Artest is a bad contract who looks aged and isn't doing much of anything well. Batum is young, blossoming kid under team control for the next three seasons. The Blazers said earlier in the season that they'd want a young player comparable to Batum and a likely lottery 1st if they were to trade him... I don't think Artest and a pick (which will be late) is a reasonable offer. Most recently, the Blazers brass have informed Batum and made public statements that they're not trading him.

Four spots in the rotation filled... CC, Hughes, Burnett, Nova (likely)... Leaves Bartolo Colon, Freddie Garcia, Sergio Mitre, and some minor leaguers (Warren, Phelps, Mitchell, Brackman, Noesi, Betances, Banuelos) to fight for that 5th spot. It's going to be an interesting spring for sure.

I had to drive from Jersey to Philly in the storm last Wednesday, by far the scariest drive of my life. Hit a lightning and thunder hailstorm about halfway through, and nailed an enormous pothole with a blind windshield... [expletive] my pants. Closer I got to Philly it turned to snow, and in Philly it was an all out thundersnow storm. Mayhem on the roads, so many accidents. I am sooooooooooo tired of this snow, dammit.

I cannot express how much fun I had watching these guys out there yesterday. Walker looks like Walker of last year, driving to the basket hard, drawing contact, and throwing down dunks... Mostly because there wasn't a ball dominator out there (STAT, Felton) at the time. Mozgov you could just tell was DYING to get back out there, he played with so much intensity, he went hard after every rebound, came flying in for a putback on every shot attempt... I just loved seeing things go right for him. D'Antoni praised his work ethic, working early at every practice ala Toney Douglas last season. Randolph even got a tiny bit of burn, and actually played inside himself. No forced shots, he rotated the ball well, played solid defense... If THAT was the Randolph we saw earlier in the season, maybe he'd be in the rotation right now. Who knows. Sorry for not moving the topics B, I gotta run to Jersey for class... I'm already late!
