  1. The streak ends. But he's more concerned about wins than his own stats. Beast.
  2. I was at home, and I watched it from beginning to end. I remember being disgusted at halftime, as we were on our way to a blow out and Kobe was the only one playing well for us. And then it happened. Kobe started going nuts, and slowly the rest of our team started playing better. The defense got better the more he scored, the crowd got into it, and Kobe's scrub team mates (Chris Mihm, Smush Parker, Devean George, Kwame Brown) started playing like decent players. It's insane to think that after a 27 point third quarter, it was still a close game. It was a 18 point lead for the Raptors at about 8 minutes into the third, and to end the quarter the Lakers were only up 6 points. 27 points in one quarter was crazy, and to follow it up with a 28 fourth quarter performance? It was the single greatest performance I've seen from any NBA player, ever. I can't believe it's already been five years since it's happened. I have the game on DVD thanks to BALF, and still watch it every now and then.
  3. I don't think there's much you can do, really. The All-Star game is close, and so is the trade deadline...you can be sure that activity will pick up during that time. We do get plenty of guest views from twitter...but that's it. Views are nice, but we want discussion, which is hard because they're discussing it on twitter. It's a blessing and a curse.
  4. Going to Disneyland today! My buddy works there and got us free tickets...it's going to be awesome. Haven't been there in at least 10 years, should be fun!
  5. I did a legit double-take when I saw the box score when I got home. Are you kidding me? I'm very tempted to stay up and watch the replay of it...
  6. These people make me so angry. Their lack of compassion for the families involved and even praising the shooter? Disgusting, vile, and shameful. Makes me sick.
  7. Ian McKellen is returning as Gandalf in The Hobbit. Wooo! http://www.mckellen.com/cinema/hobbit-movie/index.htm
  8. Yeah, it is kind of confusing. I think it's talking about how one responds to the Gospel message. If you listen to it, repent and keep it, you'll be fine...but if you listen to it and you don't repent, and don't keep it, you'll be in trouble once Christ comes back. I think that's what it's talking about it. Look at Revelation 2:5 and it says the same thing. In my study Bible it also references 1 Thess. 5:2, the verse I posted earlier.
  9. Gotcha. Yes, He's given a lot time for more people to repent, and whether it's 7,000 years or more I can't say. As for the last verse you posted, the darkness is referring to an unbeliever's moral state and separation from God, but as Christians we don't have to worry about the darkness because we'll be with God. God calls for us to be alert and sober (self-disciplined), and while we don't know exactly when the tribulation will happen, it's not going to take us by surprise when it does.
  10. I think I can answer these fairly well. In the previous verse (6), Peter was saying that God demonstrates the truthfulness of His word, and that He has intervened in dramatic ways in the past. God said that he would destroy the world with a flood, and He did. In verse 7, God will keep to His word and destroy the world, but this time with fire. In verse 8, Peter is talking about the delay of Christ's second coming (and the eventual judgment and destruction of the world). The bit about the thousand years shows that God does not view time the same way humans do. It's hard to wrap our minds around that concept, but time is a natural law and God is outside of those laws, so time doesn't apply to him. God is also delaying Christ's second coming because he wants more people to repent. I think it's reasonable to draw parallels to the two events, but you have to keep in mind there will be no warning of when Christ's second coming happens. In 1 Thessalonians 5:2, Paul says "For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night." As for the time thing, I'd have to look deeper into that. Most of the time (depending on the passage), when time is mentioned it is meant literally. When you get to verses like "that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” the writer is trying to illustrate something, in this case that God does not view time the say way we do. Sometimes you have to look at the context of the verse and dig a little to understand what's going on.

  14. Travel is the biggest issue here. Playing 7 or 8 games in two weeks around Europe would be exhausting. From what I've read and heard, teams who played pre-season games over seas did not enjoy it. Sure, they enjoyed the experience of playing in another country and seeing the international fans and stuff, but it's a huge hassle for coaching and training staff. And I'm pretty sure European fans like their own leagues plenty. Would they like to play against NBA teams? Yeah probably, but they're not depressed because they're not.
  15. It would work, and there would certainly be enough interest and revenue for them to be successful there. Be nice to see another state and city get a franchise, though.
  16. Just watched an interview with him and a TV station, and man that just about brought a tear to my eye. Dude is so thankful to God, and was STILL thankful to Him during his hard times. Great story, couldn't be happier for him.
  17. Most of his shots were inside the three point arc during that third quarter stint though. And they weren't working inside out because Pau was too busy getting owned by his brother and Randolph.
  18. I'm in the high desert, but from Santa Clarita on up it's snowing.
  19. It's snowing! In Southern California! And it's sticking! IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE.
  20. Hahaha, nah. I seriously thought you were messed there. Almost changed the title of this thread to Hungover Thread 2011 just for today.
  21. You're bombed after two drinks? Hahaha.
