6 assist in the 1st quarter for Lowry. Could be looking at a double double if he can start scoring.

Are we overlooking the San Antonio Spurs?
htownborn replied to Dash's topic in San Antonio Spurs Team Forum
I agree that the Spurs aren't as old as many people try to make them out to be. Over the last 4 years they have been putting together some nice young players too add to their corre in the draft such as Tiago Splitter, DeJuan Blair, James Anderson, Kawhi Leonard, and Cory Joseph. Getting Gary Neal helps too and they signed T.J Ford who I think's a good pick up and nice back up for Parker. I still think their one of the better teams in the West but if they are to do something they should trade either trade Jefferson or Bonner both played very horrible tonight. They could also try to add so more big men to the team their kind of thin in the front court with just Duncan, Splitter, Bonner and a 6'7" Blair. -
Is Kyle Lowry a darkhorse to make the All-Star Game?
htownborn replied to Dash's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
True, but do you honestly see Westbrook playing any worse than he has been lately? Regardless to how he's been shooting the guy is still a top 10 PG with an All-Star game so he should turn it around eventually. Plus he'll more than likely make it because off his name even if he doesn't put up the numbers he did last season. -
That shot at the end is the reason I have Durant for the MVP this year. The man knows how to make big shots.

Is Kyle Lowry a darkhorse to make the All-Star Game?
htownborn replied to Dash's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
When I first joined this forum I was one of the main ones saying that Kyle Lowry should be the starting PG for us when we had Brooks and that he has Jason Kidd type of potential. I even have a thread about it, I would post it on here but don't know how. Back to the point though, yes I can see him possibly being an all-star if he can consistantly put up the numbers he has the last 2 games. With Deron Williams and Carmelo Anthony on the East now that opens 2 spots. Westbrook and CP3 are the PG's for the West for sure so Lowry may have a chance to be that third PG but Steph Curry could make a case for it too. If he doesn't make it though I can definitely see him as an alternate. -
Damn Kyle [expletive]ing Lowry with a deep 3. I really love what I'm seeing from the Rockets so far

Who is awarded the 2012 ROTY Award?
htownborn replied to ChosenOne's topic in General NBA Discussion
Tough one to answer but I think it'll be between Kyrie or Kemba -
I like Kemba and he may be rookie of the year but he's no where near the talent Wall is. John Wall has Derrick Rose/Russell Westbrook type of potential.

That being said I must say the Texans played pretty shitty. Foster did his usual thing but if your going to stick with T.J Yates as the QB in the playoffs then the Texans need to stop being so damn conservative with him and let him play either that or put Delhomme or Garcia in the game. It felt like the Texans were playing not to lose today instead of just trying to win and when you play that way this is what happens. 1 for 10 on 3rd down and our offense didn't even have the ball half as long as the Colts did. All I can say is we can't do this in the playoffs it would be pointless even show up.

Official Predictions: East and West Standings
htownborn replied to JYD's topic in General NBA Discussion
Bro what are you talking about I didn't even say anything negative about the Spurs, out of anything I credited them by saying their old but still relavent. -
I can not believe what I just watched. I don't have a problem with us losing we really didn't play our best football but this is bullshit those damn referees should be fired after this game. The Colts wouldn't have even won if it wasn't for those 3 questionable calls at the end of the game.

Official Predictions: East and West Standings
htownborn replied to JYD's topic in General NBA Discussion
I agree that the Grizzlies may be better the Portland but honestly I don't think that the Nuggets are that much better than the Rockets, give us a quality center and were about even and lets not forget the Nuggets will possibly be without Wilson Chandler, J.R Smith, and Kenyon Martin for most of the season which were big parts of their team last season. Portland's a pretty damn good team if they can stay healthy I just doubt that they will happen. -
Official Predictions: East and West Standings
htownborn replied to JYD's topic in General NBA Discussion
Western Conference Oklahoma City Thunder (I got Durant winning MVP this year and if Harden can really turn it on I think they will win the West) Dallas Mavericks (They lost Chandler which will hurt along with Barea and Butler but they added Carter, Odom, and West which are great additions to this team so they will still be a top seed) Los Angeles Lakers (The Lakers won't be as good as they have been the last 4 seasons but I still think they are good enough to be a top 4 seed in the West even without Odom) Los Angeles Clippers (The addition of CP3 makes them an automatic top seed in the West) San Antonio Spurs (Their getting old but their always relivent) Memphis Grizzles (The Griz will be better than they were last year but since the West is so tough I see them maybe getting the 6th seed) Portland Trailblazers (I would have them higher but since Portland always seem to have injury problems I expect them to be between the 5th and 7th seed) Denver Nuggets or Houston Rockets (Denver's team is deep but so are the Rockets and if we can some how get a Center I think our team will be just as good if not better than Denver's. The Warriors are another team I see who could possibly sneak the 8th seed) Eastern Confernece Miami Heat (If LeBron has his mind straight the Heat should win the East and possibly win it all) Chicago Bulls (The Bulls will be a much better team with the addition of Rip but I don't see them winning the East this year) New York Knicks (They will be much improved with adding Chandler and I think Shumpert was a steal for the Knicks they could surprise alot of people) Boston Celtics (Like the Spurs and Lakers their getting older but their still relivent and I expect them to still be a top seed in the East) Orlando Magic (If Dwight Howard stays the whole season with the Magic which I doubt i see them being no more than maybe the 4th or 5th seed, too much is happening with this team right now if you ask me for them to actually compete) Atlanta Hawks (I really don't see the Hawks doing much worse or better than what they did last year) Indiana Pacers (Getting David west can possibly help Indy move up a spot in the East) Philidelphia 76ers (Pretty much the same team so I expect about the same as last year but with an improved record) -
Congrats Indy

Crazy day today Green Bay losses their first game to KC, Indy gets their first win and Cam owns our ass in our own stadium. I honestly felt we beat ourselves today with the TO's but can't take anything away from Cam the dude was unstoppable especially on the run. Oh well it's a loss well take we just better not loss to Indy Thursday.

Really ugly first half the Texans seem like there sleepwalking right now. Offense not getting anything going and Defense looks confused. We need to wake up next half.
-
Stern and anyone who asked for this many assests can [expletive] themselves with that deal. So basically he wants the Rockets to trade half of our stating 5 and some of our best young talent plus draft picks not from the Lakers but from us for just a 30 year old Pau Gasol. Seriously what kind of cocaine has Stern and the rest of the league been snorting lately. So glad this deal didn't happen.
-
Damn what a win I didn't expect that after the way we started this game. Hell of a game for Yates hope NO holds on to the lead against Tennessee so we can win the division
-
I agree the Heat could a found better but at the same time he does add depth to an already small Heat frontcourt. Like you said Curry won't see much of the floor this year anyway other then when Joel Anthony or Pittman if he plays this year gets injured but in a league were the Center position is very weak now a days its good to be prepared for anything.

Caron Butler agrees to terms with Clips
htownborn replied to GamerGuy's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
Good signing by the Clippers if he can stay healthy, they needed another experienced vet who can help carry the scoring load. The Clips could possibly be a playoff contender with a lineup of Mo, Gordan, Caron, Blake, Kaman and Aminu, Bledsoe, and Jordan of the bench. -
Looks just like it does in 2k12, I like it though kind of reminds me of the Bullets.

Rockets, Lakers and Hornets discussing three team deal
htownborn replied to Dash's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
At first I really wasn't feeling this deal but know that I think about it really wouldn't be that bad. The Rockets get a star that they have been looking for in Pau Gasol and after hearing that we could possibly get Nene or his brother Marc it may actually work out for all 3 teams. Houston gets their star player and big man, LA gets the PG they have been looking for in CP3 and keeps Bynum, and the Hornets get nice peices to build around with K-Mart and Scola, other young talent and picks. I just hope the Rockets get more in return than just Gasol in this deal.
