Rose is too out of control with his drives. He needs to make the game slower.He's out of control and misses a layup that was wide open cause Dirk turned away.

I like posting Brewer with Marion. Brewer's not as strong as Deng and Bowens in guarding Marion.

He's getting better. It used to be all line drives with him. He has a bit more arc by default this year but I'll pay attention to it in this fourth.

Amazing defense by Rose to fight over the screens and get back into plays. He's blocked three jumpers tonight. Terrific!

Great help by Kidd. He has a jump ball and a strip in the last handful of possessions.

Stevenson good job fighting through the wing screen helps for a jump ball.

Good passing by Asik and Bogans, Brewer hits a jumper. Asik is giving the Bulls a lot. Some passing to go along with terrific help defense.

Deng with more good defense contesting a Marion jumper and Tyson Chandler isn't worried about Rose's handle staying with a drive and blocking Rose's shot. Chandler has a firm case for All-Defensive second team this year.

Good rotation by Asik and Dirk misses a runner. He went up soft that time. I've said it before but the Bulls are best off with Deng on Dirk and for this game, they're best off with Asik on the floor.

That's the second down screen the Mavs have run for Chandler and he's hit it once now. He's come a long way as a jump shooter.

Gibson with a poor closeout smacking Pavlovic on the head on a three. You need to be more disciplined, especially as this isn't Stevenson shooting, it's Pavlovic.Let him prove he can make a three over a good contest.

Good call as Kurt Thomas always tries to commit these wily offensive fouls to free up his teammates' drives.

Good touch pass by Dirk to find the open man and there's Deshawn Stevenson knocking down the three. Dirk then doesn't put his hands up as Gibson hits a short jumper.

Rose is able to play so far up on defense, he really breaks up a lot of oppoent's screen/roll offense simply by working so hard. Thomas isn't a shot blocker, Chandler with nice touch, Mavs are back in the game.

Dirk was late recovering back to Thomas on that baseline screen and then he bought on a pump fake. It really broke that play down for Dallas' defense. The Mavs need to be more disciplined.

Dirk isn't bothered at all by Gibson in the post. He gets whatever he wants against him.

Asik dives for the looseball, the Bulls get the ball, leads to a dunk. The Bulls compete as hard as any team in the league. Rose hits a pull up three and the Bulls put major pressure on Dallas with a strong second quarter close. Very nice half by a very nice Chicago team.

Pavlovic' release is too slow. By the time he puts up his shot, Asik is able to contest it. Nice job by Thibodeau giving Asik playing lots of minutes, he's played great on defense.

What Reggie Miller doesn't understand is that it's hard to run the Mavs when they're sending four guys back in transition defense and are very coordinated in their defense.

Man, if you like defense, these teams are getting after it. The Bulls still have a bit of trouble finishing around the hoop---that has to do with the fact that Boozer and Noah are out and Rose misses some layups, and Dallas can't get much going aside from Dirk and Chandler post ups.

And Deng plays some terrific post defense and Dirk burps up an awful shot. People need to watch this guy, he has a legit beef to win DPoY as Dirk misses again in the post over Deng.

Outstanding defense from Deng with his hands up in Dirk's face and Dirk still hits it. Deng's just too short, but I do like him on Dirk more than Gibson.
