  1. The Lakers frontcourt is dominating the Spurs frontcourt to start. Bad start by Duncan.
  2. Much better possession by Bynum, moves his feet, blocks Ginobili's drive.
  3. Bynum didn't get over quick enough to cut Ginobili off, bad sign to start on defense. But in typical Lakers fashion, he plays volleyball on the glass and dunks a putback.
  4. Oh no, that's just a missed layup.
  5. Noah wasn't grabbing LeBron? That looked like a foul on Noah. I want to see that agin.
  6. by missing a free throw and getting bailed out?
  7. If LeBron comes off a screen going right, crosses over and shoots a pull-up three going back to his left, somebody ought to get punched in the face.
  8. Oh LeBron dropped it. That ball was in his hands. That wasn't even a Bulls tap out.
  9. Great screen by Bosh, Boozer was totally sealed on the weakside by Bosh and couldn't get over. Miami's making all the little plays late.
  10. Miller redeems himself with an excellent defensive possession.
  11. Rose can't be an MVP when he's committed two unforced turnovers and airballed a pullup, Awful last two minutes by him. You can't be this sloppy in such a critical juncture of a big game. Great trust by Miami's offense, they get some movement and passing, LeBron gives the ball up and Chalmers hits a three. Good resolve by Miami.
  12. LeBron with a big time finish despite Deng's outstanding defense.
  13. Rose too, he's been sloppy himself.
  14. Rose has to be more crisp with that handoff, and Wade no hand-up on Deng's runner. A missed FT and a poor defensive play by Wade.
  15. That's an awful pass by Wade, but Bosh missed Wade on the UCLA cut, Wade was open for a layup if Bosh makes the pass on time.
  16. Dwayne Wade is taking this game over. And LeBron's a bit obtuse with his statement regarding the end of games, saying, "we're getting the shots we want to get, we're just not making them." One dribble pull-up threes are the shots LeBron wants to take...I doubt it's what Spoelstra wants the team to get.
  17. I was thinking the same thing. Somewhere Rasheed Wallace is smiling!
  18. Asik really is a terrific help defender.
  19. Mike Miller's having a really tough game.
  20. Well the topic was worst defender in the NBA, not worst defender in the NBA who doesn't completely suck on offense and rebounding too. With Nash, I'll use this video since its one that's already on the internet. http://bballbreakdown.com/2010/12/09/nba-basketball-breakdown-phoenix-suns-at-portland-trailblazers-wearing-nash-out/ The first clip has Nash successfully defending a cross-screen and taking it away. The second instance of Nash's defense, he correctly splits the defenders after his teammates double Aldridge, but he's too short to contest Batum. The third clip, Nash completely loses Batum who gets an easy tip-in. If that's a gameplan decision though, Channing Frye has to rotate and box out Batum and J-Rich has to box out Camby. The fact that Nash is upset leads me to believe that Frye was supposed to drop and never did. The next clip is at around 4:20. Nash gives a lot of space on the perimeter, but he fights through a screen, properly splits assignments in help scenarios, steps up on a Cunningham drive forcing a tough pass and a tough layup through three defenders. At around 4:50, Nash gets beaten downcourt in transition. At 6:11, Nash gets beaten completely off the dribble. At 6:23, Nash correctly rotates to take away Aldridge's mid-range jumper, but he's a bit too high. When the skip pass is made, he's too high to challenge Fernandez' drive, but he does take away the three. Because Hill rotates on time, it forces Fernandez to make a difficult pass to get a shot. At 6:40 Nash rotates perfectly onto Batum and goes to recover back to his own man, but Dudley assumes that it's he himself who will go back to Nash's man. Nash ends up out of position to check Batum, but that should've been Dudley on Batum. At 7:35, Nash sinks in to stop the penetration, but he doesn't need to...J-Rich has rotated over. Nash is in a good spot to help against penetration, but he's vulnerable to the defenders he's splitting shooting a three. He can't close on Batum in time and Batum hits a three. It's not good defense, as Nash still gets beaten one-on-one too easily, but more than half the time, his help was proper. In a game against the Heat this season where I charted every possession, Nash was scored upon for only 7 points in 9 possessions. He's far from the worst. Bargnani, if I could find the numbers, is pretty respectable in straight up post ups. His individual defense near the basket isn't terrible. His problems come from positioning, moving his feet, help defense, and guarding the perimeter.
  21. It doesn't say how much he's made, but this is the dude who essentially created the game: Satoshi Tajiri
  22. Coaches by their nature have to understand tactics and what players can do what things on a court. His credibility comes from the veracity of his statements, supported by video. Also the fact that he does give some weaknesses of each player (like thankfully pointing out that Paul isn't a great finisher despite his past percentages of shots at the basket). Not every point guard is completely 100% consistent hitting players in the numbers on passes. Tyreke Evans will throw a few passes a few inches to the left or right of his target every game for example. It's not much, but a handful of slightly off passes equals a handful of possessions that force extra work for his teammates. Other than that, there's nothing stopping you from doing this other than the desire, access, and time to do it. Editing is a long, tedious process, and not everybody has the ability to record in HD and have good audio quality on recordings. It's a very crisp production. If you want to do this, everybody will be excited and will provide an audience for your work. I know I will!
  23. Brian Cook is much worse than anybody on this list. Nash understands team concepts well and Bargs is a respectable post defender. Overall I wouldn't call anybody on RD's list anything close to even average on defense, but they aren't the worst defenders in the league.
  24. http://bballbreakdown.com/2011/03/05/nba-point-guard-extravaganza-whos-the-best-point-guard-in-the-nba-cp3d-willd-rosewestbrookrondo/ Coach Nick dissects the best point guards in the league and he's spot on with nearly all his assessments. I wish he pointed out that Westbrook is much worse than Rose at running an offense and making decisions, but he clearly demonstrates his superlative knowledge of the NBA. This is a must watch for any NBA fan.
