I didn't really think it was funny until the last two.. and then I was rolling.

Thanks.. hard to gauge on a home team forum, as you have the spiteful naysaysers and the homer spindoctors, but it seems like he was a solid player last year. I'll have to keep an eye on him in camp
-
Well that's still until 11 AM on the west coast after 6 hours, and even still if you have a big board submitted it shouldn't be a problem anyways. IDK

Nice job by the Mets, finally something competent going on over in Queens. Grats, Fishie.

Rocky Bernard has been informed that he'll be released. Looking more and more likely that my boys (Linval Joseph and Marvin Austin) will be seeing some burn this year. Giants sign David Baas, who was the consensus #1 C on the market. Seems to stay healthy, so I like the move (knock on wood). Looking like the Giants will trot out an offensive line of Beatty-Diehl-Baas-Snee-McKenzie to start the year.. I hope Beatty is up for it. The depth (Koets, Boothe, Petrus, Brewer) is looking pretty good as well. Hearing that if all things go well Friday, and Plax and the team can mend some fences, he'll sign a deal worth a little over $10M for two seasons. If things don't go as planned, he leaves for a Pittsburgh visit shortly after.

I like this a lot.. we could just simply have a dead period overnight. Say, from 1 AM EST to 8 AM EST you are not required to pick while on the clock. Doesn't keep you from picking if you're up/available, but also doesn't count against you if you're sleeping lol.
-
ECN.. can I get a scouting report on Baas? I've always thought of him as an upper-middle of the pack center, but can't say I've seen a ton of his work. What are we getting from him?

Oh dear.

Meals is a clown, who cares what his foolish explanation is

If you have a big board for each round submitted, there is no reason to wait 9 hours per pick. That's crazy talk.
-
lol it had less to do with a sleeper and more to do with getting skipped 25 minutes into a 3 hour time limit or whatever it was and stuck with a player I didn't want. If there's a time limit, it has to be adhered to. If people get bored and want to go faster, that's the problem with an offline draft.. you have to finish a full round at least and set a shorter time limit for next round. Well I think I did.. I think 4-6 hours is fine for the start, and if we want to reduce it later, we agree on a time and set it to start the next round (plenty of warning for guys).
-
I don't think you need more than 4-6 hours to make a selection in a draft like this, especially if you have a big board submitted for each round. If you get 14 hours to pick, that could be one pick in a day. It would be boring (even if we are trying to drag it out). You could even make it 2 hours per pick, and then have overnight be a dead time where the clock is off.

lol wow, worst call to end a game ever? http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2011_07_26_pitmlb_atlmlb_1&mode=video

I think he's really light for a nose, but eating up blockers as a 3-4 end doesn't seem like a bad idea for him. Whatever you guys want him to do, he'll do. You will love him.

Cofield to Washington, nooooooooooooooooooooooo Didn't think he'd come back to the Giants, but definitely wanted to root for him elsewhere. Now I'm screwed.
-
I dunno but your sig made me go from 6 to midnight

CC was lights out before the rain delay. Shucks.

Cool stuff man. Always seemed like a down to earth guy.
-
I don't know.. if it's offline, we have to make the time limits shorter and require big boards to be sent for each round. I like the "race to your pick" feeling of an online draft, where time can be running out and you have to scramble and make a tough decision. How things are set up now, I think I'd prefer online. But if the time limits were more restricted, I'd probably side with offline.

Read threads please, kthx http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/24084-nfl-free-agency-thread/page__view__findpost__p__281932 -
Shawn Andrews informed he'll be released. Giants have also been talking to Plax all day?
-
Dallas going hard with the cuts. Leonard Davis, Marc Colombo, Marion Barber, Roy Williams.
-
Shaun O'Hara also informed of his release. I guess they're really going with the youth movement on the o-line.

Which choice is the healthiest?

It doesn't seem to make sense here, that's why I commented You should use falsities, it is a great word. -
Rich Seubert has been informed that he will be released. Sad day, he's always been such a fighter for this franchise. Hopefully there is a "welcomed back" theme if he's able to recover from his knee surgery. Nick Barnett has also been informed that he will be traded or released, I think that would be a great pickup for us. We've needed a good ILB since Pierce went downhill. A great story is the signing of Mark Herzlich. Battling Ewing's Sarcoma in '09, he returned healthy for '10 and played in every game. A true fighter and somebody I'll be glad to root for with the Giants. I pray for his continued health. Also signed/agreed to sign/expected to sign as UDFA are: FB Henry Hynoski from Pitt, S David Sims from Iowa State, LB Spencer Paysinger from Oregon, OL Jarriel King from South Carolina, and DT Martin Parker from Richmond.
