Kobe has yet to beat a great team for his ring
GamerGuy replied to Multi-Billionaire's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
It was. Back then, rookie Luke Walton came off the bench in the Finals and played an excellent game against the Pistons. It was either in game one or two, can't remember, but yeah. -
Scariest thing ever, sink hole formed in Guatemala

That's freaking insane. What's even crazier is that the article says it swallowed up a three story building and a house, but you can't even see them. Scary. -
Was busy last night, so I recorded the game and watched it today. If you ever need to define greatness, just look at Kobe during this series, and especially tonight. He hit so many ridiculous shots, it really wasn't fair. He's just too good. The Suns did a great job of sending multiple guys at Gasol, the zone really frustrated him. Wasn't able to make any post moves, and his passes out of the traps were lackluster. Thank goodness Kobe, Fisher, and Artest were huge for us. Bynum played decent for the time he put in, hopefully his knee feels better come Thursday. Congratulations to the Phoenix suns for a great regular season and playoff run. Maybe one day Nash and Hill will get their ring, but not today. See you on Thursday, Boston.

Just got done watching the finale, and wow, what a way to end it. This season was definitely one of the best 24 has had, and I'm sad to see it end. At the same time though, I'm glad...I rather have them end on a high note than drag the series on. Really looking forward to the movie, whenever it gets released. Should be amazing.

GM5: Phoenix (2) @ LA Lakers (2)
GamerGuy replied to Real Deal's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Lucky my arse. Artest hustled for that rebound and put-back, that's not luck that's called work. Wow, what a game. We were kind of inconsistent this game. At times we played really well, others not so much. I'm just glad we were able to get the win. Hopefully we can close this out in Phoenix. -
Boston's loss should open our eyes

Fisher is exceptionally good at drawing fouls on screens, so I'm not worried about that. And if Garnett is going to be setting them, you know that Fisher will do a great job of getting the refs attention when he hits the screen. Kobe will give Rondo space, so Rondo won't be driving into the paint. He'll have to take the open outside shot, or give the ball to Peirce and let him make the play. I feel pretty good about Peirce trying to create something with Ron guarding him. -
Nash is one tough customer, gotta give props to him for playing through it.

I love Bynum, but you just can't pass this deal up. I'm sure Bynum wouldn't mind either, really. If we win the title again this year, he'll have two rings under his belt, and he might just want to spread his wings and be the main guy on a team of his own. Do it Mitch!

Heh, that is a trip. So much school work to finish up in these next couple of weeks. Bleh. @_@

Great win tonight, everyone really stepped it up. Fisher played some solid defense on Nash, I feel better about him trying to defend Nash after watching him tonight. Nobody on the Suns could slow Kobe down, and he was vicious from the start. Watching him go off in the third was something else, definitely looked like #8 out there. Gasol was solid as usual and Odom was just a beast off the bench. I think in this series we'll be seeing Odom get more playing time than Bynum. Odom can defend the pick and roll better, and he's a match up nightmare for the Suns on the other end. I was also mildly impressed with Farmar and Brown tonight, both played well. Great start to the series...hopefully we can keep it up and finish the Suns off in less than six games.

Kobe's just a little bit fired up. Just a bit.

Heroes was REALLY good in season one, but every single season afterward has been increasingly disappointing. It's sad too because the show had so much potential after the first season, but it's been wasted on poor writing.

I think there's only two weeks left. Next week will be one hour, and then the week after the two-hour finale. If they go that route, that is. Anyway, this week's episode was awesome. Jack's going all out as the end draws near, and his Iron Man-esque helmet in the preview looks tight. Can't wait to see how it all ends.

Well, when you have three excellent perimeter players guarding you throughout the game (Billups, Hamilton, and Prince) and often times being double/triple teamed, yeah, your stats are going to suffer. Got to give credit to the Pistons there, they had a gameplan and executed it. Also, had it not been for Kobe hitting the 3-pointer at the end of the 4th quarter in game two to force OT, the Lakers would have been swept. Not that it matters much, but hey at least Kobe won them a game... Tough break for Cavalier fans tonight, though. This was supposed to be THEIR year, but it just didn't pan out. Lot of questions for this franchise right now. I didn't really care who won this series, but I am SO looking forward to facing Boston in the Finals. Revenge, baby!

Bump for great justice...and I agree wholeheartedly. Got this album the other day and I can't stop listening to it.

After two first round exits by them, I'm feeling some revenge. I'm just scared that Nash and Dragic is going to eat Fisher, Farmar, and Brown alive.

Feels good to sweep a team, real good. Kobe hit some incredible shots, and Pau played like a man today. Good stuff. Bynum needs to snap out of it, two poor games in a row. Hopefully this week of rest will do us wonders. Bring it on, PHX.

GM6: LA Lakers (3) @ Oklahoma City (2)
GamerGuy replied to Real Deal's topic in Oklahoma City Thunder Team Forum
Good game Thunder, good game. Love the way they kept fighting, even 'till the very end. Loved the standing ovation and the hand shaking at the end too, no matter what team you rep you have to appreciate good sportsmanship. Kobe was incredible, as always. Huge props to Gasol for continuing to rebound the ball despite a lack-luster offensive performance. Our bench FINALLY stepped up and played well, probably the first time all season. The Thunder are going to be scary good very soon. Can't wait to see how they play next year. 2nd round, here we come! -
Congrats to LeBron, well deserved.

Games like these really don't add much to the forums, they just increase post count. Lockin' this one up.
