butlers injury look bad?

1) Disagree, I don't think the Lakers troubles are due to Kobe "declining". It's more due to the lack of production from Artest/bench and teams finally figuring out this team. Not to mention the PG position is still extremely weak even with Blake. 2) Disagree, Like others have said OKC is a bit overrated. 3) Disagree, Yes I'm a Spurs fan and I might be a homer, but right now Spurs are the best. Dallas is legit and are a very good team, but I think SA is more a more complete team.
-
It's good to get a win, but I would rather seen the Spurs play a fully healthy Dallas team.
-
Anyone know if Dirk is going to play?

Uncharacteristic night for Kobe, but I give a lot of credit to George Hill and Manu who both played about as good of defense on Kobe as you can. It's nit a coincidence that in the three game Hill has Bern out the Spurs gave up over 100 ppg. With him it's around 85ish. Hills perimeter defense was spectacular and the best I have seen since #12 retired. If someone would have told me Dunxan shot 1-7 and had only 4 rebounds I would have said how much did we lose by? I'm still shocked that Blair was so productive, on paper Blair is the weakest link matched up against the giant Lakers. While I have thought over the past three years the Spurs need to match the Lakers size, it was the Spurs speed and youth that made the difference. Blair was very physical with Gasol and it paid off. This strategy won't always work but unlike years past the Spurs Noe have options. They might not be as big as LA but they have a nice combination of size, and speed. Gary Neal...... Where do the Spurs find these guys lol? This kid has ice in his veins! Can't wait till Anderson gets back, he was playing great before his injury!
-
I would start Dice tonight if I was the Spurs. If Blair starts (which he will) LA will most likely attack him. Bynum or Gasol will be able to completely dominate him. Spurs still don't have any answer for Kobe (who does?). I'm expecting Manu and Hill will share the majority of the impossible task. Both guys can't let Kobe take it easy on the defensive end either. Manu especially needs to have a good night on offense. Playoff atmosphere tonight for sure.
