I love Rakim. Never was a big fan of KRS-One, always thought his rhyme scheme was too simple and his actually songs aren't very good. Rakim was a genius, though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3rPeVvte0U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JdvMypE6bw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWJLXU1rxSo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwUxHH1G6Do Listen to those. He may not have the swagger that Jay-Z has or the kind of music people can dance to, but lyrically he is absolutely unbelievable. His vocabulary, knowledge, flow, and metaphores is out of this world. I agree that Reasonable Doubt was a GREAT album, but as I said in my previous post, those other albums by those other rappers I listed are all better IMO (and all noted as classics, besides maybe Revolutionary Pt II because Technique is underground). I just think Jay doesn't have the raw talent to be considered a top 5 all-time rapper, and to me R.D isn't good enough to push him into that position.

He has a way better discography than any of those guys...WHAT?!? IMO, Illmatic, It Was Written, Stillmatic, Capital Punishment, Revolutionary Volume 2, Slim Shady/Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show, All Eyez On Me, Ready to Die, Black on Both Sides, Doe or Die, Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous, The Big Picture, and Paid In Full are ALL better than any album Jay-Z has made (his best being Reasonable Doubt IMO). Jay does have a longer discography than most of them, mainly because 4 of them are dead, and a few of them are underground or haven't put out many albums. But, at their best they were/are all better than Jay-Z IMO. Jay does have great wordplay, but not better wordplay than Em, Big L, Biggie, Big Pun or AZ, and it's not even close. He doesn't come close to the rhyming abilities of those guys, Nas, Immortal Technique, Rakim or Canibus. His songs don't have as much deepness as Nas, Rakim, Canibus, Em, Mos Def or Immortal Technique. He doesn't have the flow of Biggie, Pun, Em, L or AZ. He doesn't have the creativeness of Nas or Em. He doesn't have any strong political idealogies like Mos Def or Technique. He doesn't have the punchlines that Technique, L or 'Bis do. He doesn't have as complex of a flow as most of those guys do. I never got the fascination with Jay-Z. I always really, really liked him, but he does nothing in particular that's so great which sets him apart from the pack like those guys do.

I used to lift in my room, and a lot of times I was the only person in the house when I had time to lift. Besides, it is perfectly safe to lift without a spotter as long as you keep the clamps off, so if you fail on a rep and get in that position, you can just slide the weights off. In that video the bar got caught on the pin that adjusts the rack (so it can go up and down), which is why that looked so bad. But I never had problems with that method. ^^Cali- Drugs and laziness are why.

Jay is a very good rapper, but lyrically he isn't on the level of the all-time greats IMO. From a lyrical standpoint he isn't on the level of Nas, Big L, Em, Immortal Technique, Biggie, Canibus, Rakim, Pac, AZ, Mos Def, etc...

You've never done it so you have no idea if it's whack. Alcohol is whack...comparably addictive physically, you get a lot more sick, a lot less euphoria, a hangover, and it is far more dangerous to drive on or be around people in general. It's also more damaging to the body and mind, and is the only drug you can actually die from the withdrawals. But, because it's socially acceptable and a product of big business, everyone turns their head. Heroin isn't anything like what people think it is...take a few pain killers and it's virtually the exact same thing.

LeBron torn on entering All-Star dunk contest

LeBron torn on entering All-Star dunk contest
Nitro replied to deestillballin's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
I'd like to see him enter, but honestly I don't think he's an awfully creative dunker, and he's lost a tiny bit of the hops he had a few years ago. It'd probably be best fot himself if he stayed away from it, but the dunk contest desperately needs star power. Ever since the dunk contest where Josh Smith jumped over Kenyon and Amare finished the alley-oop off Nash's head, the contest has been brutal to watch. I miss the J-Rich and Desmond Mason duels -_- -
Heroin. 7:30 virus stamp from good ole Newark.

Now I can only bench about 205-210, but back in my senior year of high school (end of 2008) I was able to bench 315. I started doing mad drugs and lost a lot of strength and muscle, and since then I haven't gotten consistently back into lifting. Below is me benching 285 when I was a high school junior... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjpn7NE5hnE

Nets getting frustrated with Denver's demands?
Nitro replied to Dash's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Melo isn't worth all that. He is a great player, but that kind of deal should only be made for a LeBron caliber player, not Melo. I don't get how the Nuggets think they can be this stingy when they don't have a ton of leverage. Melo needs to get traded to get his contract extension before the new CBA, and the Nuggets will get nothing in return if they stay this bone-headed. They both have major stake in this situation's resolution, so both parties need to make some compromises. -
How so? Paul is better than Rose (more efficient from the field, 3 and FT line, a much better passer who averages less turnovers, a better rebounder, and better defender), Manu is much better than this year's Brandon Roy, Pierce is slightly better than Gay, Griffin is better than Love, Bogut is more well rounded and a much better defender than Bynum, Arenas is better than Jameer, Brown is better than Thorton, Lamar is better than Wallace, Blair and Kenyon are a wash, and Chandler and Okafor are about a wash. By my count, the individual matchups are 6-2-2 in favor of Team A. Besides the individual matchups, Team is A is better defensively and has more balance offensively.

[expletive] my arms are a wreck. I've shot 3 bags of dope today and on this last shot it took me 20min to find a vein. It feels like my arms are on fire and I'm starting to bruise. The dope is mad good, though, so it was worth it and I don't feel the pain :glasses:

Team A. Better offensive balance and a stronger defense.

I wouldn't until the offseason. Right now Anthony is the only Center on the roster with anything that resembles athleticism, making him a valuable asset against teams with quick big men and/or great team ball movement that forces the Center to make fast rotations. However, if they could somehow acquire a quick Center in the offseason that has some size and rebounding ability, then I wouldn't hesitate to trade Anthony. Against teams with big men who have size and strong rebounding ability, Anthony gets exposed and becomes a liability, and if the Heat can find a legit starting Center then he'd be useless. In that case, I'd roll the dice on a raw project like Thabeet and get a chance to unlock his potential. But relying on him right now, without him proving anything on the NBA level yet, would be too much of a risk.
-
Simple answer...for the majority of the season they've had midgets play the frontcourt positions, and after the trade they have less talent than they had before.

21pts, 8ast, 4reb, 7-11 from the field (1-1 from 3 and 6-6 from the FT line), and 3 steals tonight in a win against the Celtics. :glasses:

How can the Cavs fix this?
Nitro replied to Cleveland's Finest's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
Admit you needed LeBron. Admitting your problem is the first step in recovery. Seriously. I think Gilbert and company truly thought this team was capable of competing without LeBron, and they were dead wrong. They have to blow it up and start piling lottery picks. -

I don't believe there is currently a NWO currently in the process of taking over the world, but I do feel in the not-too-distant future a NWO will be necessary for evolution to be possible.

After tonight's loss, the Lakers will drop to 21-10 after starting the season. IMO, they're most impressive win was against the Bulls (without Boozer) at home. They've lost in Denver, in Utah, in Chicago, in San Antonio, and at home against Phoenix and Miami. Now, they've had some key injuries (Bynum specifically), and certainly aren't playing with a ton of heart, so the issue may be non-existent as the season progresses. However, I've seen a few alarming things that will prevent them from winning another championship... -Kobe is taking way too many shots. Kobe continues to decline athletically, and his fingers/hand isn't going to get much better, so leading the entire league in FGA per 36min (21.1 heading into tonight, the only player in the league with over 20) with as much supporting talent he has is unacceptable. I completely understand that he has two starters shooting sub-40% this season (which I will get to shortly), but besides those two players Kobe is shooting the worst percentage on the team among players taking over 5+ shots per game. I think Kobe will be fine, but he has to understand that the team runs most effectively when his teammates are more involved. In the 21 wins this season, Kobe is averaging 17.8 FGA's per game, and shooting 46% from the field. In the 9 recorded losses, he's taking 23.3FGA's per game (will go up after tonight's loss) and shooting 42.4% shooting (will go down after tonight). Basically, he's got to take a little step back, focus more on getting everyone else going, and try to be more efficient with the shot attempts he does get. -The PG play this season has been unbelievably bad. 39% shooting for Fisher, 37% shooting for Blake, both with under 2.5APG, and neither have been effective defensively. They are hitting their 3's, but sub-40% shooting from the starting AND backup PG is unacceptable, especially when neither player is doing much else. This is a huge problem. Should the Lakers try and see if Blake will improve, or should they make a trade? Personally, I would let it play out and see if there is some improvement as Blake gets more comfortable in the triangle, but if there isn't they need to make a move IMO. -Artest has been awful. He's still a very good defensive player, but he is no longer a dominant player on that end of the floor, and his offense has been even worse than last season. He's at that age where he will only continue to decline, so if I were the Lakers trading Artest would be a move I'd make immediately. He is an offensive liability, and his defense simply doesn't make up for what they lose on that side of the ball. -The fact that the Lakers have been this complacent is a concern in and of itself. I understand they are the defending champs, and had a similar run last season, and did it to a degree in the 2009 post-season, but you can only play with fire so many times before getting burnt. The Celtics have only gotten better from last season, the Mavs and Spurs are vastly improved, and the Heat are starting to look scary. I think the level of competition is stronger than it has been in years, and if the Lakers show any kind of this arrogance or complacency in the post-season, they WILL NOT win a 3rd title. IMO a change or two has to be made to kick their asses into gear and hopefully give them some energy. Thoughts?

Did you guys read the quote? It says the Magic will go after him if he's bought out.

They have relevancy as it shows that you can make an impact in at least 2 areas of the game, but besides that they don't mean much. Even triple doubles can be over-valued, although they are an amazing feat.
