Bradshaw is out again this weekend. Beatty is out, and Michael Clayton was just placed on IR with a torn meniscus. Not a huge contributor offensively, but was a definite special teams contributor. Ware probably won't play with a lingering concussion. Da'Rel Scott time? We need a win in one of our next two games to have any hope of the playoffs.

Agreed with all of this, Sid is great for hockey. Really awesome to watch him come back from that dreadfully lingering injury and have the sort of impact he did right off the bat.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I was anxious to see the one for the Deveaux suspension, and I think he nailed it.

It is a brutal schedule, which is why you have to beat the Seahawks and Redskins. Two losses to those teams is bad. Losing to the hapless Eagles was bad. They don't have a middle linebacker, which kills the defense. 6th and 7th round and undrafted rookies are getting starts. The offensive line has been horrible. There is no running game. The Giants are a mediocre club, injuries and excuses or not.

Yeah maybe not. Most football fans I know IRL are pretty reactionary and fairweather, so I don't put too much stock into their comments.

Would help a lot of the overall confusion if we could just apply the same value to the given award as we do to the Cy Young. It's one of the major awards given out by the MLB each year, but it's generally ignored. Best hitter, best pitcher, most valuable. Makes sense!

Yeah they do, it's called the Hank Aaron Award. Pretty much the same thing as the Cy Young but for hitters, and it's given to the top voted batter for each league. Winners? Matt Kemp and Jose Bautista. Perfect. It gets absolutely no recognition, because most fans and media outlets recognize the MVP as the best hitter already. But, maybe after this year and Verlander's selection, that changes? When you talk about "Most Valuable", it's all perception. For voters, a guy who had similar stats to Kemp but carried his team down a playoff stretch and had countless winning hits in a divisional race gets extra points. Is that fair? Maybe not.. but at least Kemp was already recognized as the best National League batter. There is definitely some weight to be added to playing well in a playoff race when considering "value" and "most valuable".

Well, the penalty was deserved. A declined defensive holding call turned into offsetting penalties and a replay of downs. Just a really, really dumb move, all to showboat and promote himself in a negative light. Not that it matters, as the Eagles won the game regardless.

You're a fan of the team, so I wouldn't expect you to agree with me. It's hard to be objective about your favorite team, and maybe I'm guilty of the same here. But, I think it's playing both sides of the coin. Throat slash is a huge fine/penalty, hitting the football with a pylon is a huge fine/penalty, but firing an automatic weapon into a crowd is bawce. Wearing orange cleats is a huge fine, but knocking a guy out with the crown of your 350 lb helmet and then firing a fake pistol at him as he's out cold on the ground is awesome. There are classy ways to celebrate and handle yourself on a football field, and there are the Eagles.

Not to mention Brian Rolle spraying an AK after a tackle for loss, Cullen Jenkins firing a pistol at a concussed D.J. Ware (following a 300 lb. launched helmet to chin hit).. There just can't be a more unlikeable team. Ugh.
