I agree with Joe Johnson

Actually that is not correct, if anything the starters play more after the Rodeo road trip and ASB.

Nah man although that would be awesome I see the Spurs ending up with 55-60 wins this year.

What are they doing differently?

Aside from the 4th quarter Manu was pretty horrendous, actually every not named Tim, and Tony were pretty bad until late in the 3rd. Tim Duncan played a fantastic overall game. Whileanu stole the show, it was Duncans 28 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks that made this game winnable for SA. It's good to know when Manu and co are struggling and the game slows down you can still rely on Timmy! Still think the Spurs need another defensive big especially since Pop doesn't seem too enthusiastic about playing Splitter (when he has shown he is already a better defender than Blair and Bonner). -
After tonight's game I wold tend to agree. Affalo played some great basketball. However I am goin to be a homer and say Manu Ginobili. The things this guy does on a nightly basis is just incredible. Tonight for instance, manu was playing extremely bad on both eds of the floor. At one pointhe was 1-7 from downtown and 1-10 overall. He was also getting torched on the defensive end by Affalo, Melo and whoever else he guarded. With Manu Ginobili it really doesn't matter how bad of a game he is having because he usually finds a way to make a impact somehow and not only did he come up HGE tonight he has done this many other times as well. Manu came out in the 4th quarter, got an easy lay-up, dished out a assist, nailed a step back jumper, and sunk a three pointer. In the final minute he hit the game winning jumper with 5 seconds left, and on the defensive end drew a charge from Melo as time expired erasing Anthony's game winning lay-up. Manu has een the Spurs MVP this year by far making timely clutch plays even in gaes he's not scoring the ball well. I believe RD made the comment of Tim Duncan has always been the anchor/mvp of the Spurs, but a healthy Manu Ginobili is what makes this team Elite. Which is very true, Spurs fans know his importance but many dn't recognize what he does because he doesn't put up huge numbers. Manu does all the little things thatdon't show up in the stat sheet but allows the Spurs to win games.

What I like about Bogut and Tim Duncan is that when they block the ball they aren't looking to send it 5 rows deep in the crowd. They get the block and secure the ball to give thier teams an extra possesion. That's not always the case with guys like Howard and Smith. Don't get me wrong Howard and Smith are great shot blockers, but would they be as good if they weren't freakishly athletic?

Well if we are going to talk about easy $$$$ I think Michael Redd takes the cake. In the past three years Redd has played in 51 games and has made somewhere close to 54 million+....

Interesting stats for Jefferson this year that are very impressive. RJ is Shooting 70% in the 4th quarter from the field and from 3-point range. His balls have been sagging to the floor this year, unlike last season..hopefully he can do it when it matters in the playoffs, but he's been clutch as hell this season especiall when it matters in the 4th. Hopefully it continues. -
I think Spurs drop 1 or 2 before the Lakers game. I can see them losing to a team like Memphis or @ Orlando (especially since it's the 2nd night of a b2b again.)
-
yeah, it is for sure a RARE call. I'm glad that the refs swallowed their whistles and made the right call. I would like to see more of it TBH. tonight it just happend to bail out my Spurs. Manu was fouled on that inbound pass that was stolen so in a way it all balances out
-
Yeah, I understand he is upset, but he acted like a child there.
-
I get what you are trying to say, but why can't a player finish the game on defense like Manu just did? The refs did not cost the Nuggets the game, the solid defensive play by Manu won the game for San Antonio.
-
I'm just glad Spurs (and Nuggets put on a great game on national TV. Normally Spurs would get blown out when they play on TNT. This game by Manu reminded me a lot of a game against New Orleans last year. Manu didn't shoot well, turned the ball over, and played bad D. When the 4th Q came around Manu made a diving save that got the Spurs an extra possesion that allowed them to win the game. Kind of like this game, Manu was sucking hard and in the 4th he made some HUGE plays.
-
That was a clear charge, that call needed to be made.
-
No questionable call tonight boys. manu with the game winner on offense and defense!!!! I <3 you Manu

Well as I type this Melo is going crazy so not over yet, but I think that Dallas has something to say about your post, not to mention the Lakers. Top three teams in the West are clearly LAL, Dallas, and SA though. it's a toss up at this point for who s the best IMO. However, If the Spurs pull out this win, it will be impressive.

Spurs hanging around after a pretty bad start. Timmy Duncan is having a solid half, and TP is playing well. Manu needs to wake the F up..... Nasty Dunk by JR though earier this game, that was nice.

Imagine a league where the Lakers and Celtics didn't exist! A league where it wasn't a lock to see two certain teams in the finals every year. A league where small market teams like the Grizzlies and Bobcats had a chance. A league where building a championship team came via draft not buy spending ridiculous amounts of money........ Nah that wouldn't be fun.
