  1. We get it...you hate LeBron. It was old many months ago, but now you're just on a crusade.
  2. Using the horizontal lines is fine, just fade them a bit more so they don't stick out quite as much. Nice work.
  3. Yes, a signficantly better deffender. As you said, Duncan was a true defensive anchor, and he was dominant at that, anchoring some of the best defenses in NBA history. Pretty much every advanced stat, from Drtg to DWS, show how huge of an advantage Duncan has over Malone there. Give me a break. The Lakers were coming off a 3-peat, and they still had a prime Kobe and Shaq. I agree those Bulls teams were probably better, but Malone also had one of the greatest PG's of all-time by his side and a very solid supporting cast. Malone also performed nowhere near as dominantly as Duncan did against the Lakers.
  4. Ellis had the better year last year, but I feel Johnson is the better player. The issue with Ellis is he's a tweener; he's an explosive scoring SG in a PG's body. Therefor, it is very difficult to pair him up with the right kind of backcourt player to balance him out in a starting lineup and win an NBA title. Ellis is a more explosive volume scorer than Johnson, but Johnson is usually slightly more efficient scoring the ball, more under control and efficent as a ballhandler/playmker, a better rebounder and better defender.
  5. It's very close, but give me Duncan. Malone was easily the better scorer, but besudes that he had nothing on Duncan. Duncan was a significantly better defender, a better rebounder, better post player and post passer, and a better clutch player and playoff performer (which is Malone's biggest knock). He was an overall better and easier player to build a championship team around. Also, as far as the Jordan excuse for Malone having no rings, Duncan defeated the 3=peat Kobe/Shaq Lakers with Robinson being his last year, and Parker/Ginobili/Jackson all being 1st/2nd year players. That post-season, one of the greatest I've ever seen, he averaged 25/15/5 wirh 3+ blocks, and led his team to the championhip. In his prime, he was plain a more dominant and impactful player than Malone was.
  6. Well, I have no idea what a completely healthy Oden can be capable of, so going by the only season where he played the majority of the games, I'd say they'd move up a bit, but wouldn't seriously be contenders. Now, if Oden fulfilled much of the potential he had coming out of college, then I'd say they would possibly be favorites to win the championship.
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6xy4kN_Zp8 Sex for my ears...eargasm after eargasm. The mini-Ether...I really wish this beef got full-blown, then Nas would have made 50 cry on Hot 97 like Jay did after Ether.
  8. Nah, she's from the area. She had a twitter that she deleted, but there are pictures around of her in an OKC jersey, and people google'd her name and found stuff about her from HS (she was an honors student and whatnot).
  9. http://deadspin.com/5823471/my-frustrating-sexting-sessions-with-ron-artest Oh boy...wow.
  10. I've had a similar problem. In the last 5-6 months, the battery has not charged when plugged in except on very rare (like once a month occurances) where it will actually charge. The only time it will charge on thos occasions is when the computer is turned off and I plug the computer into an outlet; the charging light will come on, and I let it go for about an hour and then turn the computer on.
  11. 2nd year. As you mentioned, he was dealing with plantar faschiatis all season, which is a very difficult injury to play through. However, his game is centered around dominating the ball, so while he may put up impressive stats, he needs to learn how to play off-ball and learn to become a better defender, especially now with Jimmer on the team.
  12. He's better as a 6th man, although he should be getting closer to 30MPG than he has in the past. He's a good scorer and an underrated passer, but he just doesn't offer the kind of all-around game that you'd preferably like from a starter, and his style of plat fits better as a 6th man. With that said, I do think the Thunder need to get rid of Sefolosha as a starter, even if it means starting Harden. Thabo is just way too much of a liability offensively, which kills them in 4th quarters when team's zero-in on Westbrook and Durant.
  13. As long as you're with other, sober people, you should be fine. But having a bunch of people tripping in the middle of the woods can be a nightmare. Personally, I wouldn't do it. Also, acid lasts a lot longer than shrooms, so be prepared to be tripping for over 10 hours, and make sure you have a bunch of weed or else it'll be extremely difficult to fall asleep. Also, one more thing...slow it down on the hallucinogens, they aren't really meant to be done often, like even once a month is a little much for those.
  14. I agree that a PG's offensive abilities mean more than a PG's defensive abilities, but I was just replying to the whole "team concept' thing you threw out there. Also, a big piece of Kidd's value that you are missing is versatility. As I said before, even though he's way past his prime, Kidd's versatility to be able to defend 3 positions effectively afforded the Mavs the opportunity to give Barea and Terry way more minutes in that series than they would have got if you replaced Kidd with a regular PG who is stuck in defending just the PG position. That opportunity was the difference between a title and another Finals exit to the Heat. And in Kidd's prime, he was grabbing 7-8RPG, which was especially important in the VC years with the Nets, when the Nets had absolutely no help on the boards, and he ended up leading the team in boards 3 straight seasons. Those seasons the Nets basically were at a draw against opponents on the boards, and that's all on Kidd...any other PG and those eams would have been destroyed on the boards.
  15. So is offense, especially for PG's who make a living off of other players setting picks, running plays and finishing plays off. And do not discount Kidd's defensive ability...hell, he is way past his prime, but without his ability to defend 2's and 3's, the Mavs would have likely lost the Finals because having Kidd enabled the Mavs to hide Barea and Terry defensively when they ran a small backcourt (which was very often), and gave them another defender to throw at LeBron (who Kidd played very well). Having Barea or Terry on Wade all those minutes Kidd defended him, and things would have gotten ugly and forced Carslile to make panic moves, like how Spoelstra paniced in the final 2 games with some horrible adjustments.
  16. Who had the better career is really difficult. Kidd has more All-NBA 1st team appearances (5 to 3), far more All-Defensive selections (9 to 0), more All-Star selections (10 to 7), and has a championship as a key piece. However, Nash has 2 MVP awards, had considerably higher assist averages in the 5 years he led the league compared to the 5 years Kidd led the league, and his amazing 3 year-run from 05-07 was more dominant (in terms stats+team success+awards) than any point in Kidd's career. Overall, I'd probably give Kidd the slight edge. As for who I'd take to build around in their prime, it depends completely on my team. If I need my PG to be able to score consistently and efficiently, as well as run an offense to near-perfection, I'd take Nash. He was a far better scorer than Kidd ever was, and IMO was the better playmaker as well. However, in general, I think it'd be easier to build around Kidd because of how versatile he was. He was an amazing playmaker, could really dominate games with his rebounding ability at the PG position, was a fantastic defender who could (and can still) defend up to 3 positions effectively, was an ok scorer when his team needed that out of him, and he also could do all of the intangibles, such as leadership, setting picks, control tempo, etc... So, I'd probably take Kidd for both, but it's extremely close. Prime Nash was lethal, close to a perfect PG offensively.

  19. And I'm not going to look it up, but I'm sure ticket prices for MLS games are also considerably cheaper than the NBA and NHL.

  22. I disagree. How often did you hear JVG say in the Heat series that Dirk was killing them by leaking out in transition and not going after the boards, which created 2nd chance opportunities? I agree that Dirk shouldn't be expected to dominate the offense boards like Barkley did, however on the defensive boards there is no excuse...and both prime Barkley and KG were much better on the defensive glass. And offensively, grabbing offensive boards often leads to the highest percentage shots in basketball besides fastbreak points, so I do think you are underrating the importance of Barkley and KG's dominance there. Malone wasn't a natural scorer? There was an 11 season stretch where 9 of those seasons he averaged more points than Dirk's career-high. 8 seasons Malone finished top 3 in scoring, whereas Dirk has never finished better than 4th. And factoring in FT%, both were equally efficient scorer (about .580 for their careers). If you want to say Dirk is an equal scorer, fine, but he isn't a better scorer. Ok, fine, but what about what Tyson Chandler did for Dirk? Without a DPOY candidate at center, one who could cover up for Dirk's mistakes and defend the other team's elite PF (like he did with Bosh), what has Dirk ever done? And yes, I remember very, very clearly the criticism KG faced when he was with the Wolves, just like the criticism Dirk faced just 3 months ago...it was unfair. Not every big man is a Duncan or Hakeem, you need other guys who make up for your weaknesses to win a championship. However, with KG, Cassell's main advantage was his ability to create his own shot in the 4th quarter. With Dirk, he needed a guy that could cover up his defensive mistakes and clean the boards for all 4 quarters. So, who was more valuable, Chandler or Cassell? Both Dirk and KG were first round knockouts the previous seasons without either guy. Yeah, I remember that, but Dallas had a "Big 3" of their own in Dirk, Nash and Finley, and all 3 lit it up that series. They also owned HCA throughout that series, and Dallas won 7 more games during the regular season. To expect the Wolves to win a series like that's very misguided, and even though Dirk outplayed KG, KG still had a pretty fantastic series (averaged 24/17/5/2/2). It's like ripping Dirk for the Mavs losing to the Spurs last season...he wasn't at fault either, and his team actually did own HCA. Why did the Celtics win the championship that season? A defense that'll go down as one of the best all-time, and besides the '04 Pistons I've never seen a better defensive team than that version of the Celtics. And who gets credited, by analysts, teammates and coaches, for getting them to that level emotionally? KG. Who won the DPOY that season? KG. Who led the team in rebounds and was 2nd in scoring, and 3rd is assists, on top of that defensive dominance? KG. So, I think you are way over-valuing scoring. That season I think you could have replaced Pierce with 3 or 4 different perimeter players who could have done what he did. However, I don't think they could have found another big man that covered as much ground and dominated as much defensively as KG did (while getting everyone else, such as Pierce and Allen who were never known as great defender to buy in), while being able to be the top rebounder on the team, 2nd highest scorer and 3rd in assists. That's why versatility is so important, and why he was definitely the best player KG's 13th season he won DPOY and a title. We'll have to see Dirk's next few seasons to see if he has substantially better longevity, however he may go down with a knee injury and never be the same like what happened in KG's 14th season. I agree in principle, however there is difference between having minimal differences (like Jordan/Pippen did in most areas), and having massive differences like the gap between Dirk and KG's ability to rebound, defend and pass (IMO on the passing part). KG was never Dirk when it came to scoring, but he was still a damn good scorer who could score in solid volume (20-24PPG) and efficiency (consistently between 47-50% shooting, .550-.570 TS%). He was never in the same realm of clutch scoring as Dirk, but IMO KG's ability to DOMINATE defensively and on the boards all 4 quarters is more valuable. And it was a lot more likely to see KG explode and come up huge in the 4th quarter (like Game 7 vs the Kings in 2004) than it is to see Dirk dominate the way KG dis defensively/on the boards on a nightly basis.
  23. Yes, dominate in ways Dirk can't. Dirk was AMAZING this post-season, no doubt...however there were still things he did not do well. He grabbed over 10 boards only 3x in the first 15 games of the post-season (and he's never grabbed 10RPG or more in any regular season). Even though he's an improved, passable defender, he's still the worst defensive player in the Mavs starting lineup and the guy other team's target in PnR situations. And yes, he's a good passer, but when teams throw a hard double at him he still doesn't handle it well and is prone to turnovers (see- end of Game 3 vs. the Heat). Barkley, in his prime, was actually scoring more on greater efficiency than Dirk ever has. That's not to say he was necessarily a better scorer, but the difference is minimal. However, Barkley can be argued as one of the greatest rebounders of all-time, and could literally dominate a game on the glass...something Dirk cannot. In that 1993 post-season where he brought the Suns to the Finals, he had 8 games with over 15 boards, and 2 triple-doubles. Which brings me to he was also a very, very good passer as well. Also, if you want to see how dominating and clutch he was that season the Suns made the Finals, look at his 44pt/24reb Game 7 against the Sonics in the WCF...I actually think I posted a video of that on here a year ago. Malone was just as good of a scorer as Dirk, a far better defensive player (even when he was on the Lakers where he gave Duncan fits in the conference semi's), a better rebounder, and comparable passer. When KG was stuck on the Wolves he was stuck on some of the all-time worst teams in NBA history. For years he had Wally Z and a mix of Trenton Hassell and other average-at-best role players. He was forced to do more for those teams than Dirk has ever had to do with the Mavs just to get them into the playoffs...score 20-25PPG, lead the league in rebounding (did it 4 years in a row), lead all big-men in assists, and play elite defense, as well as be the team's emotional leader. Doing all that got them into the playoffs where they would routinely face the Kobe/Shaq Lakers in the first round, without HCA. His prime was wasted. The one year he had a realistic chance to win a championship his 2nd option/#1 perimeter player went down in the 2nd round. And after that happened, it was basically him and Spree with a few average role players against the Kobe/Shaq+GP/Malone Lakers. Speaking of what KG did with the Celtics during his one championship run, do you think Dirk could have done what KG did? That's a prime example of why I put so much value into the other areas of the game besides scoring/clutch scoring. That season KG had one of the greatest defensive seasons in NBA history (winning DPOY in the process), was putting in around 20PPG, cleaning the glass, his passing was one of the things that made that offense click, and as everyone knows he was that team's emotional leader and the person who got everyone to buy into what became one of the greatest defenses in NBA history. Even if he wasn't the team's clutch scorer, he was still the team's best player (even though Pierce was stellar that post-season as well). And I've seen both play pretty much their entire primes, and I can't believe anyone would say Dirk is close to be as good of a passer as KG. I tried showing you video evidence (passes that you just don't see Dirk being able to make) and stats to prove what I've been seeing the last 10+ years, which is that KG is very clearly the better passer. I can't believe I'm even arguing that. I think that's a fair point, but you can't go by age. KG was drafted and played right out of high school, and so far has played in 200 more games (2 1/2 seasons) than Dirk has so far. With Barkley that is an extremely good point, though.
  24. I actually think I agree with that list completely, except I'm tempted to move Dwight over Kobe. 23/14 on 60%$ shooting along with being the most dominant defensive player in the league is very hard to turn down. I'd still probably put Kobe over him, but that probably has more to do with what he was doing 2-3 seasons ago as opposed to what player he is today...next season will give a clearer picture.
  25. Hahahaha wow you took it way too seriously it was meant to be an awkward joke, not an actually serious depiction of Germans.
