  1. Blasco, I challenge you to a hell in a cell match. Tacks are optional.
  2. I watched them (and suffered) live.. no reason to go back and watch. He was a member of the fat boys front line, co-starring Eddy Curry. But his addition getting an F is an overly critical assessment. He wasn't horrendous.
  3. Randolph averaged 18 and 10 in his only full season with the Knicks, on 46% shooting. Beyond awful seems like a touch of a harsh label.
  4. This. Can't kill the Knicks, especially on the Frye deal.. he was a void with the Knicks. No toughness, no defense.. pretty well close to nothing overall. He played under Larry Brown, not D'Antoni, and didn't have 3 point range during his tenure here. He's a cute player now in the Phoenix system, but nobody knew it while he played the PF position in NY.
  5. He's never been asked to run the point as a traditional point guard.. I think I'm going to wait and see how he can handle a halfcourt offense. The shot doesn't worry me, because it's something you can work on and his slashing skills are just fine. On the floor with Billups, Melo, and Amar'e, there won't be many shots for him anyway.
  6. I thought you were talking about the veteran Toney Douglas, who we've seen as a good-but-not-great defender. His assessment coming out of school has no bearing now that he's a vet with a track record. Motie would have made us a worse team, especially if he's starting at the 5. That's like replacing whatever defensive specialist C we played last year with Bargnani. Add a few points from a 4th option and allow the opponents to score at will - even more so than last year. I said it before.. When it plays out and you love him, I don't wanna hear it Think I've said all I can on this, love you though hun.. We're diehard
  7. Douglas isn't a good enough athlete to keep up with Rondo. I also don't think anyone has labeled him a "great" defender. Shump will guard one of their big players, and will (as far as anyone can see) do it better than Billups/Douglas/whoever. Disagree? You say there's no point in drafting defense, but said we should have taken Faried/Singleton. Bottom line is that the team needed defense at the 2 guard position, and that's what we drafted. I am honestly not sure how anyone can disagree with that. Will he "shut down" Rondo or Allen? Maybe, maybe not.. Can't say until we see him play. But is he more capable than the guys we have on the roster? Absolutely yes.
  8. If you shut down one or another of them, that's taking away from their offense and their options. You can't completely ignore adding defensive players just because you need more than one guy. Shumpert immediately makes us a better defensive team, and does it at a position we needed help at. We are a better defensive team today with Iman Shumpert, and that's something we needed to address.
  9. What you ignored was my points as to why Faried/Singleton weren't fits. 1 defensive player doesn't make a difference? In the running for most ignorant thing you've ever said Motiejunas might be a good scorer, but did we need a scoring 5 (at best the 4th option) who plays absolutely no defense? Landry had better scoring numbers but lacks the translation athleticism to bring that scoring ability to the NBA. Shump's athleticism tells me his will improve, if he's focused and takes direction/coaching. Tell me someone like Shump chasing Ray Allen or defending Rondo in the first round wouldn't have made a difference. He's a needed commodity on this team. Just don't hop on the bandwagon when he is a beast for us
  10. Ignored all of my points on the players you'd rather we picked and instead pointed out a flaw in the guy we took.. hmm. Shot 47% on non-3 pointers last year.. just need to either work on his range, shot selection, or both. If you wanted a flawless player at #17, you were dreaming haha. He fills multiple immediate needs and will mesh will with our roster. Too much QQ.
  11. Philadelphia Union baby
  12. They both play the same positions as Melo and Amar'e. Neither give you anything but bench minutes when the stars sit. Where is the value in that? Shumpert could see huge minutes at the 2, will play an important role alongside Billups (defending the opposing star 1/2, running the p&r and allowing Billups to play a 2 guard on offense, etc).. how is that not more valuable than a 15 minute a game bench player who is behind two elites?
  13. One of my best buddies got married tonight, and I was in the wedding party.. my gift was a tuft of grass from old Yankee stadium. Happy.
  14. D'Antoni didn't handle the draft, Walsh did. Who could we have picked that would have been better?
  15. Take some Midol hun you'll feel better
  16. Completely different bodies, completely different play types, completely different players. Can't think of a single comparison other than being African.
  17. I'm just happy we didn't take Faried. Heard the Knicks were high on Shumpart leading up to the draft, so I'm not too shocked.
