  1. Hightower, or Beanie with Jacobs as a backup in case he can't go?
  2. No Tuck today, but Osi will make his debut. He'd better show up to play!
  3. Why do people still pitch to Cano, when they can maneuver around him and throw to A-Rod and Tex?
  4. Also, Jeffrey Maier is disappointed with the fan reaction on Cano's double.
  5. I'd say he's much better than all three without blinking an eye. Maybe I overrate him, but I think the difference between Calvin and Miles is plenty.
  6. I think Santonio is close to Miles, they simply play in different offenses. The year that Ben was forced to throw a won, Holmes had huge numbers. Miles has always played in a passing offense with a great passing QB and pass blocking o-line, and has only had one great year. I don't think Calvin is worse than Roddy, if that helps clear things. If you won't use career stats, just use last year's numbers. There is no need for a three year split. Or, as I had said from the start, use the eye test, because these stats don't do a receiver justice when the situations are drastically different. Since Calvin and Miles came into the league, sorry I tried to save keystrokes -_- My "better than Miles" list: Calvin Johnson Mike Wallace Andre Johnson Larry Fitzgerald Vincent Jackson Greg Jennings Brandon Marshall Roddy White Reggie Wayne Hakeem Nicks DeSean Jackson Marques Colston Steve Smith Roy Williams (Just Kidding!) It's a subjective list, but it's my opinion. Miles would be next, Santonio not far behind. Could even be missing someone, I went off a short list.
  7. So what numbers should we look at, the ones you cherrypicked? Come on. They were drafted in the same year. We can compare Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers, if you'd like.. Rodgers is on top. But, again.. as I said before, it's the eye test. I was just putting the stats on a bit more even playing field. If I were picking a QB, I'd see which has better ability and has shown more in his playing time. I would put Miles Austin outside of the top 10, but regardless.. a top 2 wideout is much better than a fringe 10. The difference between an Andre Johnson and a Santonio Holmes is huge, isn't it?
  8. There really are no facts to back up an opinion piece. There will never be an even playing field to compare the two on, as Calvin has spent most of his career with Jon Kitna, Daunte Culpepper, Dan Orlovsky, Drew Stanton, and Shaun Hill, while Miles has played mostly with Romo and a smattering of Jon Kitna and Brad Johnson. Different teams, different quarterbacks, different threats keeping double coverage away, etc. It's all going to be opinion on physical tools and ability. Numbers don't always do justice. Anyways, I'll try..: Through their respective first 5 seasons: Calvin Johnson - 63 Games Played, 286 Receptions, 4,416 Yards, 39 TDs Miles Austin - 71 Games Played, 182 Receptions, 2,948 Yards, 25 TDs Calvin has superstar ability over him. Also has great hands, and can go up and get any ball. If you're starting a franchise, you're taking Miles Austin over Calvin Johnson? I don't think there are three people on this site who'd do that.
  9. Statistics show that 5 out of 6 kids enjoy sack racing. http://i.imgur.com/53DOi.jpg

  12. @RicBucher Source: David Stern pointed his finger at players while talking. Wade shouted, "You're not pointing your finger at me. I'm not your child."
  13. Actually, none of their top three hitters have above a .700 OPS.
  14. lol @ allowing a first inning home run to a guy with a .695 OPS. Just after I was lol'ing that a team in the playoffs had a .695 OPS batting third.
