Gilbert - "LeBron Quit"
BadgerFan replied to Cleveland's Finest's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
Gilbert has EVERY right to be pissed. Lebron didn't even tell them he was leaving until like 20 mins before the show. Seriously, if he made up his mind up in the morning, why couldn't he call the teams and tell them he's going to the heat? Lerbon is a fricken prick, and I hope the Heat don't make the playoffs. Awesome job Gilbert. -
Anyone else see this? Don't know if it's real, but if it is, it's AWESOME. Link: http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/news/gilbert_letter_100708.html

Here are some points from his article: Link: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-lebrondecision070710 Awesome, awesome article.

The AS game has, and always will be a joke until Selig gets out as commish, and when they make some changes. The voting percentage should be this: 40% Managers 40% Players 20% Fans No way should the all-star voting be just based on fan voting. Small Market teams would have no chance to get an all-star starter pretty much (look at Votto and Cincy) And the fact that Howard got it over Votto is completley stupid. Please tell me how Votto is worse then Howard: Joey Votto: .313 AVG, 19 HR, 57 RBI, .414 OBP, .574 SLG Ryan Howard: .293 AVG, 15 HR, 59 RBI, .349 OBP, .502 SLG Outside of 2 RBI's, Votto creams Howard in every stat category. Should have went: Pujols, Votto, Howard

Salmons Signs Five-Year Deal With Bucks
BadgerFan replied to Jenneral's topic in Milwaukee Bucks Team Forum
I don't think that the Gooden's deal set the bar for the other signings. Gooden can at least average 14/8 if he starts and if he plays 30 minutes a game. Hollinger had a good article that was made yesterday. Here's what he said that I totally agree with. Do you really think that the Bucks could have gotten anyone as good as Gooden for less then what they paid for him? The Bucks were looking for a starting PF, and Drew Gooden can at least be that person. Brandon Jennings should continue to get better, do I think he will be an all-star PG? Obviously not, but the potential is there. The main weakness that the Bucks had: They needed players to get to the free throw line, they needed better rebounding from the 4 spot. Those were the two big weakness that they had, and they adressed that. Maggette gets to the FT line at a very nice clip, and Gooden is a very good rebounder. These moves also allowed them the opportunity to pull the trigger, if someone like Danny Granger becomes available. A Redd/Ersan/Delfino package could be enough to land Granger at SF. This would allow Maggette to go to the bench, and allows more depth to the Bucks. Hammond isn't done either, they need to get rid of some of the depth, and they need a backup PG. But to call this a "franchise ruiner" is absoutley wrong. -
Salmons Signs Five-Year Deal With Bucks
BadgerFan replied to Jenneral's topic in Milwaukee Bucks Team Forum
The Bucks "ruined" their franchise? Are you fricken kidding me? In 2-3 years, the Bucks could always deal off Gooden and Salmons. Honestly, the contracts they handed out aren't THAT bad. Seriously, Amair Johnson got more then Gooden did, Joe Johnson, and Rudy Gay both got the max. The Bucks can handle this, and honestly, they got a LOT better this upcoming season compared to what they did last season. I totally understand why Hammond is doing what he is doing. When he was the GM of the Bucks, he had to get rid of contracts like Charlie Bell's, Dan Gadzurich's etc. He did that. He was going to build for 2011. But you know what changed that? Brandon Jenning's emergence, and how the Bucks played with Salmons in the 2nd half. They realized that they had a great team right now, and they added talent without getting rid of anyone with importance. They added CDR, Maggette, Gooden, and re-signed Salmons. They lost Charlie Bell and Danny G. And looking at the East, besides the Magic and maybe the Hawks, who are really going to be good this year? Let's say the Bulls got Lebron and Wade, of course they will be probably the team to beat. Then you would have the Cavs who would be siginficantly worse (if they lost Lebron) Miami is completley awful (espically if they lose out on Wade) The Bucks built a GREAT team right now, they will worry about what happens in 2-3 years then. Also, don't forget that Redd's 18 million contract will be up after this season, and he's an expiring contract which can be used as a trade piece. Don't forget also that they can package Redd with Ersan and get another piece to the puzzle. I think Hammond is doing a GREAT job this off-season. -
I just checked it, and the deal worked.
-
The Hornets would only do this trade if they can get rid of Okafor's contract. Otherwise there would be no point in trading CP3. They want to get rid of the salary they have, which is where Redd comes in as well. Chris Paul is 25 years old. He has at least 4-5 years until he is out of his prime years. He averaged 18.7 PPG, 10.7 APG, and 4.2 RPG last season, along with 40% from the 3 PT line, Paul's career line is: 19.3/4.7/10 with 47.3% FG, and 35.3% from the 3 PT line do you really think Jennings will be better then that? So your saying that adding a guy who is one of the Top 10 players in the league won't make the team better? That's retarded. The Bucks would go from a potential 50 win team, to at LEAST a 55 win team if not higher. Adding one of the best PG in the league's will make you better. It's easily the most important pos. in the NBA. Paul can do everything, something Jennings can't do.

Jenneral and I were having a discussion on AIM about this, what would you guys think of this deal for the Bucks? Ersan, Redd, and Jennings to the Hornets for Oakfor, and Chris Paul? The Bucks lineup would consist of this: PG: Chris Paul SG: John Salmons/CDR SF: Corey Maggette/Carlos Delfino PF: Emeka Oakfor/Luc Richard/Larry Sanders C: Andrew Bogut/Drew Gooden Would this be a good deal for Milwaukee? I think so, but Jenneral doesn't. I think with a Chris Paul type addition, that the Bucks could be contenders in the east. Jennings is going to be a good player, no doubt about that, but Chris Paul would bring the team to a whole new level. I think the Hornets would do this because they would save a ton of cap space (Redd is an expiring) and Jennings can replace Paul at PG, with Ersan being a very young PF for them. Thoughts?

If it's a 5 year deal for 32 million, it is an awful deal. But rumors are going around that the 5th year might be a team option, and even the 4th year might be a team option. So it would be a 3 year 16 million dollar deal which is much more reasonable. And the Bucks were going to save the money, let Redd expire next season, and then build the team through FA in 2011. That was the Bucks plan when Hammond took over, but you have to think about the run they made last season. With Salmons, they were the hottest team in basketball in the 2nd half, and without Bogut, they took the Hawks to 7 games. With Bogut, they would have easily beaten the Hawks. They won 46 games last year as well. Why not be aggresive in FA this year? Do you think Jennings and Bogut are going to be with the Bucks 4-5 years from now? The window is now, and Hammond realized that. If he would re-sign Salmons (rumored that they are close) then they have added everyone back from last season excluding Ridnor, and Thomas, but would have added Maggette, CDR, Sanders, Gooden. Talent wise, that team is much more better. Here would be the Bucks team as of right now: PG: Brandon Jennings SG: John Salmons/CDR SF: Corey Maggette/Carlos Delfino/Hobson PF: Drew Gooden/Ersan/Luc Richard/Sanders C: Andrew Bogut/Drew Gooden/Gallon The Bucks could still get Ridnour and Thomas back as well. Honestly, looking at that roster, it's MUCH more improved. And 50+ games isn't out of the question.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A ... buzz063010 Would be a huge deal for Milwaukee. Jennings, Salmons, Maggette, Ersan, Bogut.

We all know that the Bucks need a legit starting SG, and to me, they have 3 options that they can pursue. 1. Ray Allen Ray Allen would be awesome to have in a Bucks uniform again, and to be honest, he would be a PERFECT fit on the team. The Bucks need someone who can shoot the ball outside, and Allen would do that. Why would Allen sign with the Bucks? To me, this is a very fair question considering he just came from Boston, and went to the NBA Finals. The Celtics are absoutley done. Rivers is probably retiring, Wallace retired, Pierce opted out, and the "Big 3" will be down to the "Big 1" pretty soon. Now, remember when Allen was a Buck for most of his career? He was the star of the franchise, and everyone from Milwaukee loved him. He was devestated when the Bucks traded him. At the end of the 05 season he wanted to come back to Milwaukee, but Larry Harris said no. Allen can retire a Milwaukee Buck, and help lead the Bucks to the playoffs, and who knows how far they can go. 2. John Salmons I really don't think John Salmons is coming back, just because of the amount of cap space that teams have, and we know that some team will throw out a huge offer to Salmons. I would defintley offer a very fair deal for him, something along the lines of 3/21 and see what happens. Salmons would be another very good fit on the Bucks team, and I would love to have him, but I don't see it happening. 3. Mike Miller Mike Miller is a very good outside shooter, kind of like Ray Allen, but he'll probably come cheaper as well. He's a legit scoring option, and he plays decent D. Would love to have Miller on the team. Who else might be options for the Bucks?

Awesome job.

NBA rule states that as long as you have posistion, your allowed to not have your feet set in order for it to be a charge. Bogut had clear posistion, and Kobe spun right into him. It's a clear cut charge imo. He traveled first anyways, and he spun right into Bogut who had posistion.
-
They would have been up by 4 with 40 seconds left, instead it's a one point game. It made a HUGE difference. Even some NBA anylsists are saying that the call was a joke. If Bogut would have drove in and did the same exact thing against Kobe Bryant, do you think it would be a charge or a block? Answer is pretty obvious imo.
-
I think we can have a pretty good debate on this topic about last night's game. Lakers fans think this was a block, while a lot of other people think it's a charge. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2G6LymlDMk You be the judge (he traveled before that anyways)
-
Wow, are you kidding me? The MLB gets WAY more people to watch and go to the stadium, then the NBA will ever get. College Basketball probably gets more attention then the NBA. The refs bias towards star players is so incredible, you can't stand watching it unless you are a big market team with start players ex: Lebron, Kobe.
-
Are you serious? Bogut was STANDING there, Kobe takes 4 STEPS, and he runs into Bogut, and they call it a block. Marc Davis is a [expletive]ing joke. There is a reason why the MLB and NFL will always get more attention then the NBA will ever get.
-
Wow. The NBA is [expletive]ing rigged, I'm sorry, but it just is. Kobe takes 4 STEPS, runs into Bogut (who was outside of the line) and they call it a BLOCKING foul. They had to get together as well, and THEN make the call. Bucks played better, and SHOULD have won, but the NBA is rigged, it will always be rigged until they get rid of Stern. This is [expletive]ing pathetic.
