Perk was a good man defender in the low post, but overall as a defender he was just average. The reason the Celtics have an elite defense is because of KG. You can see it in the numbers. When Perkins missed time, the numbers barely changed. Without KG, there is a significant increase in points allowed and opponents FG%. And the reason he factored into game 7 of the Finals is because of the Celtics lack of depth at center. They had him and an out of shape Rasheed Wallace, that's it. Assuming they are healthy this year, they now have 4 centers.

Wow, Perkins might be the most overrated player in the history of the NBA. Why do people think he is so good?

Wow. I guess they don't care if he fits in or not. Or care if he's able to bounce back completely from that injury.

So Orlando isn't a contender, but the Bulls (with 2 more wins) are? I'm puzzled.

Sure, his D has improved, but he's not the best defender on his team like Dwight is, and Orlando is 4th in team defense. Chicago is a top 5 defensive team with or without Rose. Orlando is probably not even top 10 without Dwight. This is why I give Dwight the edge. They both score pretty evenly. One gets assists, the other rebounds. The defensive ability is what I think separates the two.

Well, those people are probably hockey fans because one quick look at their team defensive statistics will show you why they are so good.

I think Rose is having an overrated season. That team is winning because they are playing great team defense. I would actually pick Dwight Howard as the MVP so far. He has awesome numbers and his team would be terrible without him.

The one advantage Ray has in this comparison is shooting, but when you look at the numbers, it's not even that big of an advantage.

I think a dunk version of HORSE would be the way to go. Eliminate judges and fan votes, If you can do dunks none of the others can do, you win.

I swear people just regurgitate what the announcers say sometimes. Reggie Miller says it's harder for a 6 foot 11 guy to FT dunk, so it must be true.

DeRozan basically took Iguodala's "robbed" dunk and added a between the legs to it, and people say it was nothing special?

Can somebody explain to me why it's a disadvantage for a guy with longer legs and longer arms to complete a FT line dunk?

I don't see why Ibaka's height makes his FT dunk more impressive.

The fan voting in the Finals is so stupid, though. Blake could have done 2 basic dunks and won, since McGee is pretty much a nobody.
