Big Baby is pretty undersized and hes a good defender. He basically won Boston Game 4 along with Lamar Odom. Correct me if im wrong but he finished with Pau on him and scoring also. Pau is no pushover anymore also. He also came up big against Miami when Celtics needed him most, because of Garnett's suspension. He didnt play particulary well against Orlando or Cleveland, maybe 1 or 2 good games. Also during the regular season Davis was coming off of an injury and never really cemented a spot in the side with the addition of Rasheed Wallace. Varejao shot 42% for the playoff (also not good for his size). but to his credit he did shot around 58% for the season.

They are both high energy players who come off the bench for contenders. Very similar, energetic defenders, and good finishers around the rim.

Because defense is a more important concept in the league right now. When Wilt was a 7 footer there werent many more to go around. The nba has a lot of them right now. Yao never played over 37.2 minutes in his career for a season. To be honest Wilt was also a better player than Yao, being more mobile and athletic. But in a much weaker era you cant compare his scoring to Kobe and Jordan. Its just a toss up between those 2.
