GM7: Memphis at Oklahoma City (tied 3-3)
Erick Blasco replied to Real Deal's topic in Oklahoma City Thunder Team Forum
Conley has really played strong. He's had the best all-around game for the Grizzlies, while Harden picks up another deflection and hits another tough shot. -

Mayo with three fouls, this could be trouble. Sam Young hasn't had a great half, and neither he nor Battier is going to score off the bounce. -

Brooks is a little bit simplistic, but his positive reinforcement and understanding of the basics is so good for such a young team. -

lol, I undersold him too. That was an 18-footer! -

Arthur is a much better shooter at home than he is on the road. He's tight right now. Same with Young. Young is playing very mechanically. -

Wow, Perkins making a foul line jumper. -

And they aren't going to get all of them right. That one was a missed call. Randolph was already jumping. -

Another great defensive play by Collison as Westbrook makes a good pass leading to a three. The Grizzlies need to find a way to get the ball to their playmakers. Mayo. Randolph. Gasol. -

Seriously. I mean, you chose the wrong player that helped lead your team to three Finals appearances and two championships. Did you forget that the Lakers won two championships? -

The refs have been fine. That wasn't a goaltend by Collison. -

And Daequan Cook shows why he doesn't ever shoot off the dribble. Nick Collison has been worth every bit of his $10 million contract extension he signed earlier this season! Seriously, that's his salary for this year, and it gets lower every year! -

Cook isn't catching and shooting, he's taking a dribble and shooting. He's making his shots more difficult as Harden makes a tough basket. -

You need to buy minutes for Mayo. You can't have him tired at the game. Young is playing some defense and is rebounding. You can live with him until the 9 minute mark when Mayo will probably sub in. -

That's not just good passing, that's great passing by the Grizzlies to get Young a goaltended layup. -

Maynor makes real good decisions and has talent. I'm very impressed with him. -

Strong move by Gasol to the middle---it's easier to earn calls when you make strong moves to the basket and don't shoot turnarounds. -

Memphis' role players are shooting tight at the onset. That could be huge if they don't loosen up. They need to provide spacing for Randolph and Gasol down low. The Thunder role players have played some good defense and could be much looser going forward. -

Good discipline by Steve Javie to not overreact to Harden falling down. Gasol didn't extend his forearm as much as Harden ran into it. That's one reason why Javie is such a good ref. -

That wasn't a confident jumper by Young, while Durant carelessly steps out of bounds. -

Another deflection by the Grizzlies. This is championship level defense. Nazr Mohammed playing some good defense by the Thunder, and Durant and Westbrook are so good in transition. -

Good help by Westbrook to contest Gasol's fadeaway as we see Harden make a play off the pass. -

Because as JVG said, he's not a good enough passer to draw and dish. He wants to get to the rim. His mindset is better. But he's not a strong enough player to score in extreme traffic, and his court vision isn't MVP-caliber to make great passes. -

Perkins takes so much time to gather himself---it allows the Grizzlies defense to gather and contest his layup. Collison has two blocks. What a huge start he's had in this game with his energy, his defense, and his hard work.
