I just had a beautiful 3 paragraph response that would have warranted about 394394 + reps, then my internet crashes when I click post... can't get it back. :'( Basically, I don't see NO wanting to make that deal... money wise, doesn't make sense, roster wise, Thornton is already gonna score about as much as JRich. No need for another SG. Utah makes sense, AK doesn't play as much for Utah and with Matthews gone, a SG is needed.

I guess that's the thing... I'm a smart player, but when I'm on the floor I subconsciously make the right read, I guess because my instincts are a natural version of thinking things out.

Nuggets Might Be Willing To Trade Carmelo
Flight replied to Sportsguy9695's topic in Denver Nuggets Team Forum
Batum, Fernandez, Pryzbilla, and picks for Melo please? -
Insects? Yeah, they don't last very long. But I get what you're saying, but how do instincts go away? It's what you feel, not what you think about, which can go away.

A. It won't ever get old for multiple reasons, where bangin some average hoe all day erry day would get old. And loose.

Kinda reminds me of Fireworks, I mean all of his new album, but Fireworks especially.

Hornets get head. Yes.

Nice, awesome defender and cheap contract. If Brewer is re-signed that'd be two lockdown defenders on the team, so probably one on the court at all times. And Brandon, I think so... I bet Conley gets traded soon, if not he'll be a top notch bench PG.

Melo and CP3 join the Knicks? Then... They have a nice trio in Amare, Melo, and CP3... that would make for a nice ECF matchup.

I was just thinking about myself as a basketball player... I'm a point guard, and I'm a pretty average athlete for an 18 year old (very light, not very strong, decent hops, good quickness... great top end speed, but that doesn't benefit a basketball player for much more than fast breaks), but I'm a good defender, good passer, and decent all around player. I shoot a high percentage, but I've realized that's largely due to shot selection. That said, I also adjust a lot on the fly, and most of my scoring baskets come as unnatural tear drops and layups. So this makes me wonder, what's more important for a player, instincts or I.Q.? I understand the offense, but I'm not really one of those players that's always two steps ahead. I'm on the same page as everyone, but I don't really know where to go, as much as I just seem to pass where it seems right. On defense, I don't gamble much, but I still get a ton of steals in passing lanes. It's just that I have a feel for where the ball's gonna be, moreso than me knowing the other team's tendencies. As an on-ball defender, I do the things like face guarding and little mind games (like poking the guy when he goes up for a shot... try it. Just stick a finger into his gut a little, not even really that hard, just repeatedly... gets in their head, and the refs never call it), but at the same time I think my defense is mostly thanks to my ability to react and feel for where someone's going. Then again, defense is very much effort-oriented, more than offense. I give 100% all game, so maybe that's why I'm a better defender than scorer. So for those of you that read that, or those that don't want to, what do you feel is more important to a basketball player? Instincts, or I.Q.?

Free agent Wesley Matthews meets with Blazers
Flight replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Portland Trail Blazers Team Forum
Yeah, but Webster needs more freedom in the offense really, I mean he got his 3 point chances and occasional ISOs and alley oops, but Matthews fits in without the ball much. He's a good FT shooter, and creates contact a lot more than Martell. He's just as good a shooter, not quite as athletic, but more importantly a much better on ball defender. Webster was solid, but he gambled a little too much. The fouls he commited were stupid fouls. Similar players, but I think Wes is an improvement with more potential. -
I wouldn't go as far as saying very high IQ, I see what you're saying but I mean unless you've seen more than those 2 clips, idk what to grade him on. I never paid attention in the 08 Olympics, and 18 points can come many ways. He uses picks for alley oops a lot from what I've seen, I just don't know that someone that's not very athletic can come in and do that with as much ease as he did against who, Croatia? I don't doubt he's strong, and he doesn't seem to be as bad of an athlete as Yao or somebody, but he's also much less skilled I'm assuming. That's not to say he can't become something valuable, I just have no idea what to think of him yet.

Does anyone else fear signing Euro players as much as I do?

I'm getting tickets to the first Nets vs Heat game

Rather than piss off the King, I'm gonna go to a Blazers-Heat game and hold a sign saying "Sign my unit." -
Then again, who knew about Josh Hamilton before last season? Or who though Magglio Ordonez was going to be exciting in the derby?
-
Eh I get that, but if it's something like power rankings, then I think it's based off of now.

You can't? Even if it's a cinderella story?

Chris Young's gonna win this I wanna see Hanley too.

Free agent Wesley Matthews meets with Blazers
Flight replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Portland Trail Blazers Team Forum
Smart move to make it a frontloaded deal, it'll pressure Utah even more... super overpaid next year, but as he gets better, he'll get cheaper. Strange, but hey. If we get him, I'll be stoked. -
1. Heat (I think they're going to get a bunch of good players with the MIN...) 2. Lakers (obvious choice at 1 or 2) 3. Thunder (I know... way too high right? I really think they can make a run) 4. Magic (I don't really know what to think, but they didn't lose anyone major) 5. Rockets (If Yao is healthy... if not, then I guess I'll go with either the Mavs, Nuggets, Bulls, or Blazers here. It'll be crowded around the 2nd and 3rd spots for each conference)
