  1. I think the entire world is ready to see Jackson traded.
  2. Why they need a shooting guard? Their plus/minus with West has been bonkers the past two years. West is a really good two-way player. What is Iverson going to do besides hog the ball, fail to play defense, and bring up his reputation as an all-star player the minute anyone criticizes him. Iverson makes teams worse. He has his entire career except for one season in which his teammates inexplicably murdered themselves for him. He doesn't belong on Cleveland.
  3. I was mad I missed Shareef Abdur Rahim because I spelled it Abdul-Rahim. I would never have guessed some of the players on the Bobcats and Celtics if I had 45 minutes, let alone 15. Who thinks of a top-5 decade scorer when they think of Matt Carroll or Mark Blount?
  4. I loved when I got two or three when i thought a player would be on a list for one team, but wound up on another instead.
  5. This Sacramento team aint half bad without K-Mart.
  6. Name the top 5 scorers for each team for the last decade. I got 106 out of 150 correct. http://www.sporcle.com/games/wisedrunker/00points
  7. I'd just like to point out, remember all the undeserved criticism Joakim Noah took his rookie year because he wasn't a dominating scorer despite having a stellar college career? The guy pulled down 21 rebounds, blocked 2 shots yesterday, and is shooting 60% while playing his [expletive] off on the defensive end.
  8. Cause you know, dominating the ball on offense is exactly what you want to do if you're injured. It's no surprise that Flip Saunders is calling out their lack of ball movement. How many teams with records greater than 2-6 are being called out for their lack of ball movement?
  9. Nice job there Arenas. 8 assists, 12 turnovers, 20 shots. Way to run a diversified offense.
  10. A player who is actually playing like an all-star! Get him in!
  11. Ball movement. Player movement. Posting up when defended by smaller players. Confidence. Spacing. Court Intelligence. Playing within one's limitations, but playing to the max of what a player can do. All things that make teams better. Plus, Aaron Brooks looks better and better the more he plays. He looks like the kind of player who can be a reliable late game scorer. I think they're better off with T-Mac staying far, far away. Dallas is a good test for Houston though. They give Houston some problems and are playing pretty good ball with Marion. I'm not surprised its a close game right now.
  12. What you wrote is What you meant is The offense is still totally perimeter oriented, there's no interior offense (Jamison can't be a complete excuse, everyone knows the Wizards are injury prone and lack frontcourt depth), and the defense is nonchalante. Same as always, only the excuses will be slightly different this time.
  13. lol, hopefully you didn't predict a victory over the Bulls too
  14. This is going to be an inexcusable loss. These are the kinds of losses that will really hurt late in the season when the Jazz are a game or two behind New Orleans or Houston for a final playoff spot and under all kinds of pressure to win every game.
  15. I hope fans aren't too shocked by this. Iverson's been this way his entire career.
  16. Don't overreact yet. Remember last season when the Spurs were off to an awful start and the entire team was injured and they ended up as a 3 seed.
  17. Remember when everyone talked about how awesome Ramon Sessions was? Luke Ridnour outscored him 16-2.
  18. I think it would help if he and Noah weren't on the same team. They're extremely similar, but while Thomas has more talent and a touch more athleticism, he makes too many mistakes. They can just play Noah, making Thomas expendable if he's not playing smart basketball. RD's right, I'd be surprised if he's still on the team next season.
  19. Why do the Knicks have about 5 national TV games this year? The rest of the country doesn't deserve to see suckage of such magnitude. And Houston has no national TV games. /facepalm
  20. With a title translated as "The Miserables," you can expect a depressing work. I can take the dreariness for a few reasons. One, the depth in which Hugo delves into the human condition is masterful. Every action, every thought has context within it, whether social, political, or personal to the characters. Nothing is left unexamined. Considering it's a 1500-page work, that's incredible. Secondly, suffering, and the desire to overcome it, is one of the most fascinating and appealing themes a narrative can offer because we all know what it's like to suffer and we all pull for characters to overcome. Finally, the constant desire to do good is greater than the sad fact that nothing good happens to Valjean, Cosette, or Fantine. They're such pure-hearted characters, you always want to read if they can overcome Javert and the cruel tendrils of blind justice. Just that theme alone of such a pure concept (justice) carried blindly to its extreme and becoming, in a way, the very thing it sets out to try and punish (evil)---it's one of the great themes literature can offer. If the books are anywhere as good as the movies, I'm sure you'll love LOTR. I'm with you on the names. My favorite novel series is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but slogging through names like Zaphod Beeblebrox was rough!
  21. He ended up in Vinny Del Negro's doghouse for arguing during a film session about a missed rotation, and they've played well without him on the floor. They won't notice his loss with Noah playing so well.
  22. Basketball-reference pegged the Wizards as the 3rd worst team in the East. They're now 2-4 with losses to ordinary Hawks, Heat, and Pacers teams. They play Phoenix, Cleveland, and go to Miami 3 of their next 4 games and could be 3-9 before a home date with Philly. Something to keep track of.
  23. A +20 rebound margin, holding Atlanta to 40% shooting, Raja Bell lighting it up, break up the Bobcats!
