  1. Because there are no color guys better than JVG. It's a substantial jump from Clyde to JVG.
  2. Awful foul on Pierce...how do you hit Felton on the wrist 32 feet from the hoop. Bad, bad, play.
  3. Turiaf not withstanding, New York's defense is much worse when its bench plays. Douglas gets a ton of steals, but he's constantly reaching and gambling. This time, he picks up a bad foul on Paul Pierce when he's shooting a jumper.
  4. Mark Jackson: Yada yada yada, great play, not much you can do about that. JVG: Err, yeah you can. Play some defense.
  5. Pierce with a big time finish. Should've been a plus-one, and the Knicks come right back down with a Stoudemire dunk.
  6. KG posts, Davis great cut to the basket, good interior pass and a layup. Then Davis plays great defense on a Gallo drive, forces a miss.
  7. Stoudemire doesn't bother showing on a screen/roll, Pierce gets a wide open look that he misses. It's defense like that that will let the Celtics back into the game.
  8. Davis great job staying in front of Stoudemire on an iso forcing a bad miss.
  9. And Davis and Robinson team up to stymie another Knicks screen/roll.
  10. Of course Davis comes in to the game and picks up a steal. He matches up very well on New York's screen/rolls
  11. The Knicks put so much pressure on defenses with their spacing. Ray Allen has to wait when he's splitting on defense to see who he's covering because Boston's defense is in extreme rotation, and each player on that side can shoot with a quick release.
  12. JVG: That's not Semi Erden, that's the full Erden!" SMH, lol.
  13. Gallo's been very assertive on offense, and Urden is late on a reverse dunk. Meanwhile, KG posts Chandler and misses a short hook about four-feet away. That's the problem with the Celtics. KG's not very reliable in the post.
  14. Why? There's like zero rivalry between the teams. The last time the Celtics-Knicks were good at the same time was what, the early 70's?
  15. The Celtics are running a lot more weak-side action for Ray Allen. The Knicks switched it and played it well, but if you switch and don't get out on Allen's bump to the corner perfectly, it's a made shot for him.
  16. Pierce, nice step back jumper as Boston's offense is in gear. Now, Fields and the Knicks are dropping passes. Pierce hits a three.
  17. I love Stuart Scott trying to make the Knicks first half sound bigger than it is, saying things like how Boston has been outclassed. If not for a miracle three, the Celtics are down four to a fast-paced team. They're right there and Scott makes it seem like the Knicks are up 18...
  18. This is the kind of game where the Celtics miss Shaq. If he's in the lineup, it's either foul trouble or automatic double teams for New York's front line. The Celtics are going small to match the Knicks instead of forcing the Knicks to go big and match the Celtics. Right now, New York's spacing is impeccable and the Celtics are having trouble coping.
  19. The refs missed a blatant offensive foul on KG. After the Celtics screened, KG sealed Gallo and pushed him, preventing him from getting out on the drive to the basket.
  20. Stoudemire's been a huge help, but the biggest difference in New York's execution this year to the past two years? You used to be able to go under Chris Duhon's screens. You can't do that with this Raymond Felton.
  21. Stoudemire's on another level. KG D'd up an isolation incredibly well, and Stoudemire just shot over him.
  22. Yep, JVG hit it first. Stoudemire isn't great at reading defenses and making quick decisions when doubled. He throws a terrible pass away, and now the Celtics have tied the game.
  23. Stoudemire just hit a 12 foot floater where he changed direction and jumped off the wrong foot. Impressive touch. And Daniels and Allen hit some tough layups to get the Celtics back to within four.
  24. The Celtics have dropped so many passes this game. It's killing their offense.
